I Could Have Had a Cruise. Instead, I'm Going to WDW! May 2010 PTR - ONE MORE DAY!!!

Congrats to Lauren on breaking the 40" barrier! Sounds like you might just have yourself a tiny Tower of Terror buddy!

Maybe I should make her a "I rode Tower of Terror and I wasn't afraid" shirt. :lmao: I'm almost convinced she'd put her hands up in the air while it was going up and down.

Yay Lauren!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Josie's tiny too so although I'm glad that she can probably ride, she only weighs 29 lbs and it worries me at the same time. I plan to play it by ear and see how it goes. If it's too scary, we'll probably start telling her she's too small. In the past, she hasn't minded child swap since she usually gets some gummie bears while she waits.I keep telling myself that Disney knows what they are doing and they wouldn't put 40 inches unless 38 were safe. It makes me feel better anyway. :lmao: I hope all of us get to experience some big kid rides with our little ones. :goodvibes

That is great for Lauren! What an awesome milestone. I am sure she will love the big rides. Specially Soaring. :)

Lauren only weighs 32 lbs so I can relate. I have to get pants and shorts that have an adjustable waist since her waist is so tiny.

I hope we all get to experience the big kid rides too Leanne! I'm thinking I'm probably going to have her wear her sneakers just to be on the safe side for when they measure her height. I have this fear that the measuring devices they use are actually higher than the height their measuring (They probably don't but I still worry over it).

Thanks Queila! I'm so excited for her. I did make sure to tell her though that Disney may measure differently so we'll just have to wait to see if she measured at the correct height for the rides. She has gotten really good at standing up tall though!:rotfl:

Thanks! Cooper is wieghing in at 33 pounds, so he and Lauren are pretty much the same size.

So is Cayley, 33lb and about 39.5 without shoes so I am hoping the shoes make the difference. She is insists that she is going on BTMR....

So, it looks like we're all in the same boat right now. To ride or not to ride...

What did you do yesterday? Want to know what I did? I made a Disney countdown calendar! I realized the other day that we were quickly approaching our 30 day countdown. So I got online, looked at other Disney countdown calendars and quickly developed a plan. Most of the images I used I found by Googling Disney characters, saving them to the computer and then opening and resizing them in Print Shop. The words were also done in Print Shop. To find a Disney font, I Googled (what did we ever do before Google?) free Disney fonts and found a ton! I then cut all of them out and glued them to a poster board. So are you ready to see the result? Okay, here goes (By the way, the heart in the picture isn't really there, it's just to cover our last name):

Everyday we’ll put a Mickey head on the calendar till we get to the end:

I’m giving myself a thumbs up for all of my work:

Up Next: Disney Night #9 - Indiana Jones Night

I love it, Alicia! You did a great job. :thumbsup2

Now the fun begins, putting those Mickey heads on, and counting down the days!

I just realized I never posted our Indiana Jones night! :scared1: Oops! Sorry friends! It's been a little crazy here with our children's musical coming up this weekend. I'll get right on it!:thumbsup2

When Mike told me he wanted to have an Indiana Jones night, he was concerned about what we would eat and do. Not so much because of the things they eat in the “Temple of Doom” movie, but more so because he thought it would be hard to come up with ideas. Well I of course then had to prove him wrong!

Since the second Indy movie took place in India, it made sense to me to have curry. That was the easy dish. The other dishes required a little more thought. But the decorations were easy! I just took some of Alex’s toys and placed them on the table. Woohoo!

So for dinner we had:
Chicken Curry (with Rice)
Green Worms (green beans)
Alligator Eyes (grapes)
Snakes (breadsticks)
Muddy Worms (gummy worms and chocolate pudding)

Here’s some pictures:

After dinner we went outside and Alex and Lauren ran an obstacle course. Alex had seen the scene of Indiana running away from the boulder so he understood why we were doing this. Lauren just thought it was fun.

We then came inside and watched clips from the movie. I fast forwarded through the bloody stuff since I really didn’t want to give them nightmares. I definitely didn’t show them the ending! I remember not understanding it when I was a kid but it scared me. They enjoyed watching some of the action scenes. It was a good night!

With this week being the children's musical at our church, we won't be having a Disney night this week (Mom helps out with one of the choirs and I direct one of them). Busy, busy week! I think we may have Alex pick the next one. Stay tuned to find out what it will be...

Up Next: Mickey Mail!!!

Thanks Michelle! Alex was so excited to put on the first Mickey head this morning. It's nice to have something now that I can point to whenever I hear "How much longer till Disney World?" :thumbsup2

The calendar is so cute. Very outside the box thinking. I was thinking you were taking the heads off Mrs. Backwards.;)

IJ night looks so cool. How fun having an obstacle course. Our first night is coming up on Friday!
