I booked it!! hooray

We are booked for 7 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!! We will be staying from June 25 - July 2; my daughter's birthday is during the week so that will be fun. We've also invited her best friend to come along and she's never been to Disney - they will both be 14 for the tripp I got a rate of $134 a night with the Disney visa card discount. I wish we qualified for the 7 for 4 thing but we are a charter card holder. Any suggestions for a 14 year old's birthday at Disney? We're thinking about the ice cream social at the Land? Can't wait!!

Congratulations! What fun!! You are going to LOVE AKL. It is incredibly beautiful and a lot of fun. Great time of the year, too!
The girls will have a blast!
Can't help too much with dining choices. Although if you think she wouldn't be embarassed, I think you'd all have fun at a character meal for a birthday. Also, be sure to pick up an "It's my birthday" pin at City Hall at the MK if there on her big day!! Enjoy!
P.S. If DD likes meat at all , I have heard many great reviews of O'Hana's at the Poly for good meals and fun!! If she likes more formal dining, I'd try for Cali Grill to coincide with Wishes fireworks!! We did this in October and it was Fabu -

We were at AKL for DS's 6th Birthday. He got 2 cards from the Lodge and a really sweet Safari Pooh, and that was just the hotel part of the B'day, all for just being a birthday boy. We did the Pooh & friends dinner at Crystal Palace (got more B'day cards) where he got even more fuss.

Wow, and what a great price! Enjoy!

Thanks everyone...we can't wait to get there. Being from Maine we still have lots of dirty snow hanging around. Spring is a long time away but this trip will help us pass the time. Can't wait to see those giraffes

Oooh, didn't notice you were a fellow Mainer! And from greater LA too (from York county myself). Remember learning "16 counties has our State" in grade school? After 18 yrs "in exile", I can still name all the county seats .

So AKL is wicked nice! Looks sharp too! (now how am I gonna use the term "numb as a hake" here?) Fortunately we can get there from here...

Also, be sure to let everyone know about your child's Birthday; add it to the reservation, any priority seatings (day before and day after too!), and have her wear the Birthday button at all times, cuz it attracts "magic", and even at 14 we all enjoy having a fuss made over us .

I'm taking DD for her 14th in June. We're going to Hoop-De-Doo revue, I hope to get an Illuminations cruise, looking into parasailing, and she requested Liberty Tree tavern for dinner. I'm getting ready to call Sunday AM for the Illuminations cruise.
