I booked thru sw and had change my flight rate when i got a sale thru sw, now i was just ding with a better rate how do i change my rate again to get the ding rate ? when i am on the ding site i dont see anything about changing ressies thru the travel center, help please !

You just need to cancel the old flight and then book the Ding using ticketless travel funds. Call SW and they will walk you through it.

No cancellation fee. I've done this several times. I'll open two browser windows. First, pull up the Ding fare and take it all the way to the payment screen. Then in another window, cancel the original ticket. Then, go back to the Ding window and use the ticketless funds under the original confirmation # for payment. The difference in price will remain under the original confirmation # to be used as payment anytime up to a year from when the flight was first booked. It's really quite easy! :thumbsup2

I just wanted to ditto what mareed said. I've changed flights numerous times without any cancellation fees. Do just what mareed said and you'll be fine. Good luck!

:cheer2: Thank You ! :cheer2: It worked just as you said, although i was very :bitelip: nerves doing it but worked like a charm .. christmas in WDW here we come ..... :teeth:

I have a ding right now for half of my flight (to MCO). Can I cancel half my flight and use the funds? When I went to cancel it looks like I have to cancel the round trip. Is this true?
If so I won't be able to take the ding :(
thanks!!

This is why it is advantageous to book a Southwest flight in one-way increments.

Yes, you will have to cancel the round trip.

You could rebook it as two one-ways unless the time you want for your return is gone.

I think it depends on how you booked the flight. If you booked it as a round trip then I believe you have to cancel the whole thing. Thanks to some lovely people here I now always book each leg separately (no extra cost for doing this on SWA) so I can take advantage if a lower fare shows for one leg only! :thumbsup2

You can rebook just one way. Go to Travel tools and rebook/change flight. It gives you the option to do just oneway. I'm not sure if you can get the ding fare this way, but we had to change our flight from Aug 27 returning on Sept 3 to Aug 26th returning on Sept 3rd. I was able to keep my original return flight and rebook my new outward flight. I had a $40 credit from a previous rebooking due to cheaper rates so my new date didn't even cost me anything. :)
