I can finally add a ticker, we've booked!

We've just spent the last hour or two booking a trip 10 years after my first and only Disney holiday and I'm so excited! My mum and I will be staying at Disney's Old Key West resort between 24/08/2012 and 8/09/2012.

However, i do have a couple of questions. Please forgive me if these are really stupid questions!

1- We're using the Deluxe Dining plan (and i know it's so much food but mother's orders!) and i was wondering is everything on the menu at the eligible restaurants included in the dining plan or only certain dishes? If it's the latter how do you know which dishes are included?

2- It's my mum's birthday on the 25th of August and i know she might be a bit groggy from traveling the day before but I'd like to do something a bit special for her. Obviously we'll get her a Birthday button but can you think of any special experiences or anything that i could do. Hopefully that won't cost me too much, I'm a poor student

As far as I know everything on every menu is included, I have never been refused anything. Will be interested to hear what you think of the Deluxe DDP, I have a very large appetite and no way would I want more than the regular DDP. Plus I would not want the additional tips involved with Deluxe, that costs enough on regular DDP.

I guess you are wanting something that does not involve food for her Birthday? High tea at Grand Floridian is great, cost us $38 for 3 of us and something we want to do again but always booked up, we tried again this week. But its more food which you will certainly not want.

For somewhere special for you mums birthday I would recommend california grill for dinner and to watch the firworks. It's a great resaurant and place to see wishes

Congrats on your new ticker. A signature looks so much more complete with a countdown doesn't it!

I just wanted to comment on something you said about your mum possibly being a bit tired from the day before. We have never felt the effects of the journey on the way there. Coming back home - well that's a different matter entirely I am pretty sure she will be absolutely fine and will really appreciate a special celebration with the family.

I like Wayne's suggestion of the GF Tearoom. Is there anything that she particularly loves or steers clear of in the way of food?

Thank you for all your help, I'll have to take a proper look into all the restaurants and specifically the ones you've suggested! I was browsing the boards before and after looking at all the pictures posted i'm thinking i might treat her to picking a pearl and getting her a setting in Epcot.

Thankfully i've got a lot of time to plan and think it through!
