I could get used to a view like this. Guys, I want a castle.–Oct TR ( I'm BACK!!!)

We did that on our February trip and it helped a lot! However, we didn't get ALL the snacks on our list, but got to try a few yummy ones. The sweet almond pretzel from Norway was a big hit!:goodvibes

Sounds like you really like Raglan Road! Makes me feel better about our plans now. :thumbsup2

Thanks, dear! I'm super upset....not so much that BdP will be closed, but because I was NEVER notified. Just looked at my ADR list online and poof, it had changed. A little heads up would have been nice!:(

We're tentatively deciding on giving La Hacienda a chance this trip... we'll see!

Do stop at Cava. Go on a Monday, get the avocado or cucumber or jalapeno margarita. You cannot go wrong with any of them!:goodvibes

Raglan Road is really good! Whats weird is the thing we like so much is a SALAD!!

I'm sorry you weren't notified about the closing of BdP. We had gotten an e-mail saying it was going to be closed and they would be changing it to Chefs... I had emailed and said I didn't want Chefs so guess what I just saw on my reservation list today... Yeah.. Chefs! Lol. Cancelled that pronto!

I was thinking you were going to say you were gonna go to PFTS in BdP place!!

Why La Cava on a Monday?!?!

That's really strange that you weren't notified. We had an ADR during the reno time and we got an email notifying us of the issue and offering us the CdF ADR. Ironically, we decided to make an ADR at La Hacieda instead!

Great minds think alike, it seems! :goodvibes

I find it doubly strange because I did get a letter from Disney about the Grand construction....but not this. Ah well. Just need to remember to stay on top of things!

You must tell me more about this salad!

And Monday is Margarita Mondays at Cava! Either a particular flavor or one of your choosing is 10 dollars!;)

Okay... So the salad is called Goat's Town and you must LOVE Goat cheese to enjoy it!

Its goat cheese with mushrooms that is flash fried served on a bed of lettuce with fruit compote and walnuts.

We had a total of 4 of those salads in '09. We had ordered one while on the DxDp and it was our last day on the plan but we still had credits left we wouldn't be able to use so we asked if we could use a credit and just get 2 of the salads to go. They accommodated us and we had them the following day for our lunch (we were onsite for 7 days then off site for 3 so it was a good choice for us so we didn't have to pay for a lunch). Reheating it in the timeshare was interesting but it still came out pretty good!

Then on our departure day we went there again and shared the salad and burger! Which was also very good! So yeah... we are hooked on it lol! I'm so happy they will have it on the menu on the fall (it's not on the current menu).

And Hmmm... On La Cava... I will be there on Monday the 15th... I was thinking about ordering the Margarita flight so I could try several of them but if there is a particular one I like (and the tequila doesn't make me feel ) than I will take advantage of the $10 special!

Hello, dear readers!

After a crummy day, I came home to a little package that brought a HUGE smile to my face! What is it, you might ask?:confused3

Well, as you know, Mike and I are planning on attending our first MNSSHP in costume! I had found this "ghost" costume on clearance and picked it up, thinking it would be a great choice!

It's a Grandin Road Martha Stewart thingy that is normally over a hundred dollars (soooo not worth that much!!!) I got it home and tried it on.

Um, yeah. Uh.....just to give everyone a good laugh, I went ahead and snapped a picture....

Look! Even ghosts take horrible FB photos....please universe, stop doing this for your profile pics...mkay? Mmmkay.

So yeah, the costume wasn't EXACTLY what I had hoped for....:lmao: But it did get me thinking. I wasn't about to waste the 30 dollars I spent on it, but it wasn't exactly all that ghostly, either....

We got to thinking, and tried to find a "Disney" story we could work with. Mike is planning on being a pirate, so we thought it would be funny if I was a jilted lover of a pirate, sort of haunting him day in and out. Then, he found a site which mentioned that the original owner of the Haunted Mansion, at least in one of the "stories", was a pirate! And you know, there *is* that lovely lady in the attic....

Oh yeah, I was sold. The Attic Bride it was!::yes::

Of course, that meant I had to do some research, and some more shopping. While I'd love to use my own wedding dress for this (I mean, it's already dirty and aging in a box somewhere.......) I, well, don't fit in it. That whole "you weighed 125 pounds when you got married and now you....well...don't." thing.

So, off to all the online sites to search for Vintage gowns.... a month and a half later (last Friday, to be exact) I found it, the PERFECT WEDDING DRESS.

Even better, it was only 40 bucks!

I'd say it's a 60s style, and the lack in cost might have had something to do with the musty smell.....hmmm.....nothing a little febreeze and sunlight won't fix!.......well, miracle upon miracle.... it FITS!

So here's a picture of the dress.....forgive Zoe, she likes just about anything that "matches" her coat:

I think it really works with the overall "look" of the HM Bride:

Now, I just need to put the two together, and figure out if I can carry a fake hatchet through the parks.... hmmm....maybe I'll go with the "old school" bride and just get one of those glowing hearts to wear underneath.

Mike had a great idea that I should get the pearls (faux, obvs) and figure out a way to deconstruct my "cape" to work both as a veil and a ghostly "Cover"....

Woo hoo! I'm so excited right now, it's like it's all coming together.

Wait.

*looks up at sky*

Well, it doesn't LOOK like lightning today......:scared1:

How about you? Got any awesome costume plans?

HM is my favorite ride. I love you are going as the ghost! I'd love to go as the ballroom dancers but my family thinks I'm insane

You'll have to hop over to my PTR to find out about my costume. I plan on making the announcement in the next couple of days. LOVE your idea though, it's totally unique

I am a little late joining but better late than never. :) I have enjoyed reading your PTR so far. Love the costume idea.

Thanks for posting your link on the facebook thread! I've just started to skim your PTR, have a lot left to read though.

Your triple split stay sounds totally awesome!! All 3 of those are resorts I'd love to stay at some day!

Did you end up getting a V&A reservation?? Hubby and I were able to try it last year (regular dining room, though, not chef's table) and it was AMAZING!
Also, not sure if you've mentioned it yet, but do you plan on doing any of the special F&W events?

We did... I was saving that as a little bit of a surprise for my TR, but I'm really looking forward to it!

There is at least one of the regional lunches that fit into our schedule. I'm Not thinking that we'll take part in the Dessert Parties or the PFTS....just seems like too much food for us when we're going to be focusing on trying all the lovely booths out! Maybe if we go back?:confused3

Do you have any in particular that you'd recommend? :goodvibes

Omg! Thats going to be an awesome costume!!

Thanks! I'm super excited and scared about it!:hyper:

Bah, I think a ballroom dancer is a fantastic idea!:thumbsup2 I mean, as adults we're allowed to dress up for Halloween parties, right? And what better than going to a party where everyone won't be dressed like the s*&^^y Pumpkin!:rotfl2:

Very cool costume idea!!! Can't wait to see it all come together!

Me too!:stir:

Love the costume idea!! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks! I'm currently on "how the heck to I make a veil" phase of this project.

Love the costume idea!

Yay! Thanks!

ooooh.... I'm looking forward to it!:goodvibes

LOVE the costume idea!

Thanks, mama! Let's see if I manage to put it all together..... I also just realized I need the right kind of shoes..... hmmmmm:surfweb:

Great costume idea! I can't wait to see it all put together! Good luck :)

Thanks! I am going to NEED that luck, as I can't sew a lick!:goodvibes

Welcome! Not that late, considering I've only written up day 4 of 10!:rotfl2:

Woohoo! :woohoo: You are going to LOVE it!

I've never been to F&W, this will be our first time, so I can't recommend any of the particular events. I do know, however, that we're definitely going to try out PFTS, I've read great reviews of it, and even though it's a little pricey, I think it's something that DH and I are going to love.

LOVE your costume idea. I am thinking we are not going to dress up. It's going to be pushing it getting hubby to go to the party as it is!!

Looooooove the costume! A couple of my friends and myself were thinking of 'Corpse Brides' for Halloween, since we all have wedding dresses we don't need anymore and one of us is a make-up artist.

The vintage dress you found is PERFECT!

What an excellent costume plan!!! Although I'm a little scared about what you will come up with!!!

But in case you are looking for some evil co-schemers, our current off-thread topic over at Y&B is how to hide bodies...

Love the costume idea! I was totally thinking of doing that - going as the ghost in the attic on HM - but I thought it might be too much trouble for me to find a dress that would work, and then, to wear said dress in the park all night (when I don't wear dresses very often at home). Can't wait to see it as it progresses! :thumbsup2
