I Could Have Had a Cruise. Instead, I'm Going to WDW! May 2010 PTR - ONE MORE DAY!!!

So much to comment on now...

The zoo, Dollywood, TT night, and Easter all looked like great fun. Cute TT dinner idea though too.

The garage...not so fun. I'm glad yall found the busted pipe before it got too bad.

Cute VB bags. Shoes on the other hand....now you are speaking my language. LOVE those flip flops. I'm going to have to look into those. Nice toes too! Heels are very nice too!

Thank you Megan!

Yeah, the garage wasn't the most fun thing to happen but it should be easy to fix. At least we still have Disney.

The heels were cute but they are definately not made to stand in for long periods of time. I found that out Sunday when I wore them through 2 Easter services.

I don't know how, but I managed to have a nail color that matched my dress. I didn't even plan it. I can't remember the name of it but the brand is OPI. Most of my nail polish is OPI. I have way too many colors. Some people collect shoes, some bags, I collect nail polish colors. It doesn't help that our local grocery store sells OPI either! It just somehow always ends up in the cart. :confused3 :lmao:

SO much to comment on. Great pics at the Zoo. Easter looked very nice. What a sweet big brother. SO sorry about the water damage. Yay for shopping-love those Minnie flips. Just bought me some new shoes today.

Thanks Mary!

Mike's dad and a coworker both seem to think that the faucet will be easy to fix so that's a big relief!

Mom and I saw the pink and white polk-a-dot flip flops and she said "They look just like Minnie Mouse!" Well, I then of course had to have them!

What kind of shoes did you get?

Holy moley moo-moo cows! So much to comment on. Let's see if I remember it all.

Your pictures of the zoo make me wish our zoo was better than it is. It's in a bad part of town and they don't have the funds to keep it well maintained.

I thought about you this weekend when I saw Dolly Parton wearing a Dumb Blonde shirt and holding a big pair of scissors. The caption said she was at the grand opening of Dollywood.

Your Easter pics are cute. I can't imagine having 2000 people at church on Easter Sunday! We have a regular attendance in "big" church of about 600. Our church is undergoing major reconstruction and we are all trying to cram into our church gym.

So sorry to hear about the water leak but at least ya'll caught it before it became something major. And, it doesn't seem to be something that's going to cost oodles and oodles of money!

I sure hope you gave your mother a big hug for the stuff she bought you. Vera Bradley and shoes! Yea!

I agreee, It is nice to have these boards and be with others that are as crazy about Disney as you are :thumbsup2

I read your PTR today, it is really good. I think the snowball Yeti is a cutie too!

We also drove through Atlanta during rush hour last year, it was terrifyingly boring! Is terrifyingly a word? and is it spelled right? :confused3 I also like the sight of toll booths, I think they are very interesting and they do get me closer to Disney. DH does not enjoy slowing down for them :goodvibes

The new haircut looks really cute on you and congrats on the weight loss. I know how hard it is to change your life style and your relationship with food. :yay:

Looking forward to more and the TR :dance3:

Okay, I don't want to repeat what everyone else said -- but...DITTO! :rotfl2:

Two other things: 3 times, we've had a flooded laundry room, so I totally understand the scariness of that!! Here recently, we've had holes in our roof/ceiling, our sprinkler system had to have repairs the other day, and our garage door is about to break!!! :scared1:

So, I am totally with you on being afraid of that ONE THING that takes away your trip to WDW...

Oh, and I DID buy some Reef flip-flops the other day!! They are awesome in that they have arch SUPPORT! This is critical for me because I have an issue with plantar fasciitus. Yuck. My heel hurts when I walk a long time, or more weirdly, if I sit for a while and then get up and walk. The arch support is critical for me, so I can't just have any flats w/no support.

I'll have to take pics of them!!

Even though we were there for the opening of Dollywood, we never saw her there. I've only seen her one time and let me tell you, she wears a TON of makeup!

Within the last 2 years, our church has expanded. We actually still held services in the sanctuary as they tore out the back wall and added more seating. For many months, the choir looked out and saw tarps hanging in the back. So I can sympathize with having services with construction going on.

I'm hoping Mike and his dad will get the faucet fixed soon so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Oh I definately gave Mom a huge hug for all of my stuff! I have to be careful around Mom, if say I like something around her she might pick it up and buy it for me. Although, sometimes that works to my advantage...:rolleyes1 ;)

:welcome: Tina! Thanks for reading my PTR!

I was just talking to Mike about those snoball yetis. I'm counting down the days till one comes home with me.

We're still concerned about traveling through Atlanta. I'll put up with it as long as the final destination is WDW.

Thank you for the kind comments on my hair and weight loss!

I didn't realize the Reef flip flops had arch support. I really need to go check those out.

It seems like something goes wrong with the house right before we're supposed to leave on vacation. Funny how that happens.

Oh my! I hope you don't have anymore problems with your house!

Howdy everyone! I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days so I've been MIA, but I'm feeling much better. I promise I'll post about our Snow White night in a little while. Hope everyone had a great weekend and start to the week! Be back in a bit!

Does anybody ever hear the name Snow White and not think of an apple? It always makes me think of apples. And then I start thinking about apple pie. YUM! Apple pie fresh out of the oven…with a scoop of vanilla ice cream…and a cup of coffee…Oh dear! Now I’m craving apple pie. Thanks a lot Snow White!!!

My first thoughts when I started to plan Snow White night was that the tale originated in Germany so why not have German food. So that’s the direction I took. For dinner we had:

Bratwurst (the kids had hot dogs since they don’t like bratwurst)
Mashed Potatoes
Cucumber Salad (not really sure if it’s German, but I do remember seeing it on the Biergarten buffet)
Pretzels
Apple Pie (I couldn’t resist y’all!)

It was super yummy! I would have made sauerkraut but only Mom and I enjoy it so I didn’t bother. Plus, I’m going to be eating it in less than two months!!

We actually didn’t have a craft this time. We decided to spend some time playing outside instead. Afterwards, we watched “Snow White.” Here’s a couple pics:

For some reason I didn’t take any pictures of the cucumber salad or apple pie. Oops!

Next Disney Night: Indiana Jones (Mike’s pick)

Up Next: Oh My Am I Confused! - Day 6

Snow White night looks just lovely! Great job! I would have been surprised if there was no apple pie.

I love all your Disney nights...so creative!

I was just checking your new update and when you mentioned the time frame in which you'll be eating real sauerkraut... I realized (thanks to a crazy "bonus" Disney trip we just booked--haven't even mentioned it on my own TR yet) that we will be there during the same time as you! May 21st-23rd only. (Not at the Poly, though :sad1:. Pop Century). I'll have to keep an eye out for your family! (Unless we "come to our senses" and cancel the flight w/o penalty before midnight tonight). I may have to go back and refresh my memory on what your plans were those first few days and see if we'll overlap at all.

Sorry, just got overly excited :yay: You may continue... :)

That's great! We have a DISMeet on the 22nd to watch Illuminations. We're meeting near France between 8:15 and 8:30. Don't know if it will work into your schedule, but we'd love to have you join us!

Thanks for the invite! I'll keep it in mind, but as of right now, it doesn't look like we'll be able to swing over to Epcot then. We have such crazy-limited time, since we're arriving Friday 11:30pm and have to catch the Magical Express to leave around 3pm Sunday! :scared1:

I just re-read your day-by-day plans. Doesn't look like we'll overlap at all! We're planning to be at DHS from open to close on Saturday the 22nd, then hop to the MK to catch the last couple/few hours there. Sunday the 23rd, we might start the morning with a safari (if we're so inclined), but we're planning to spend the rest of the day at Epcot (until we have to leave).

Of course, this is all subject to change...you know how that is, right? ;)

I just love the swirl you put on the taters :lmao:. Snow White night looks cool. I love bratwurst :thumbsup2. Cucumber salad is one of my favorites too. I'm not much on fruit pies, well that is unless it has a scoop of ice cream on it...........:rotfl2:

Well, with my slight OCD I thought that someone might look at the picture of the potatoes and see that they were just dumped in a bowl, so I had to make them look pretty. :rotfl: I've never met a fruit pie I didn't like. Probably one reason why I got on the scale the other day and noticed I've gained some weight back. No more pies for Mama!

First off, glad to hear that you are feeling better. We've all been pretty stuffed up around here because of the pollen.

Your Snow White night was cute and I loved the snowglobes. Why, oh why, do I always look at food pictures right around lunch time?
