BCV has generally not had the 11-month issue where rooms disappear very quickly at 8 a.m. at 11-months out, with the exception that it has sometimes happened (and not every year) for some of time during the first two weeks of Dec and time right around NYE (first two weeks of Dec and Christmas week are the highest
DVC demand weeks of the year at WDW, and NYE is the highest demand night of the year) and rarely at other times during the fall season.
The rooms that usually have that 11-month issue are the following:
AKV value and club level studios and 2BRs year round (all such 2BRs are lock-offs and thus disappear due to studio reservations). The 1BRs in both those categories also sometimes have the issue particularly at times during the Fall season -- late Sep through marathon weekend in Jan -- and even sometimes during the rest of the year (the more moderate demand season).
BWV standard view studios (and 2BRs) have the issue year round but often, particularly during the moderate season, have dates open up shortly after 11-months out mainly due to walkers passing by. BWV boardwalk view studios (and 2BRs) have the issue during the Fall season and sometimes, but not often, during the moderate season. The pool/garden view studios and 2BRs, sometimes have the issue in the first two weeks of Dec and time around NYE. Standard and Boardwalk view 1BRs have also sometimes disappeared during the first two weeks of Dec. BWV GV's also have the issue some times during the fall season.
OKW GVs in the near Hospitality House booking category (there are only two) have the issue in the Fall season and about 80% of the time during the rest of the year.
BLT standard studios and 2BRs have the issue throughout the fall season and about 60% of the time the rest of the year. That actually includes dedicated 2BRs which in fact disappear a little more often than studios right at 11-months out. BLT Theme Park view studios (and 2BRs) have sometimes had the issue during the first two weeks of Dec and time around NYE.
VGF Deluxe Studios have the issue sometimes during the fall season (although the problem has decreased since the addition of the Resort Studios) and once in while during the rest of the year. The Resort studios have sometimes, but not every year, had the issue during the first two weeks of Dec and time around NYE.
Like BCV, BRV and CCV studios have sometimes, but not every year, had the issue for some days during the first two weeks of Dec and time around NYE.
Vero Beach 3-bedroom Cottages sometimes have the issue between May and August.
Aulani standard view GVs have the issue year round. In fact, it seems impossible to get one of those except by getting lucky calling MS since, if you go online for any start date of the year at 11-months out, those GVs are shown as being booked full for that start date plus the six nights after the start date. The Aulani DVC hotel rooms also have the 11-month issue at various, but not many, times of the year.
Though it still too early to define whether such an issue will exist for VDH in California, its GV has sometimes filled right at 11-months out.
There can also be special event times when a lot more rooms can disappear right at 11-months out. A prime example was Sep 29 thru Oct 1, 2021, when most everything at any near park resort at WDW filled very quickly right at 11-months out, e.g., every room at BLT filled. Oct 1 was the start of the 50th year anniversary at WDW. Moreover, a refurbishment schedule can sometimes have an impact. The worst one was for BWV begining in late Sep 2023 and ending about June 2024. For prior BWV refurbs, DVC did only half a floor at a time which had only a minimal impact on reservations. For this last refurb, DVC decided to do half the DVC resort at one time (all floors) and then doing the other half, and thus for a lengthy period half the resort was out of service. The result was that for several months even pool/garden view studios and 2BRs were often disappearing right at 8 a.m. at 11-months out, along with all the standard and boardwalk view studios and 2BRs.
Also, there appears to be some changes going on, although still in the development stage, which started with the 2023 calendar year after the completion of the major DVC point shift at WDW, which decreased the nightly points needed between May and Sep while increasing those needed between Oct and Jan. It is getting somewhat easier at 11-months out to get some of the rooms at some of the times that used to disappear right at 11-months out in the fall season. VGF seems to be showing the biggest change for its Deluxe Studios although that change also results from the addition of the Resort studios -- before that addition the Deluxe Studios were disappearing at 11-months out throughout most of the fall season.
