Night Time Wanderings in Magic Kingdom Part 2 (Don't miss part 1 on the previous page)

I always try to get a shot of the hitchhiking ghosts at the end and I was almost successful this time.

It was finally time for EMHs to begin, so what was the first ride I decided on?

Yep, It’s a Small World! My mom had asked me to text a few pictures to my Great Aunt who loves IASW. Of course I really like this ride myself so it wasn’t a hard task for me.

I had not made it onto the Little Mermaid ride yet so I headed there next. As you can see, the park was pretty empty at this point and the ride was a walk on.

I had not ridden this ride since it was closed for rehab and I noticed that they had brightened up some of the fish.

It was now time to visit my favorite elephant so I headed to Storybook Circus. They only had one side open but it was still a walk on. I just had to wait for the ride in front of me to finish up.

Night Time Wanderings in Magic Kingdom Part 3

I took the back path to Tomorrowland at this point because I really wanted to ride Buzz Lightyear a few times. I was determined to get the max score again on this trip.

Hidden Mickey!

So close yet still so far away!

I was determined so I circled back around and tried once more. And once again I failed.

It was getting towards park closing now and I wanted to ride Space Mountain so I headed over there and walked on.

Channeling Jim on this ride photo.

Buzz was still open when I exited Space Mountain so I tried once more for the max score. Sigh, I guess it wasn’t meant to be on this night.

Boy do I look tired in this one!

The park was now closed so it was time to head out. But not before stopping for some more PP pictures. First with the castle.

I got another PP video.

The second set was facing the other way towards the tree.

And I got the same exact PP video.

A few pictures as I headed out.

I have no notes on the buses that night but I was back in my room and in bed by 1 am. I didn't have any morning plans so I put out my Do Not Disturb sign and did not set an alarm. I apparently was too busy riding rides to trade for any pins during my time at MK.

Awesome nighttime wanderings!

Pirates is always great and I love how it looks after the refurbishment.

Big Thunder is my favorite ride and my favorite part of the queue is the Tony Baxter photo.

The refurb on Ariel was good but not great I wish they would've added more to it.

Dumbo is always fun.

I have never been around haunted mansion when the wait time is posted at 13 minutes.

Great Jim impression on Space Mountain.

You aren't alone with not getting a galactic hero status I've never gotten it. I always get under pressure and forget the tricks when I'm on the ride. At least you came close.

Main Street photos with the tree or castle in the background are some of my favorites. I have the same lost boys ones from January. The MK tree and AK tree are my favorites.

What a great night riding the classics! Awesome that you got 3 rides on Buzz that night! And I love the PP pictures you got.

Great night wandering around MK! You got a lot done, nice to see low crowds.

Nice Small World pics, I love that ride :lovestruc

You did great at Buzz even if you didn't get the high score, I have not gotten even close, I don't think I ever broke 100K!

I love the Christmas decorations, I think the Toy soldiers are my favorite (although the Snowmen that are usually in the Parade/Show are really cute too) The tree is pretty, I remember when they would have a real tree.

Nighttime wandering in MK is just about my favorite thing ever!!! Thanks for the update! Glad you're getting back on track, and of course you know I LOVED the devil horns :rockband:

I just love being in MK at night, it's a completely different place than during the day with the crowds.

The reference to Tony Baxter made me go down a rabbit hole of reading about him and his projects. I really should know more about Disney history!

I've seen the 13 minute wait time a few times. TOT does that also.

I really love MK at night especially during EMHs when the lines are shorter.

I love evening EMHs for the shorter lines!

Glad I'm not the only one who loves IASW.

I did get the high score once but I felt like it was cheating a bit because the ride stopped for a few minutes right in front of a 100,000 target.

Me too! MK at night is just my place. That's the only way I can describe it. I must do evening EMHs every trip if possible.

I knew you would love the devil horns.

A Lazy Morning and Christmas Shopping

I woke up on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 around 8 am. I got ready slowly while texting back and forth with Mo. She and I had discussed hitting up some Disney outlet stores while Tom and the kids hung out at the pool. Unfortunately it was her turn to catch the “Disney Food Stomach Bug” so she decided to hang at the resort for the morning.

I headed out around 9:30 am to catch a bus to Disney Springs. I thought about getting breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Express but I was too hungry so I ate some cereal before leaving the room.

My first stop was the Christmas store. As you can see, the stores were pretty empty this early in the morning.

Once Upon a Toy was next were I picked up a few of the Disney Vehicles Tsum Tsums. Left to right, Train, Monorail and Dumbo.

The also had a Disney bus, Splash Mountain, Astro Orbiters and maybe a few others I'm not remembering, but I just picked up the ones I really liked.

Moving on, I walked through Trend-D, the Marketplace Co-Op and Arribas Brother but didn’t buy anything.

My main goal for the morning was to finish up Christmas shopping for my kids. If you remember, I have 12 that I shop for, most of them are kids of my cousins. The oldest boy just turned 10 and the youngest is just over a year. I had purchased sweatshirts at Epcot for three of them and Star Wars T-shirts for four others at HS. So I had 5 left to buy for and I figured World of Disney would be a good place to start.

The five I was shopping for during this day were all under the age of four so I headed to the toddler rooms. The oldest girl was 4 at the time and loved Minnie Mouse so I picked out this shirt.

For the three year old who loved Princess Sofia.

And finally for the other 3 year old who was a Frozen fanatic.

My final two kids were boys aged 1 ½ and less than a year old. I found this next sweatshirt and thought about getting it for both of them but they only had it in the 1 ½ year old’s size.

For the youngest boy I ended up with this cute outfit.

I planned on getting each kid a shirt and a small toy/other item to go with the shirt. I already had most of the other items purchased prior to the trip but I needed to round out a few others. First, for the seven year old girl who was getting the red sweatshirt with Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Pluto, I got this Mickey Journal.

And for the girl who was receiving the Little Mermaid sweatshirt, this cute jewelry set.

I also spent some time in the jewelry room for myself. I was thinking about a new silver Mickey watch for work but I didn’t find anything that jumped out at me. I was also debating between two different Alex and Ani bracelets. I still couldn’t decide which one I wanted so I walked away without buying anything.

My last stop was the pin store where I picked up some pins and Vinylmation.

I picked up the mystery pin packs because there was a Pluto.

But I ended up getting Minnie (who was promptly stolen from my by Jim when I got home) and Goofy.

As for the vinyls, I was looking for Linguini from Ratatouille or Wall-E. Instead I got these:

Yet another repeat! I was not having any luck with the Vinyls this trip and I haven’t bought another blind box since. It’s just not as fun when there is nowhere to trade the duplicates. Now I just buy the ones I want off of Ebay after someone else has opened them. I usually pay a little bit more than retail but it’s still better than spending money on repeats.

I left Disney Springs around 12 pm. This was the first time I had seen the new pedestrian bridge near the bus stops so I took some pictures.

Once I made it back to the resort, I stopped at the food court for a small snack. I had eaten breakfast pretty late and we had a 4 pm dinner ADR so I didn’t want to eat a lot for lunch. A large chocolate chip cookie and some of the crackers I brought with me did the trick.

I love walking around Disney Springs. With the recent town center opening I might have to take a full or half day rather than an evening to see all of the new parts.

Great pick ups!

I almost got the Christmas vinylmations during my trip but I decided to get some other ones. Luckily i have only gotten one repeat in the 60 or so vinylmations I have.

Hey there!

your pictures are OUTSTANDING! Oh how i want to be there NOW!
You were able to get a lot done that night and i laughed really hard how you didn't get your high score.. It's cuz i wasn't there! HA HA HA HA

I totally forgot about the Disney food stomach! Now that you have reminded me. I never went to far off the beaten path this morning.. i had rolaids for breakfast and lunch this day! so scared for our ADR!

Ok i am about to make an update on mine now.. especially how you can joggle my head here.

All caught up.
I love all your nighttime pics of MK. I just love walking around MK....and EP at night. Just soaking up the magic :)

I'm not a Tsum Tsum fan, monorail is pretty darn cute!

Wandering Disney Springs is always nice when the stores are empty in the morning!!! Mom and I actually stayed at Buena Vista Palace in November, so we got to use that lovely pedestrian bridge walking back and forth :) The stairs you have to climb to get to it are STEEP!!!

Vinylmation repeats are the WORST. I have gotten two of the baby from Toy Story 3. It's just creepy. I lean more toward the ebay route when getting Vinylmations as well.

I am planning a morning and afternoon at Disney Springs for the December trip so we can check out all the new stuff.

I like getting the limited edition sets so that's why I picked up the Christmas set. You are pretty lucky if you've only gotten one repeat!

Sounds like a nice morning at Disney Springs! I'm glad you were successful with your purchases!

It was! It's always nice to get some of my Christmas shopping done.

Thanks! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't want to be there!

This wasn't my last time riding Buzz but you'll have to wait to see if I ever did get the high score.

This next update is sadly the last one where we were together. You are on your own after that!

All caught up.

Hi Suzi! MK at night is just the best!

The transportation ones are pretty cute. I almost got the bus one but I was kind of annoyed with the buses during this trip.

I love hitting up Disney Springs in the morning when it's not as crowded. Wow, I didn't see the steps, doesn't sound like fun.

HOLY COW I am totally caught up on ONE report! YAY ME!

Yes you are! Well at least until I update here in a few minutes.

Vinylmation repeats are the WORST. I have gotten two of the baby from Toy Story 3. It's just creepy. I lean more toward the ebay route when getting Vinylmations as well.

Yep, so disappointing to open the bag and see a repeat. I'm doing the same thing right now with the Disney Lego Mini Figures. I don't really do Legos, it's more my husband's thing but I had to have the Disney ones. I've gotten all but 5 of them and I think I will head to Ebay for the rest.

It’s A Festival of Fantasy

After arriving back from Disney Springs, I hung out in my room for about an hour and then headed back out at 2 pm to catch a bus to MK. This would be my last chance to catch the Festival of Fantasy parade. I had missed it the first day because it was moved later due to the Christmas parade taping. And then it was boiling hot on my second MK day and I didn’t feel like waiting in the hot sun for the parade.

I arrived at MK with plenty of time to spare before the parade. I took this next picture because I don’t think I’ve ever seen two ferries docked at the same time.

I found an awesome spot on the curb right by City Hall and I settled in to wait for the parade. I had been sitting there for a few minutes when it started sprinkling so I pulled out my poncho and put it on. But the rain kept getting harder and harder so I finally gave up and ducked into the Emporium. I was sure the parade would be cancelled so I decided to kill the remaining time before our 4 pm ADR by shopping.

The rain ended up stopping just as quickly as it started though and the parade did go on. I heard it coming down Main Street while I was shopping and found a spot along Main Street to squeeze in. Definitely not as nice as my original spot but it worked. The parade was modified some due to the rain. There were fewer walkers in between the floats and the Pinocchio float was completely missing. Here are the pictures I got during this time watching the parade.

I think Flynn was over the parade and the rain at this point.

I was really surprised to see the stilt walkers out with the wet pavement. I figured they would be the first ones pulled.

I really love the Maleficent float.

Once the parade was over, I made my way back towards Fantasyland. I was meeting Mo and the Gang for dinner at BOG. Not sure how I did it but I managed to snag us a 4 pm reservation. We were eating so early because we were doing the Christmas Party that night. If you remember, I got rained out at my first Christmas party the year before and unfortunately it was supposed to rain again this night.

I was a bit early and Mo and the Gang were not there yet. I spotted a PP photographer on the bridge so I stopped for some photos.

Mo and the Gang arrived and I got us checked in and we were told to wait on the bridge.

We were seated in the room with all of the portraits. I’m never sure what to call that room, maybe the study? I actually like eating in there because it’s a bit brighter and quieter than the Ballroom.

Our waitress was awesome. She couldn’t believe that we had never met before the trip and only knew each other from the internet. We had to tell her the whole story of how we met and ended up planning a trip together.

Since my stomach had been acting up I decided to skip the wine on this night and ordered a bottle of water.

The rolls came out and we were all starving and managed to devour them quickly.

I wanted to get the chicken dish but didn’t care for the sides it came with. Our waitress listed a whole bunch of sides I could sub for and in the end I got fries and carrots.

The food was really good although I was a bit surprised that the carrots were cold. I was expecting them to be hot and mushy but I guess that’s the American way, not French. Not that they were bad or anything, just not what I expected.

And of course for dessert I had to have one of these.

I think that cupcake is my all-time favorite dessert at WDW! It’s a must have for me every trip.

We had a blast talking and laughing throughout the meal. When we finished, we walked around a bit and checked out the Christmas decorations. I had already taken some when I was there for breakfast but I took some more of course.

Then we got in line to meet up with the Beast. I got in the picture with Mo and the kids first and then stepped out so Tom could join them.

I love the parade. I'm glad the rain let up and that you got to see it.

BoG I have done twice now for dinner and once for lunch. I really enjoy it for dinner more so then lunch. I've gotten lucky somehow and was placed in the west wing both time I had dinner. Great pictures of the restaurant and with the beast!

I'm sorry you gave up your better parade spot, but you still got some nice pictures!

Glad you all enjoyed your dinner together! The ballroom looks so pretty at Christmastime.

Great shots of the FoF Parade -- the one of Flynn had me cracking up! Yep, he was SO over it ...lol! And Captain Hook making the "heart" sign with his hook!?! Never knew he was such a softie :)
