If you look above where the Mickey-gloved dude is standing, encouraging all the runners, you might think that is a road. And you would be mistaken, my friend. It's a canal that connects the waterbodies surrounding Magic Kingdom. When I ran the Princess Half in February 2015, there was actually a boat passing by, which couldn't have illustrated the point more perfectly. And the dude yelled, "You're running under water!" Very cool. This was probably one of the first points I remember being a real choke point for Princess Half, but wasn't too bad for this one. We went down the steep incline and then back up and not long after that, Space Mountain came into view. Just like that, we were very nearly in the Magic Kingdom. Which is where I had my one very unpleasant encounter of the whole race weekend.
I have to tell you....I love this! So much, I shared it with my husband! I said, "babe, did you know this was water?!" His response, "yes, it's called an aqueduct!" I said, "how did you know????" His response, "I'm a civil engineer!" Lol! Oops! I forgot
