I Can't Stop Landon from Growing Up, but I Wouldn't Miss It for the World!

What should we do with our last ts credit?

  • breakfast on our AK day at Tusker House (Donald's Safari Breakfast)

  • dinner somewhere on our pool/waterpark day

  • breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our last day

  • other (post comment if you have a better idea!)

Hey Kimmy, so exciting about the dining plan!

I saw a bunch of people holding plush yeti's yesterday, made me think of you(:

Have a good day :goodvibes

Hey Kimmy..I am subbied to your other PTR with lauren but I guess i missed this one!! Well, I'm here now! Can't wait to hear more!!

p.s. your Landon is sooooo adorable!

have you thought about going to a few buffetts, that way you can use your dinning plan, and little man can eat free at the buffet without having to buy him food...

and use the 300 bucks for souveniours

:thumbsup2

Thanks girl!!

Do you bring your yeti's when you go? I'm thinking maybe I need to bring him on rides with me and have him show up in all the ride photos!! :rotfl:

WOOHOO for the DDP! It's the best. I'm hoping they offer free dining again so I can add it on to my trip!

You make SUCH a good point!! I know we already have one for sure, but I'll push for more! Landon eats so much...a buffet would be the way to go!!

I miss free dining...because then I upgrade to deluxe. :rotfl2:

another thing i read about but have not tried yet, but we plan on doing it when we go in June, so i can report back to you is,

at the CS meals, if we get a burger we usually get a double cheese burger.
so i read that you can get a double cheese burger and then pay for an extra bun, take off a patty, and your little man has his own burger.

they give you so many fries those are easy to share and the drinks are huge.

:thumbsup2

we plan on trying it out

Thanks girl!!

Yupp, I bring my yeti's with me
I don't take them to the parks though, they just stay in the room(:
That would be so funny if you brought them on a ride! I can just imagine the things someone would be able to do with them in the pics

So I figure it's about time I do a real update about my trip!!

The dates are officially August 3rd through the 10th at Pop Century. We booked using the package that gets you a $300 giftcard if you stay at a value. Since we are all too young to rent a car (you have to be 25 right?), we are going to be using Magical Express!!

We aren't doing any dining plan or anything and plan on pretty much just eating at quick service places. I'm contemplating if we want to have at least one legit, delicious, sit-down meal. But it probably won't happen and I have my awesome December trip anyway for that! :goodvibes It's going to be hard though...I want my deluxe dining plan back! :rotfl2:

We are going to have a day in each of the 4 parks, plus an extra day in MK and a day at Typhoon Lagoon!!

I have a question for all you parents of young children out there...am I understanding correctly that if you use the parent swap, the first people have to go through standby and then the 2nd ones go through the fast pass line? If that's so, we probably won't be using that and will just get fast passes and take turns riding alone! Perhaps we will even use the single rider line!!

I'm just so insanely excited for this trip! It's going to be so different from my last one, but I couldn't be more thrilled! It's my first "real" trip without my parents and its going to be great! I'm also so thrilled to be taking someone for their first trip to the world!! I'm determined to make a lover out of her!!

If you use the rider swap the sneaky way, it is a god send. We were given a fastpass for any ride in any park at customer service because we had a problem with our tickets checking in. We continuously used that fast pass along with the rider swap. We would tell the fastpass people that only a couple of us were going on so he couldnt take the fastpass from customer service and he would give us one rider swap pass for the rest of our party and one fastpass to take to the next cast member in line. I'm honestly not sure how it worked out this way, but we reused that generic fastpass over and over again and it was beautiful. We never waited in a line which is SOO convenient with little kids.
I've gone to customer service in the front of the parks on a couple trips and gotten fastpasses for different reasons. You're going to have a blast, I think it will be way more fun seeing your son enjoy Disney at this age.

Hi, just read your whole report and really enjoyed it!:thumbsup2

Landon is so cute and the close up of you and him together is beautiful you both have lovely eyes!:cutie:

so cool that you have AP's, 2 trips and now added on the dining plan...:cool1:

i'm with you on ToT and RnR...2 of my favs with expedition everest, splash, test track etc...hope dbf enjoys all the thrill rides:scared1: or i'll be in the single rider queue!!!

going to start your xmas PTR tomorro!popcorn::

I may have to bring mine (when I get him) on EE so he can see his momma!! :rotfl: Then everyone who rides with me can say they saw a yeti instead of just the shadow!! :rotfl2:

That's so awesome!! Thanks for the tips!! I hope something great does work out...I'm not excited for lines!! Everything was a walk on last time I went, so I'm a little scared!! This helps though!! :goodvibes

I love all the thrill rides at Disney!! They are just so great!! I hope your dbf likes them so you don't have to go on the single rider line!! I'm the same way though...I would totally rather ride by myself than NOT ride at all! They are too great to skip!!

Hey guys!! How have you been? I feel like I haven't been on here in FOREVER!! I apologize. Forgive me? :flower3:

Last Wednesday, I went to a Taylor Swift concert with Stephanie! It was her first concert!! Can you believe it?! What was all of your guys' first concerts?? Mine was the Backstreet Boys and Nick Carter winked at me!! Any of you who like Taylor Swift should totally see her live if you get the chance!! She is an amazing performer. It was truly the most entertaining show I've seen in a while...she had mid-song outfit changes, acted out some of her songs kinda (Love Story :lovestruc), had a drum battle, sang in the RAIN on stage...all sorts of stuff! I highly recommend seeing her!!

This upcoming Friday, we are going to see Rodney Atkins, which will be way less of a "show" but still some good, quality music! I'm so excited!! I met him last time he was in town and tell everyone that he fell in love with me so that's why he's coming back for my birthday!! :rotfl: Which is TOMORROW!! AHHHHH today is my last day as a teenager...I have mixed feelings about that.

Oh and I BOUGHT AIRLINE TICKETS FINALLY!!!! I had kept putting it off and then noticed prices were only going up and that flight times were starting to STINK! So I booked. We will arrive in Orlando at 4pm on 8/3. Then on our departure day (:sad1:) we depart at 3:30pm.

Also, Stephanie and I discussed food and I made all of our reservations except for one!! Here's the list:

8/3-Arrival night dinner at Kona Cafe
8/4-Dinner at the Wave (MK day)
8/5-no ressies for this day (AK day)
8/6-Breakfast at Akershus
Dinner at Coral Reef (Epcot day)
8/7-Dinner at Sci-Fi (DHS day)
8/8-no ressies for this day (possible TL day)
8/9-Dinner at 1900 Park Fare (MK day)
8/10-departure day, no ressies

****HELP!!!!****So, this leaves us with one ts credit left! I need your guys help about what to do for this one. One option I was thinking was adding Donald's Safari Breakfast to our AK day. The reason we don't have any ressies that day is because none of the ts options at AK sound good to me , I just don't like that kind of food. (except the breakfast which I went to last time and LOVED)The cs's sound better so we were planning on just having those this day. But this would leave our water park day with nothing really and I'm fairly certain I would prefer to have a sit-down dinner this day. What do you guys think? I just don't know where...it'd have to be either at a monorail resort or DTD most likely, otherwise we would just be hopping on buses all day and all night! What do you guys think? Of course, 'Ohanas is all booked! Grand Floridian Cafe maybe? OR if we didn't get a dinner that day, we could maybe go out with a BANG! and have breakfast on our last day at Chef Mickey's!!
So I DESPERATELY need y'alls help with that!! Thanks!! ;)

Also...I need more help with another thing. I think especially FauntleroyFAN07 will be good to help with this. We wanted one day to be a water park day, but I'm starting to think it may not be worth it. Unlike the normal parks, we won't have a stroller for Landon to nap in when he's ready. Plus, it'll be AUGUST so thats pretty much a promise of how packed it'll be! Going when the water park opens and then leaving doesn't sound like a good plan. We would only get a couple of hours and I don't really want to push Landon and have him be insanely hot AND tired. Going after his morning nap either would be dangerous because of crowds. I'm just REALLY second guessing this decision even though I want to go REALLY bad. What do you guys think? Should we just scrap these plans, save money and spend the day at one of our resort pools and DTD or just try it out and learn? Let me know what you guys think!!

Sorry this got long!! I really need y'alls feedback though!! (And I'd love to hear about what's going on with you all too!!! :goodvibes)

That is SUCH a great idea!! Thanks so much!! :thumbsup2 Do you have a ptr or do I just have to wait for a tr in June?

ive had a PReTR going since about december time...there is a link in my singnature, i thought you had posted on it before though?

if not the link is there and come on over.:thumbsup2

as far as the water park.

we also go to them we love them...yes they can get busy, we just always make sure we get there when they open and get as much as we want done in the first few hours before lunch time, since it gets kinda busy then.

like all th slides and such.

after lunch, u hit the lazy river and kiddie areas. we have always only spent about 4 or so hours there, it seems like we get everything we want done in that time, since we get there early.

but it is up to you, i am sure he would love the pool at your resort as well, and just a lazy hang out day.

never been in august so it is def. the hottest and canprob be the busiest as well.

You know, I probably have posted on your ptr and just lost the link over my many job changes! But I'll hop back on board now!!

Hmmm...I will have to just make a decision about the water park. I think going there or to the pool would be fine either way, the pool would just be cheaper and thus also not be heartbreaking if it wasn't working out with Landon. Hmm...right now I am leaning towards it though!

Yay for you getting the Dining Plan! I'm even more excited that we added it now! When I ran the numbers for us, it just made sense, too! We'll go places and order things we may not have without it. :goodvibes

And your ADRs sound great! I can't wait to try Kona & The Wave myself! I've never done a breakfast before, but going to Chef Mickey's for breakfast on the last day sounds wonderful. I also can't help much on the water parks since I've never been. We've just been waiting for the kids to get bigger (we may go in May--still haven't decided for sure) so that might be my advice in a way. BUT, I really don't have a big desire to do the water parks for myself...which is the difference between me & you. ;)

WOOHOO!! I love the dining plan!! It really does make sense! And I also like how it opens doors for things you probably wouldn't get without it!! Like dessert for example!! I probably wouldn't get that at all with any meal if I was paying OOP, just to save money. And would TRY to opt for the "cheapest" option too. But really, who wants to spend their vacation scrapping and saving and going "cheap"?! Not this princess! :thumbsup2

I'm going to need to go back and look up your ADR's again!! I can't believe how close you are!! WOOHOO!!!

Okay, so I officially have one vote for Chef Mickey's on the last day!! I think I may go open up a poll just because!! :thumbsup2 But thanks for your input!!

I will be eagerly awaiting to see if you guys do a water park!! It's such a tough decision. If I do go before he can enjoy every SINGLE thing I might as well go now while he's free, right? Otherwise I would wait until he was as old as your kids!! Are you just not a fan of water parks? I am...we have a great one here, even though I never go!! :rotfl2: I've been once and it's like one of the largest in the country!!

Yay for adding the Dining Plan!! That's super exciting! :dance3: And all of your days' plans look great too.

We loved having a TS breakfast on our last morning. It was just so relaxing, and it helped us to savor the time we had before our flight. So I'd vote for adding a TS breakfast your last morning. Did you eat at WPE in DTD last time? Because you could go to DTD on the day you go to the water park/have pool time and it's a lot like a TS but for a CS price! :thumbsup2

I don't know what you should do about your water park day... I went to both of the water parks when I was 15, and loved both of them. My little sister was 5 at the time. I don't know how well a baby would do... Sorry I'm no help!

And I'll REALLY try to start your reply today!!

If you're going to go with an AK reservation, Tusker House is definitely the way to go. It's a lot of fun, the kids can dance with the characters, and the food was really good. The juice is also amazing! :thumbsup2

My first concert was New Kids on the Block. Really, is that any big surprise? :rotfl: Counting that concert, I've seen them 7 times. Number 8 is on the way. :rolleyes1

Honestly, I think you'll be ok in the water parks. Anytime I went, even during the spring break period, they were pretty slow. People tend to overlook them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (a day early) :bday:

Hey!! I'm thinking that a TS breakfast on the last way is the way to go! That way we don't have to waste precious park time eating (or wake up super early for pre-park opening meals!) and we can truly relax and enjoy it!!

I've never been to WPE but I always hear about how great it is for a cs credit! I think we will have to go there!!

I know, I LOVED Tusker House last time!! It was SO great!! Decisions, decisions!! I will have to talk it over with them since it's pretty much the same characters between there and CM's.

Of course yours was NKotB!! You're a riot with them! I love it though! I WISH I could say I've seen BSB 7 times!! :lmao:

Hmmm...more points for water parks...
