I Can't Believe I Invited My MIL -I'm BAAACK! And determiend to finish this thing!

Where does one even get this treasure box of which you speak? Not that I want one, mind you, after your review... But what on earth is it? Some sort of Peter Pan thing?

I've seen them in World of Disney and in the dump shop at POTC. You buy either a plastic treasure box or a plastic skull head and for one price you fill it with as much crapola as you can. Eyeballs, gold coins, gems and other such stuff that won't make it home let alone back to the motel room. The stuff has the quality of items you get from Oriental Trading (which is a catalog for tons of crapola but great for birthday parties and other theme parties at really great prices).

I love the Mr. Potato head stuff...so much so that I have a big tub of those parts now. Quality and quantity!
The make your own lightsaber at Once upon a toy looks like a quality toy. And the pack your own Pretty Pony gear seems to be a good deal too, got that for my niece a couple years ago.

This concludes my pack-yourself-a-toy and get the most for your parents money review.

I am not going to have a shirt. You may recall that originally I was going to make shirts for each of the 5 of us to wear on our first park day...All matching. Well, then I got obsessed by the DIS custom clothing boards and now I am making THE PRINCESS some little outfits instead. They are sooo cute!! I WILL be posting pics - Promise! Pinky swear! Just not sure when I'll get to it...We leave in 6 days!!!!!!!!!! Holy mouse, Batman!

Going on the custom board is dangerous. So dangerous that I pulled out my sister's sewing machine and have been attempting to sew. :headache: I am not good at this!

I spent most of the weekend being crafty with things for our May trip. For some reason I just can't get into the flow of crafting stuff for our Jan trip.

Only :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: dances until you leave!!!!!!

Just a note about the treasure chest thing...it's really small and expensive and the stuff you fill it with is really cheaply made. Didn't want you all to be disappointed when you got there and saw it.

Thank you for the thought, I was a little worried about that myself. Lucky for me they are more excited about the lightsaber thing. I hear there is a neat POTC gift shop at the end of the newly done ride. I'm sure they will probably find something (more like 100 things, lol) else they want there. They are huge Star Wars and POTC fans. Thanks again

I'm actually planning a big post sometime here soon...I wanted to do it on my first single-digit day, but it didn't happen. I have lots more bag and wardrobe choices to talk about. I might even get into make-up. Just to forewarn ya!

Where is that post??? You act like you are incredibly busy with stuff to do now that you are only a few DAYS from leaving, lol. WE ONLY HAVE 5 AND 6 DAYS LEFT GIRL!!!! Can I get a woot woot?!   :woohoo: :cheer2: :dancer: :jumping1: party: Sorry, I'm a little excited. I will try and contain myself, maybe, lol.

Why didn't you warn me about this BEFORE I went snooping around those customs posts?? HEHE. Well, I can do a bit of cimple sewing, so this has been kind of fun. I just steer clear of anything with sleeves and zippers - no can do! The stuff I am making is quite simple compared to some of the stuff you see...Just don't have the time or talent to do what many folks can do. Also, I am a lover of all things simple in design, as I have stated several times throughout this PTR.

Can't wait to see your May-trip crafty stuff!

I have been absolutely swamped lately, and not with Disney preparations, so that has really made the time fly even faster. I have barely had time to think about the trip, much less prepare for it. That may be a good thing!! I need to keep telling myself to not get so bogged down in volunteer work at my kids schools, not promise to make curtains and things for friends, etc. And then I need to listen to myself once I have said these things!

And did I mention the big-**** Halloween party I am throwing all day tomorrow? Sheesh. I am like a crazy woman. :scared: But I love it!

Hopefully I can crank out the last few installments I have been planning to do sometime very soon! Just need to get the pics taken and uploaded. I definitely want to do at least the outfits/shirts I have made and the kiddos' gift bags.
:hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

Sonny is constantly telling me that I need to learn the word "NO", but I feel bad when I tell that to my friends. He reminds me that they don't feel bad when they tell it to me.

Can't wait for the next installments.

That's the same thing my husband tells me.:)

It's almost time for your trip and mine too :cool1: :cool1: . Just wanted to tell you that I hope you and your family have a fantastic time. With me running around here like a crazy woman making sure we have everything, I wasn't sure if I would be able to drop back by here to tell you that.

I hear ya! Everyone keeps asking me if I have everything packed and ready:rotfl: I tell them that with everything goig on ...Halloween, school parties, Halloween treats for kids at school, boy scouts, bible study group, etc. etc. I can't even think about the trip until Thursday. That gives me 2 days to get all last minute stuff ( which includes getting the shirts and ironing on the designs) gathering everything and packing everything. Unfortunately I always end up doing everything last minute. It' just the way I am I guess. I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, lol.

I think SOnny and Donald (whose real name is Troy!) would get along just fine!! Does Sonny like football? Because as far as I can tell, that is Donald's only prerequisite for friendship.... Oh, and he can't be a Clemson fan.

Oh my goodness - are we gonna make it??? Can we suruve the last few days before we actually get to leave for this trip???? I am started to get super-pumped!! I am just picturing us walking down Main St., a Dole WHip in one hand, two happy kids licking Mickey Bars.... Heaven! :cloud9:

I know I have been a bit of a slacker lately when it comes to this PTR.... My only excuse is LIFE! I have taken on a lot of stuff at both my kids' schools, and with Halloween and Fall stuff going on, it has caught up with me. I have become a stranger on my own thread!! And speaking of strange, has anyone seen Kandi lately???? That chick has gone MIA. Kandi, give your peeps a shout out when get a break from all that body building, would ya?

Ok, so this is my BIG LAST MINUTE PLANNING POST. I am not completely done with all I need to do, but this is last my last kid-free morning before we leave, so I'll just show you the thigns I have accomplished and that will have to do!!

So, to break it down for ya (I am doing the robot right now at my computer), I leave on Sunday....Which is 4 days away, my friends. FOUR DAYS! :woohoo: In the immortal words of the Kool Aid Man - OH YEAH!!! Hehe. Thinking about Mr. Kool Aid always makes me giggle for a few moments. Ok, I'm over it.

Now, I figured something out yesterday that made me just about pee in my pants it was so exciting. We are leaving Sunday morning. My plan was to get out of the house as early as humanly possible. I am putting the kids to bed in their clothes (comfy clothes - don't hate!). I would LOVE to be outta here by 6:30. We have about a 6.5 hour drive to the gates of WDW. Well, lo and behold, the other day I realized that Sunday at 2am is FALL BACK TIME!! Yes, peeps, we set the clocks BACK ONE HOUR!! This means, we all gain one hour of sleep!! SO now I can get everyone into the car at 6:30, but it will feel like 7:30!! Which is practically sleeping in around here! And because it always takes us at least 2-3 days for us to get around to actually-physically resetting our clocks, it will even SAY 7:30 when are leaving. Can you conceptualize how completely awesome this is? Do you understand why I nearly peed my pants with excitement?

OK, another exciting thing - the weather! Now, I am sort of a-feared to talk of this out loud. We all know Florida weather is as fickle as a sorority girl (hey, I WAS a sorority girl, so I can say this). But right now, the forecast is ROCKING MY WORLD. In all my numerous trips to WDW I don't think the weather has ever looked so absolutely-fabulous. Check this out:

A full day of sunshineLow: 57 °FHigh: 77 °FMonday, Nov 5More Details A full day of sunshineLow: 59 °FHigh: 78 °FTuesday, Nov 6More Details Brilliant sunshineLow: 59 °FHigh: 80 °FWednesday, Nov 7More Details SunshineLow: 52 °FHigh: 77 °FThursday, Nov 8More Details Mostly sunnyLow: 56 °FHigh: 74 °FFriday, Nov 9More Details Partly sunnyLow: 63 °FHigh: 75 °FSaturday, Nov 10More Details Times of clouds and sunLow: 61 °F

Nary a drop of rain!

Can you dig it? I mean, whoa. So perfect, right? I can only take this as a sign that all the stars and planets in the cosmos have aligned to make little ole me's trip as perfect as can be (or maybe the cosmos just loves New Jersey). There you have it. A Mandate from Heaven. OK, Mandate from Heaven was actually part of Chinese history, but what the heck? It could apply to my WDW trip, too, right?:woohoo: :woohoo:

OK, so I wanted to show you one outfit I finished for THE PRINCESS....
IMG_5097.jpg

There are pants as well...Denim capris with red satin trim with the black polkie-dotted ribbon below that. THE PRINCESS loved these so much she insisted upon wearing them to preschool this morning with her black kitty cat Halloween shirt we bought at Target (pronounced Tar-Jey, of course). Those little pom pom things up there are korker bows for her hair. I made those too - so easy! I make them for every outfit she owns. Not really. But close. :rolleyes1

OK, I have also been hard at work on Trip Journals for the kiddos. Basically, I feel an immense and overwhelming amount of guilt over taking Buzz out of school for a week. So, to make up for that, I made him a journal to fill out throughout the trip. He can then take this in to his teacher to show her we did not completely slack off while at the World. I am sure she will see right through this ruse and give the journal only a cursory glance, but whatever. I rpinted most of the pages off mouseforless.com, and then added some coloring pages, connect the dots, mazes, and ABC worksheets at the end. All Disney-related, of course.

IMG_5092.jpg

As you can see, I put their itineraries on the cover. I made one for THE PRINCESS, as well. Equal treatment, and all that. Though she can only write her name, so not sure how excitig those journal pages will be.

Ok, one last thing..... I put together a little goodie bag for each kiddo. The bags will be placed on the beds in the hotel room when we first enter. We will somehow pull a fast one over on the kids by telling elaborate lies in order to make this happen. Hey, whatever it takes, right?? Each bag has some little Disney goodies (like we aren't gonna buy enough crapola there?) and a letter from Mickey (buzz) or Minnie (THE PRINCESS) welcoming them to WDW and telling them to have fun and obey their parents. Subtle, eh? Ok - here is a picture of Buzz's loot:
IMG_5091.jpg

1. In back you can see the gift bag...Mater's headlights actually light up! At first I wondered why McQueen's don't light up. Then I remembered - his are stickers because the race tracks are always lit up! Can you tell we have watched this 6,702 times?
2. McQueen PJs
3. Mr. Potato Head (for the pieces we buy at DTD)
4. Disney straws - saw these at the $1 store and HTHT (had to have them)
5. Glow bracelets - 15 for $1!!
6. McQueen notebook for doodling in car
7. McQueen crayons
8. Mr. Incredibles Pez (couldn't find McQueen!)

Imagine THE PRINCESS's bag with all the same stuff, only substitute those ubiquitous princesses wherever you see McQueen. I really wanted Mickey and Minnie stuff, but does anyone know how hard it is to find straight-up Mickey and Minne crapola? I mean, outside of WDW? Nearly impossible, I tell you. Those darn Pixar characters and the aforementioed Princesses have taken over....

Well, there you have it. My fingers ache and you probably have eye strain, so I'll leave it at that.

Everyone have a wonderful and safe HALLOWEEN!!!! :stir:

Only two of the pics showed up for me but that's ok. Glad to see an update. I almost died when I saw what you wrote about Target (pronounced Tar-Jey) THAT'S WHAT I CALL IT!! My husband laughs at me every time I say it. I thought I might be the only one. I tell him it's because, to me, it is THE store. It's my fancy place. (hey, I'm poor) so saying TarJey makes it seem more special or something. The major bummer is the colset Target is an hour and a half away from me :( Needless to say I hunt one down wherever I can and have been praying they will put one up where I live(they have everything else, why they won't put up a Target is beyond me) I swear the more you "say" on here the more alike I think we are. Care for a long lost sister?lol.

I double the awesome forecast comment. I am soo stinkin excited about that!! It looks like it will be PERFECT (knock on wood) Also, thanks for the fall back reminder. I'm sure we would have completely forgot. That is AWESOME! We will get to "sleep in" an extra hour at the hotel that morning before we make the final trek to WDW.

3 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :woohoo: :woohoo:

OK - I think the pics are fixed!!!

D and B's Mom - I've always wanted a sister!!! Woo hoo!!! We just have to get you a Tar-Jey a bit closer to home...I can't stand to be further than 15 minutes from a Tar-Jey..... That's my Happy Place!

Love the gift bags!

Thanks!!!! So totally unnecessary - but oh so fun to pt together!!

you could always Zazzle yourself a Jiminy Cricket hoodie at the Disney Ink Shop - not sure if they have pink hoodies though ;)

YOu know, this never occurred to me - Fab idea!!! But then again, then my quest would be over. And I kind of enjoy the quest for my elusive pink JC hoodie. I think I even like grumbling about the mistreatment and neglect of JC and his lack of presence in the parks. Is that said, or what?

Looks like someone has been busy. I like all of your projects! Check out this thread of printable activities on the family board. Be warned that it can become addictive as well.

I am also going to borrow your idea for the princess's shirt.

Are you excited? Can you just barely stand it? Is Bill getting pumped up? I really hope we run into each other!!!!!! I would love to say "Hello!" :yay:

We are too excited for words!! Bill is super excited:banana:. I really hope we run into each other too. If I see you at Liberty Tree Tavern that night I will say hello!!

Wanted to say... Love the outfit, the itineraries, the goodie bag stuff, and especially the travel journals. So creative and FUN!!

Have a save trip and don't forget to take notes for your Trip Report :rotfl:.
