I Could Have Had a Cruise. Instead, I'm Going to WDW! May 2010 PTR - ONE MORE DAY!!!

Yeehaw!!! Well, it was Mike’s turn to pick our Disney night and he chose Frontierland. I was excited because I had quite a bit of stuff here already that would work. It’s also the weekend of Mike’s birthday so it was kind of nice that he got to pick this week. I’ll give that another yeehaw!!!

For dinner we decided that since we were celebrating Frontierland we would theme our dinner after Pecos Bill. Here’s what our menu was:

Hamburgers/Hotdogs (with all the fixings)
Baked Beans
French Fries
Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting (we had cake y’all! I’m so happy!)

After our dinner we decorated our own sheriff badges. I got some wood stars at the craft store. We painted them yellow and then wrote on them with a black paint marker.

Last, we watched “Melody Time” movie and learned all about Pecos Bill. I had also checked out a book about Pecos Bill from our library but we ran out of time. Here’s some pics:

Frontierland night looks so cool! Totally something the boys would love to do! Hot mama in that picture girl! Oh my!

You mentioned Abuelo's, and my mouth stated watering. I have only had it once. We stayed with friends in Memphis when we evacuated for Gustav. They took us to eat there. I liked it so much that I made Bryan take me back there before we went home. Have a fabulous weekend, and I hope Mike has a wonderful birthday!

Alicia--I love Frontierland Night! :thumbsup2 You are planning the most fun nights to countdown to Disney! AND, while I love some cake, I gotta admit that the thing that made me say "YUM" was the sight of those grilled mushrooms!

Looks great Alicia! You're doing such a wonderful job on your Disney Nights. Next weekend is the last weekend for cookie booths so after that I will be getting serious about our Disney Nights.

I agree with Megan...you're one hot Mama in that pic girl! All that talk about cupcakes is making me crave something sweet. ACCCCKKKK! I better go walk and redirect my thinking :lmao:. It's lunchtime at work. :goodvibes

Have a great birthday Mike!!:banana:

Gosh I wish my son was still young enough to want to have Disney nights. He probably would like to but is afraid to admit it. He is a pre-teen ya know.:rotfl:

You did such a good job with the decorations and the food looks absolutely delish right about now. Yummmymmmy!

Oh, I almost forgot. Lacey's conference is actually at Thompson-Bowling (spelling?) Arena. They are expecting about 12,000 people to show up. I asked her the name of Jesse's dad's church and she told me the name but I don't know if I am remembering it correctly. I think it was K.A.R.M.:confused3

Dana, that was about 20 pounds ago! That was BC (before children) so that was taken a good 6 1/2-7 years ago.

Megan, when I first read your response I didn't remember posting any pictures of anyone and then I saw the one of Mike and me. I forgot I posted it! :lmao:

I LOVE Abuelo's! Mike and I both get an enchilada plate. So yummy. I think he's decided to go to carraba's. We'll have to save the mexican for another time.

Thanks Michelle! The grilled mushrooms were yummy! I may have to go eat some here in a little bit.

Thanks Leanne! I gave in and had a cupcake today. Yummy!!

Lisa, thank you! It looks like Mike let you know what KARM is. It's a great oranization.

Hope you had a fun date night last night! :goodvibes

Thanks Leanne! We had a great time. We went to Carrabas and then went to Lowe's and Best Buy without children. We always like to go to stores when we go on a date and casually walk through them. We usually go to a book store but we thought we'd be crazy and go somewhere different. :lmao:

HAHAHA...We do the exact same thing! I'm glad to hear yall had a great time.

"Best Buy without children"?? That's the best!! :lmao: Glad you had a nice night!

And I LOVE the Pecos Bill character -- but especially his horse! I can't remember his name...but what a cute story! I have to say, I bet very few people would have thought of highlighting that Disney character!

So funny Alicia! We do the same thing. We also try to live on the edge and fit in an "R" rated movie if there's time. We are such rebels. :lmao: Carrabas is so yummy! Sounds like a great date night. :goodvibes

Ooohhhh---ya'll were really walking on the wild side, weren't you?

We should be the poster couple for craziness! :lmao:

I'm glad we're not the only ones. It's so nice to walk through a store without children!

We looked at TVs drooling over having a flat panel one for our bedroom. Maybe some day!

I got the idea of Pecos Bill from the restaurant being in Frontierland. I believe his horse's name was Widow Maker.

Ya'lls wild and crazy date nights sound like mine and Dale's..............:lmao:.

Dana, that made me think of the SNL skit with Steve Martin and Dan Ankroyd. "We're a couple of wild and crazy guys!" :rotfl:

I'm having a hard time remembering what the last movie we saw in the theater was. Hmmm. I'll have to ask Mike. I remember liking it. Isn't that sad? I can't remember a movie I saw a couple of months ago! Oh wait! It was GI Joe! It just popped into my head!
