I have been on these boards for quite sometime and have always foudn them and the people to be so nice and helpful. This year I am going NUTS!!! I am having difficulty finding what I think is a good deal for our trip to WDW next Christmas. I just don't seem to find it as easy as it was in the past. I have AAA, We also have AP' (they will expire in July but we plan to renew)s. We are both teachers and we are a family of 5 with one handicapped child. We have to have a room for 5. So we are limited to POR or Dolphin, or cabins (right????). We can't do the Value resorts as there is not enough room for DS to move around in the rooms. We do spend quite a bit of time in the room. We do not use Disney transportation and we already have our airfare. Ok someone nice point me in the right direction to help me!!! Yikes do I try AAA with a package? Do I go for Dolphin with Teachers rate?? I am so confused with all the packages, park tickets, magic your way etc. This used to be so easy now I am having so much trouble. Are the packages from AAA the best way to go?
right now we are booked into the Dolphin at $169 a night for December 23-Jan 2 2006 this is without meals, tickets etc. I thought this was a nice price but now I keep reading about Magic My Way and free meal plan....YIKES. I am so confused....hee hee. I usually am lost but I am even more lost than usual... :rotfl2:
We used a TA on one trip but it was hard as they had to make the changes when they "Came-up". Is AAA easy to work with.
DS loves WDW and he really needs a nice sized room. We have always loved the Swan/Dolphin and POR for room size and location.
Thank you in advance.

Some thoughts from a WDW newbie... I don't think packages will work since you already have an anual pass??? Maybe you could get around the AP issue if you purchased a one day base tix (for everyone in your party). That would make your stay eligible for the dining plan. Which, btw, is not free. Not anymore :)

You could use a discount card (DDE???) though. Although you would have to purchase that.

We have Ap's which will expire before the trip. I think we WILL re-new them but still unsure. We used the DDS last trip with my brother and it did save us $$$ we had 9 people. I think I will look into the tickets with the dining plan as there are 6 of us , DH, myself and 2 hungry teens 16 and 15 and one little appetite 2. Thanks for the info. This trip seems to be so confusing to plan. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a "Code" and then the decisions will be made around that. I would love tostay in a WDW hotel where we can use the Magical bus service as we cant use it at the Dolphin. The money we save with that (we otherwise will need a van for DS) will be quite a bit. We really want to take DS back to WDW for the holidays. He is a special needs child and he loved loved loved WDW atChristmas.

I'm in the same mess...I do remember looking at the BRP and the rooms were the cheapest with the AP discount, so that might be the way to go with that. But I think they are going to change the BRP, but it will probably be similar.
