I was so excited when I saw the box from DVC on my front porch! Oh boy my 2010 planner had arrived. NOT!! The box was empty and had been retaped shut. Can MS send me a new one or is it worth worrying about? Those of you who have received it, can you tell me?

It is a nice full color booklet. But there really isn't anything "new" in it. You can print the point charts off of the member website. Honestly, I wouldn't go through the trouble of asking it to be re-shipped. My box had been re-taped as well, but I think everything was inside. The self-sealing boxes they used were worthless.

IMO - they are a waste of paper, printing & shipping since we can get all of the same information online. I think they should allow members to opt out or opt in to receiving them. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Although the pictures are nice I have to agree that it seems like a waste of money especially considering how late they send them out. I don't know how much this costs in members dues (if thats how they pay for it) but if it's a lot, I would opt out or vote to stop sending them to current members.

:thumbsup2

I don't know, but I agree with you. Unless there are major changes to the book, the only piece that I really need is the new points chart. I would be willing to opt out, especially if it saves us in MF's!

Perhaps the Disney Imagineers have been delegated these duties and they're trying to get DVC members to think outside of the box. :rotfl2:

I have heard, though am not sure, that these are not paid for by dues. But no matter who pays for them, they seem like a waste of paper and $$$. I would opt out. If only there was a way to selectively opt out of only te publications we didn;t want to receive, but still receive those we do like...for instance, I like a hard copy of Disney Files, but the planners do nothing for me.

I'm a Disney Company stockholder... they ceased printing the Full Color Annual Report and mailing it. They offered it online as a downloadable PDF. You could request a Black and white Hard copy of the written info, data, figures, etc.(no pitures or articles)
Maybe DVC may go this route eventually. I undertsand the Planners come out of DVC Marketing budget and not MF's.

We still haven't received ours, and my trip has been planned for months! I would opt out to if given the option.

My 5 year old loves to look at the pictures and "plan" our next vacation. Can I opt IN to get mine in a reasonable amount of time?

I know this has been asked time and time again, but . ..

DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE TO RECEIVE A PLANNER FOR A YEAR WHERE THE 11 MONTH WINDOW IS ALREADY PAST?

And it wont be long until the 7 month window is history.

Your not thinking outside of the box. :rotfl2::lmao:

but good enough to put a smile on my face. Thanks :)

We love to have that Hard Copy in my hands. That also puts a smile on my face. :thumbsup2

My DD just turned 2. She loves looking at the planners... knows all the resorts by name, when I ask her!

I would also love to opt OUT. For me it's definitely a waste of paper - that's what the internet is for. I hope we get the option at some point - mine goes right into the recycling bin

Yes, it was nice to receive my 2010 points chart on the exact day that I booked our Spring Break 2011 rooms. :confused3

Nice pics, but save the paper and shipping. There is nothing in there that I can't get off the web site.

Wow, I thought they just forgot about us this year. I don't remember it coming so late last year, so now I have some hope!

That said, I would definitely opt out if it came from mf's and wouldn't be too upset it they stopped doing them even if we aren't paying for them. I do love to get them because they're so nice to look at and reminisce, but they are over the top... Not to mention pretty close to pointless this late in the year for anything but daydreaming. :cloud9:

I have not received anything yet either. I like to compare year to year, especially with all the point reallocation.
