I Can't Do That! I'd Be Too EmBEARassed! A Nov 2015 TR New PTR link 10/13!

Yummy, breakfast at Tusker House!! Looks like you had the place to yourselves almost?! The only time we ever ate there, it was PACKED. So yummy though. You're making me hungry this morning :)

P.S. Love your Lion King shirt! :simba:

Oh man... Animal Kingdom in the morning...glorious!!

Wow! I do not think I have ever seen photos of a near empty Disney restaurant before!!! Apparently, not many folks had 8:00 am reservations for TH...that is just crazy!

Great safari photos. I just love that ride. I also love that our zoo here is so beautfifully laid out and maintained that is makes me feel like I have a little Disney magic with me each time I go. Giraffes... <3 <3 <3

I like the pictures you got of the Avatar construction!

Breakfast at Tusker House sounds good - great food and fun characters! We have an ADR here for the first time in May and I'm really excited!

I took a picture of the Christmas decorations and the Avatar construction while we waited.

That looks kind of cool. I'm still not sure how I feel about Avatar Land. I guess maybe it's because I've never seen the movie, or had any interest to, but I just can't get excited about it.

I also drank large quantities of the juice which is delicious!

I love this juice! I can't wait to try Tusker House breakfast. :)

I love the Christmas decor at AK!

That picture of the steel structure you took of avatar is now covered in concrete and is looking like a mountain. What a difference a couple months makes!

Tucker House is probably my favorite AK restuarant and I've only done breakfast there. I don't blame you I love Mickey waffles too.

Despite not being in the best spot on the safari you got some good photos. I don't know if I've ever had a giraffe that close on a safari I've been on.

I think the AK Christmas tree is my favorite of all the trees! And I actually got to see it lit up during this trip which was new to me.

I actually have a picture of the Avatar construction from January so I know exactly what you are talking about.

I'm not a big breakfast eater but I sure do like my Mickey waffles.

The giraffes are usually near the road first thing in the morning because they let them out through a gate on the left and they have to cross over the road to get to the savanna. So early morning safaris are good for giraffe close ups!

I just love AK!!! It's my favorite park... Did you know - they opened AK on the day Allison was born? It's no wonder it's our favorite... :scratchin Kindred spirits. ::yes::

I can't believe how much you were able to zoom in to see the Avatar floating island thingy... I kept trying to squint my eyes every time we went past it via bus (we did it a lot too - living at AKL that week)... but I could never quite get a good enough glimpse of it. Can't wait to see it when it's finished!

Love TH - I really do... It's still one of my favs for nostalgic reasons - it looks like you all had a great time! :woohoo:

And the safari... Yah - no morning at AK is complete with out breakfast at TH - a ride on the Safari and then on to EE to ride until you throw up (or a person loses a nail) - which ever comes first. ::yes::

Can't wait to hear more!

D~

I do love AK although nothing will replace MK as #1 in my heart. Jim and I were actually at AK a few months after it opened on our Honeymoon.

I actually took that picture while waiting in line for our pre-park breakfast. The construction is a lot closer there than from the buses.

I've come close to the throwing up thing on EE! I can only ride it twice in a row even with the motion sickness pills I take.

Wow - just read this from the beginning (didn't read ALL the comments lol) really enjoying it. You have some great photos. I have to ask (sorry if it's been asked already) where did you get your bags - they are AMAZING!!

Hi and welcome! Thanks for reading along. A good friend of mine makes those bags for me. I'm not sure if I can say much more on the DIS but if you want more info, send me a PM.

Sounds like a great breakfast at Tusker House. Love the character pictures! And you still got some nice KS shots!

It was a wonderful breakfast, both the food and the company! I did get a few good shots but I usually get more than that.

Yum! The Tusker House buffet breakfast is one of our favs too -- the selections are great and that juice is just out of this world :)

I agree! I'm a pretty picky eater and I still found lots to eat.

Breakfast looks great :)

It was very good!

P.S. Love your Lion King shirt! :simba:

It was packed. If you look back at the pictures with the characters you will see that every table is filled. We just lingered longer than everyone else because we were talking and joking around. The servers were probably getting annoyed waiting for us to finish so they could re-seat the room. I noticed on this trip that they tend to seat an entire section at the same time at some of the restaurants. I'm sure as soon as we got finished they cleaned our table and refilled the room.

Thanks on the shirt, I got that one at the Disney store.

AK is glorious in the morning but it's even better at night. I got to experience some nighttime magic later in this trip and let me tell you, it's beautiful!

See my reply right above yours about about the empty restaurant because it really wasn't.

I really need to get back to Nashville so we can go to the zoo together!!

I like the pictures you got of the Avatar construction!

Breakfast at Tusker House sounds good - great food and fun characters! We have an ADR here for the first time in May and I'm really excited!

Thanks, I'm sort of excited for the new section. Probably need to watch the movie so I get really excited.

I think you will love Tusker House. The buffet is really huge and there is a ton more selections that were on my plate.

That looks kind of cool. I'm still not sure how I feel about Avatar Land. I guess maybe it's because I've never seen the movie, or had any interest to, but I just can't get excited about it.

I love this juice! I can't wait to try Tusker House breakfast. :)

I haven't seen the movie either. I found it last summer at a flea market for $5 but still haven't gotten around to watching it. I need to do that before the new section opens!

Time to Face the Yeti!

If you didn’t figure it out by the title, we headed towards Expedition Everest after the safari. I took a quick drive by picture of the new food court area. I took a bunch of pictures of that area later in the trip.

Mo wanted to get a Then and Now picture of the kids. There used to be a bench in this spot so they just pretended to be sitting on one for the photo.

There were still lots of walls up around the area where the Rivers of Light show will be.

EE had a 15 minute wait so we got in line. I was leading and apparently there was an incident behind me with a rude guest but I missed the whole thing. Mo will have to tell you about it in her TR. I was oblivious, walking along taking pictures.

The psycho deer cracks me up every time I walk through this line.

I rode with Zack and we had a great time. I think Matt is the funniest in this picture, he looks terrified. Poor Meg looks like she is eating my hair.

We continued on towards Dinoland so we could ride Dinosaur. We spotted a PP photographer on the bridge so we stopped for some pictures.

The photographer asked us to act scared and this happened. I just can’t do scared very well when I’m in the happiest place on earth.

We also got a one of the new moving magic shots which was pretty cool (click below).

When we reached Dinoland, the kids wanted to go on Primeval Whirl. Surprisingly this one does not bother my motion sickness at all. But Mo doesn’t like it so she went off to find a DSA while the rest of us got in line.

I went as a single rider so Tom and the kids could ride together. I wish this picture wasn’t so blurry because it’s really cute.

Next up was Dinosaur.

Matt doesn’t like Dinosaur but he agreed to ride if he could sit between me and Mo. We all decided to roar back at the big dinosaur for the picture but apparently Mo and I were the only ones that followed the instructions. Poor Matt is clinging to Stitch for dear life.

Escaping both a Yeti and some Dinosaurs is pretty thirsty work so we stopped in Restaurantosaurus for some ice water and then headed out of Dinoland. We all wanted to meet Dug and Russell so that was our next destination.

Since It’s Tough to Be a Bug was right there and as usual had no line we headed there next.

The show was weird as we could hear Hopper talking but he never showed up. I guess the animatronic was not working that day.

We were all pretty exhausted at this point and were not planning on staying in the park much longer. Mo and the Gang had FPs for Kali River Rapids and I think by now you know how I feel about water rides. So we said goodbye for the day and we headed in opposite directions. I had a desperate need to see my Tumble Monkeys.

Up Next: I Just Can’t Wait To Be King

I love Everest!

You look way more interested on Dinosaur than I did lol.

Great pic with Russell and Doug.

I love the carvings on the Tree of Life.

Love both the ride photos! And the photo with Russel and Dug!

I still have never seen It's Tough to Be a Bug..maybe one day.

Okay, I’m in! I’m going to type stuff up as I read so this might be lengthy…sorry not sorry…lol.

Man even with a flight leaving at midnight I don’t get into Orlando til afternoon….I wish I could get there by 10am!

Oh my gosh WHAT a WONDERFUL Pluto meet!! I had no idea they moved them back there during taping!! And like, so adorable!

LOVE THE SIMBA BAG!

50 minutes from MK to Epcot?! THAT is insane. Food & wine…ugh…the culprit of so many stomach aches..there’s just too much food! UGH and those boats!!

Uhm…hold up..you’re one of the few people that has a hoop shirt and I did not know that…

LOVE AoA, seriously one of my favorite resorts! I just wish it wasn’t so expensive!

Yaaaaaas hoop! Obviously you know how I feel about this place! How awesome you were able to be the can can dancer! So much fun!

YAY Music machine!!! Ugh they’re seriously so incredible! There’s one girl who does Alto (not the one in your pictures) who is BEYOND amazing, ugh. Also voices…so much talent in one little area!

As much as I’m happy they’ll be doing something with the SOA space, I’m SUPER sad that the lights will be gone! They’re so beautiful and christmasey!

Dinner looks awesome!! I’ll definitely have to check out a dinner there now that I’ve seen/heard good reviews lol.

Yeti fun with Mo and the Gang looks like a blast!

I have only gone on Kali River Rapids once and was completely soaked...like, not a little wet and ha, ha I'm having so much fun, but soaked through to my underwear. Unpleasant. Never again. I'm with you on this one!

Wow! You got some really great Wishes shots! And I absolutely love that picture you took of Bradey and I on BTMRR...it's my desktop background at work.
I really enjoyed spending time with you and so happy we finally met! Would love to do it again sometime! Between you, Bernadette and Monica I made some great friends this trip!
Your TH breakfast looks great. I think we had an off time because the buffet was awful while we were there. I would give it another chance, but not right away. Too many other great places to try first.

We DO need to go to the Nashville Zoo together! So funny you said that, because I just mentioned it in one of my comments to you on my PTR. :-)

Gabe hates Dinosaur, too. I am sure we will NOT talk him into going on it again this trip.

We have always avoided the wet rides before now, so we have never been on Kali or Splash. I think we have all agreed to go on them this time...right before we leave the parks to go back to our room. LOL

Tusker House is more fun with kids. :) It looks like the triplets are having a good time. :) And the food is good, too.

It is funny that Primeval Whirl doesn't give you motion sickness. Just about everything makes me sick except Test Track. That one is too much like the way I drive. :car:

IMG_9104_zps42abejic.jpg

This is a COOL picture!!

Yes i remember waiting on a bench waiting for you texting back and forth while you were already at the gate! LOL!!!

Zack decided to make a breakfast sandwich using Mickey waffles

I think someone gave him this idea?!?! clearly he didn't have an issue getting it in there!

Zack didn’t want his cupcake so for some reason he decided to smash it in his face. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in my life.

I have to tell you a secret. He doesn't like those cupcakes. Shhhh don't tell anyone..

think Zack was in the bathroom at that time washing the cupcake off his face.

Yes he did...

By the time we finished it was about 9:15 am and the line for the safari was posted at 30 minutes.

It took 30 minutes to walk to the front!!!

Yeah this worked out well...

There were still lots of walls up around the area where the Rivers of Light show will be.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Mo will have to tell you about it in her TR. I was oblivious, walking along taking pictures.

CRAZY FAMILY! kept trying to cut in front of us very rudely!!! VERY!

We spotted a PP photographer on the bridge so we stopped for some pictures.

This PP was very fun. She's the one who wanted to make sure we went to another spot with Stitch!

Mo and I were the only ones that followed the instructions.

Shocking.

We all wanted to meet Dug and Russell so that was our next destination.

This was a FUN meet and greet!

Mo and the Gang had FPs for Kali River Rapids and I think by now you know how I feel about water rides.

We always try to do it LAST before we leave so we are not walking around soaked.

I love Everest!

You look way more interested on Dinosaur than I did lol.

Great pic with Russell and Doug.

I love the carvings on the Tree of Life.

Everest is one of my favorite coasters too.

Ha! Yes we definitely look more into the ride than your family did.

I could spend hours checking out all of those carvings.

Love both the ride photos! And the photo with Russel and Dug!

I still have never seen It's Tough to Be a Bug..maybe one day.

Thanks! We got some great PP pictures that day.

You should definitely check out ITTBAB at least once. Just be prepared for screaming kids. It's a lot scarier than most parents realize.

Okay, I’m in! I’m going to type stuff up as I read so this might be lengthy…sorry not sorry…lol.

Don't be sorry, I love reading responses.

Man even with a flight leaving at midnight I don’t get into Orlando til afternoon….I wish I could get there by 10am!

It is definitely nice living so close to Orlando. We can actually drive it in about 8 hours but I hate driving so I just fly every time.

Oh my gosh WHAT a WONDERFUL Pluto meet!! I had no idea they moved them back there during taping!! And like, so adorable!

I had no idea he was back there either. Thank goodness that CM by Dumbo told me or I would have missed an awesome meet.

LOVE THE SIMBA BAG!

Thanks, a good friend makes the bags for me.

50 minutes from MK to Epcot?! THAT is insane. Food & wine…ugh…the culprit of so many stomach aches..there’s just too much food! UGH and those boats!!

Yeah, it was a rough trip between the parks that day thanks to the slow monorail. I get sick every time I go to Disney from all the weird foods!

Uhm…hold up..you’re one of the few people that has a hoop shirt and I did not know that…

Yep, love me some HDDR! I even tried to talk Jim into going again in January but he didn't want to.

LOVE AoA, seriously one of my favorite resorts! I just wish it wasn’t so expensive!

I will stay there someday. Mom and I are talking about getting a suite next time we go with my brother and SIL. That way we can split the cost.

Yaaaaaas hoop! Obviously you know how I feel about this place! How awesome you were able to be the can can dancer! So much fun!

I do know how much you love it! I had a blast being the Can Can dancer.

YAY Music machine!!! Ugh they’re seriously so incredible! There’s one girl who does Alto (not the one in your pictures) who is BEYOND amazing, ugh. Also voices…so much talent in one little area!

I loved both groups and will definitely stop to see them again (well as long as they are still there with all the entertainment cuts).

As much as I’m happy they’ll be doing something with the SOA space, I’m SUPER sad that the lights will be gone! They’re so beautiful and christmasey!

I am going to seriously miss the Osborne Lights. They better add something just as awesome to take their place.

Dinner looks awesome!! I’ll definitely have to check out a dinner there now that I’ve seen/heard good reviews lol.

Dinner was a blast, I'm glad I decided to go there even if it was a little awkward being solo.

Yeti fun with Mo and the Gang looks like a blast!

I have only gone on Kali River Rapids once and was completely soaked...like, not a little wet and ha, ha I'm having so much fun, but soaked through to my underwear. Unpleasant. Never again. I'm with you on this one!

I had so much fun with Mo and the Gang all week!

I love to try everything once but I've made an exception for this ride. I've ridden raft rides similar to it and I know how wet you can get!

Thanks, I was very pleased with the Wishes shots this time.

I'm so glad I was able to get that great shot of you and Bradey!

We will definitely have to get together again someday, I really had a great time with you guys.

LOL

Yes definitely! I really want to go to the Nashville Zoo, just need to convince Jim somehow.

Maybe if you tell him that Mr. Jim loves Dinosaur he might be more willing to try it? Of course Jim was pretty mean (unintentionally) to some kids on Dinosaur in January. But that will be a story for my other TR.

Maybe someday I will try that approach to Kali. I usually go in colder times though so it may never happen.

Tusker House is more fun with kids. :) It looks like the triplets are having a good time. :) And the food is good, too.

It is funny that Primeval Whirl doesn't give you motion sickness. Just about everything makes me sick except Test Track. That one is too much like the way I drive. :car:

We did have a blast at Tusker House!

I am surprised too that I can ride Primeval Whirl with no troubles. The only one that I can't ride due to my motion sickness is Star Tours. I have to be careful with some of the others (EE is a one and done usually) but Star Tours is a definite no go.

This is a COOL picture!!

Thanks, I've got a similar one for my January report showing even more progress!

Yes i remember waiting on a bench waiting for you texting back and forth while you were already at the gate! LOL!!!

You know, I think I might have seen you guys coming off of the tram but I was too focused on getting to the bathroom to stop and wait. :rotfl:

I think someone gave him this idea?!?! clearly he didn't have an issue getting it in there!

Wasn't me! And yes, I was impressed that he got the whole thing in his mouth.

I have to tell you a secret. He doesn't like those cupcakes. Shhhh don't tell anyone..

I think I did know that. Next time I will steal it from him and eat it myself!

Yes he did...

It took 30 minutes to walk to the front!!!

That is true, that is one long line!

Yeah this worked out well...

Ha! I thought they were cute pretending to sit on the bench.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Me too! I am crazy excited after seeing some of the sneak peeks Disney has put out. But at this point I have no idea when I'm going back again to get to see it.

CRAZY FAMILY! kept trying to cut in front of us very rudely!!! VERY!

And I missed the entire thing!

This PP was very fun. She's the one who wanted to make sure we went to another spot with Stitch!

It was a fun PP shoot. Jim and I had a great one in the same spot in January.

Shocking.

Well at least we had fun even if no one else followed along.

This was a FUN meet and greet!

Dug and Russel are always a fun greet.

We always try to do it LAST before we leave so we are not walking around soaked.

Maybe I'll try this someday but I doubt it.

I Just Can’t Wait To Be King

I had a bit of time before I needed to get in line for Festival of the Lion King. I stopped and looked for the otters on Discovery Island but they weren’t out. I wandered through some of the stores and saw a few things I wanted to pick up on my way out of the park. It was around lunch time but I wasn’t very hungry after the huge breakfast we had at Tusker House. So I stopped and had a Mickey ice cream sandwich.

After finishing my treat, I stopped for a few PP pictures right before the bridge to Africa.

I spent some time exploring the new Zuri’s Sweets Shop. It’s actually attached to the other store in Africa as you can see by this next picture.

There was also a bakery case but there were people in front of it so I didn’t get photos. I’m pretty sure I got some later that week.

Around 1:00 pm I got in line for the 1:30 FOLK show. Once again being a single traveler paid off and I was seated in the front row right behind the handicapped seats. And as usual I took lots of pictures which focus mainly on my favorite monkeys.

I wanted to meet Flik before I left the park and I knew his meet was somewhere near the new Starbucks. I ended up wandering down a side path right past the Africa bridge and low and behold I stumbled upon Tarzan and his handler having a little party all by themselves! There was not another soul around and they were dancing and having a great time.

Overall it was a bit of a strange meet. Tarzan didn’t really interact with me too much at all. I know he’s supposed to not know English very well but he barely said two words to me. Oh well, at least I didn’t have to wait and I got to add a new character to my list. There wasn’t a PP photographer but the CM used my camera for some shots.

I finally found the area where Flik was supposed to be meeting but he was not there. Instead it was Thumper, another character I had never met. I waited less than 10 minutes to meet him. He was really cute and admired my Lion King gear.

This next PP picture is one of my favorites from the whole trip. If I hadn’t gotten the Pluto one on the first day, this might have been the framer for the trip.

You may have realized that I didn’t mention FPs at all on this day. I did have ones for FOLK and Dinosaur that I had skipped earlier that day in order to spend time with my friends. But I did have one more for EE from 2:55 – 3:55 pm that I decided to use. I was so tired at this point that I ended up taking a bit of a nap on the ride.

After EE I realized I was finally getting hungry. I debated for a bit whether to head out and eat at the All Star Food Court but my love for Flame Tree won out. I ordered my favorite ½ chicken meal with chocolate mousse for dessert.

They replaced the coleslaw with jalapeño corn bread. I never ate the coleslaw and unfortunately I didn’t care for the corn bread either. They also changed the mousse a bit, it used to come in a cup, but it was still as yummy as before.

Since I was eating at such an odd time, the seating area was empty and I was able to sit right on the lake across from EE. I got a few photos of the construction going on for Rivers of Light.

After finishing my meal, I headed back to the store and picked up a few items. First was a Pluto Hand Sanitizer holder.

I finally found some Vinylmations to buy. Disney seems to be fazing these out and they were far and few between on this trip. This set had a Pluto one that I wanted so I purchased 4 of them hoping at least one would be him. I didn’t open them till later that night so I’ll show you what I got at the end of the next update.

I bought this bag for a friend. She had asked me to pick it up for her.

And finally, I got this bobble head Pluto keychain. It's currently hanging from the handle of my work bag.

Then it was time to head back to my resort. As I passed the exit though, I spotted a pin garbage can. Yep, you read that right. They had a pin board shaped like a garbage can.

It was a little after 4 pm when I finally made it out of the park and headed to the buses.

Up Next: A Tour of All Star Music

Love the FOTLK photos!

So cool that you stumbled upon Tarzan with no wait! Nice pictures, even if the interaction was strange.

Aw Thumper! Would love to meet him one day! The pics came out so cute.

That garbage can pin board is so cool!

A Mickey ice cream sandwich is always a good treat!

I love FOTLK it is my favorite show in WDW.

I liked checking out Zuris Sweet shop. I regret not getting one of the animal candy apples.

I don't think I have ever me Thumper. It looks like a nice meet. I saw Tarzan out when I was there but it just looked like a weird meet so I didn't do it.

A nap on Everest is always fun :P

I am noticing less vinylmations as well and as a collector of them that's kind of sad but I guess understandable.
