I have been working on my Disney trip album all year and I have yet to finish it (I work very slowly). I stopped to do my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary keepsake album and I am tickled pink I actually finished it in one weekend. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see how nice it turned out. Everyone's photos were very poor, it must have been the lighting in the restuarant. With careful planning my sister and I managed to find paper that flattered every photo. I included 2 pics from their wedding, their newspaper announcement and made up an "On This Day In History" insert. I left the left side page free for mom to put her own journaling in, on top of coordinated background paper.

This hobby is just way too much fun. I don't think I have ever felt this sense of pride or accomplishment in any other hobby/craft project I have done and I have done tons.

Wonderful! I am so close to finally finishing my DD 5th birthday at WDW! I just have animal Kingdom to do! I can't wait! I am trying so hard to do all my back log of pictures so then I can sit down and work on this years trip and try to be really creative!
Your parents are going to love their album! What a treat! Such a nice idea to keep one page free for them to add too!

Your parent's album sounds wonderful!!!

I totally know what you mean about the pride thing. I have never done any type of crafts before but after I finish a page or a layout or an album, I just feel so good about creating something!

I just finished my Disney Cruise album ( well my first album, I took so many pics that I need two!) :) and it's my favourite so far....will be posting it on my site tomorrow :D

I am sure your parents will love the album!

That's because its more than a hobby...its a tradition and you are touching generations by making your albums! Congrats on finishing both albums!

Its funny because in Dec. I helped a friend do her parents' anniversary album......a photo history of their marriage. She had started in August but didn't get to it and we had to do it all in 2 sessions at the end of a week...It was crazy, but fun helping her put together her first big project....she now has a Disney cruise album to do (hmmm, I think I need to give someone a phone call...)

Congratulations! It feels good to finish one doesn't it? And you are right...definitely a VERY REWARDING hobby.

Good for you! I know what you mean about the sense of pride. I did a 5x7 album of my sister's surprise 40th birthday party. I agonized over how to do it and it was the first time I'd done that size and on black cardstock. Half way through I started to think "This looks pretty good!" When she got it she showed it to her friends and they wanted to know if they could just send me all their photos so I could do it for them! LOL!! Made me feel like I'd done something right for a change!:D
