"I bet they get Charmin" A May 2014 Girls Trip **04/03 THE END**

I hope you don't get rained on, and that you have an amazing trip!

Spoiler alert: We did and we did! But that's for another time so for now I'll just say thanks for the wishes ;)

That does sound like a lot of walking - though I am sure in TR form it reads a bit more condensed than in real life. And if you are going to do a bit of walking, EPCOT is a pretty scenic place to do it :thumbsup2

I totally didn't even notice Lightning at first and rather was focused on the "Cool X-ing" sign - shows where my priorities are :rotfl2:

Um, yeah it's a real song ... smooth, very smooth ;)

Ack - hate when the smoke from any Fireworks show gets in the way but it can be bad at times for Illuminations - glad you still enjoyed it though!

Yes, in real life my feet were just like, why don't you just make your mind up?! But you're totally right, Epcot is great to look at.

That's just because you're so cool you're drawn to the sign :thumbsup2

It *is* a real song. It's just now how I know it. :p

It's impossible to not enjoy IllumiNations ::yes::

Marie, Amber - totally forgot to wish you a wonderful upcoming trip!

I am sure the group trip was tons of fun - but I bet in some ways it will be nice to be back to touring as just the two of you :goodvibes

It's late, but thanks! We had a greatish time (nothing was really wrong persay but I wouldn't call it the best trip).

And it was nice to just have the two of us in some ways. In others it was a bit strange but still.

Ah Spaceship Earth. And it appears your face has hands. I don't remember that at all.

You're going to Disney!!!! I hope I see you! ;)

Awww how cool the CM let you all ride Maelstrom. Pixie Dust!

Monorail pictures are a rule, yes!

I had them removed, they were starting to freak people out or something :rolleyes2

I know! That would be so cool, wouldn't it? :rolleyes1

It was really awesome of the CM and we all had a good time.

And we all must adhere to Disney rules.

Subscribed! You're such a fun bunch of girls. I love this thread! :goodvibes

Not sure how I missed these updates :confused3 BUT I hope your trip was spectacular! I loved getting to follow along on Facebook!

Hahaha I love your Spaceship Earth photo! Clearly handling it very well.

Now, I am one of the few people who is very excited about the Frozen ride (don't shoot!) but I am kind of bummed I won't get a last ride on the Maelstrom. I'm not sure we did it in July to be honest.

Julie Chen!!! I want to be her.

:cheer2: Welcome and thank you! We're both happy to have you following along and hope you continue to enjoy it!

Julie Chen!!! I want to be her.

It's perfectly alright and we did try very hard to keep up on our social media this time around. Much easier to do with just the two of us ;)

I know, I'm just so good at being alone.

It's okay :thumbsup2 I'm just over Frozened at the moment. And bummer that you didn't know in July to get a ride. We made sure to do it when we were there and I'm glad we did.

Everyone wants to be Julie!

Note: Sorry that we're just getting back into the swing of things since getting back. We obviously need lots of time to get on the ball after trips.

From this point onward the narration style is going to shift a bit. Instead of evenly doing every other chapter in terms of narration, Marie and I will pretty much just write whichever chapters we feel like. Meaning there's no guarantees who'll be posting the next chapters. It's like a fun mystery each time we update!

Also, I've posted the intro for our September trip if you're interested. It can be found here and I'll be starting the actual chapters soon.

Now that that's all out of the way, let's get on with the rest of the trip!

Day 5, Part 1: "It's your choice."

On purpose the day was supposed to have an early start and I woke up at 6:15, with everyone who wanted to get to the parks early for EMH following suit.

Marie, Veronica and Merranda got up and out of bed with no problem. Eli immediately said that she'd be staying in the room and went back to sleep, but Traci was having a hard time deciding if she wanted to get up and go or not. We told her that it was her choice and if she wanted to keep sleeping she could meet up with us later with Eli.

Eventually, she made the choice to stay in bed and we headed out of our room shortly afterward.

001_zps1e4efdb4.jpg

According to the time stamp on this picture we walked out the door at 7:11, which was later than planned by about ten minutes as we'd been hoping to catch the Welcome Show.

002_zpsa4de5928.jpg

The bus line was short, but we didn't get on a bus until 7:30.

003_zpsf76eb0fa.jpg

On said bus I took a picture of Marie's bow, made of course, by Magical Ribbons.

004_zpsbbbfdcd2.jpg

We finally arrived to the Magic Kingdom and booked it over to bag check.

Unfortunately, by that time the Welcome Show was already starting and we had to try and watch it while in line for Bag Check.

It looked a little like this:
005_zpsc5886c24.jpg

006_zps9f9946e4.jpg

At least for me. Given that I had more than a couple of inches on everyone else, their view was pretty much just other people's heads.

007_zps2dae4d58.jpg

Marie and Veronica gave up trying to watch.

And then we waited in bag check line, which took a while, but Merranda picked a different line than we did.

008_zps80a00685.jpg

Clearly she picked better.

It wasn't too long though, before we were inside the Magic Kingdom bright and early.

009_zpsb7d9a4fd.jpg

Can you guess where most people were going?

Not in any particular rush, we decided to stop and have some Photopass pictures taken.

010_zpscc251816.jpg

011_zps4cbc43bc.jpg

Got to make the most of that Memory Maker, after all.

But then continued onward toward our first destination.

012_zpsce211fd6.jpg

Click and walk picture of the Castle.

013_zps83140e63.jpg

And of the construction walls.

014_zps2acae837.jpg

We decided to start our day off in Tomorrowland!

015_zps2d48813a.jpg

More specifically, at Space Mountain.

The wait time said something like 10 minutes, but it was closer to 5.

016_zps30e34e57.jpg

Given that there were four of us, we split up into two separate rockets so there wouldn't be the lone person in a picture.

017_zps4181e409.jpg

Merranda and Veronica in one ship.

018_zpsb56e1323.jpg

Marie and I in the other with probably the best guy ever.

After that finished, we decided that we'd head to Frointerland to try and do a triple mountain morning!

019_zps7fb5a7d8.jpg

While passing by the tea cups we saw that Alice was out with the White Rabbit, who Merranda had wanted to meet but since Alice was Traci's solo character, we decided we couldn't meet her without Traci present and went onward toward our goal.

Except, you know, the only things open in morning EMH are Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. Which we found out from a nice CM.

Sooooo, since we were there and had time to kill, we decided that we'd do something else.

Any guesses what?

020_zps023f52ce.jpg

Winnie the Pooh!

It said 20 minutes and it wasn't like we had anything else we wanted to do, so we hopped in line.

021_zpsec8ef851.jpg

022_zps4710f137.jpg

In reality, we probably waited about 10 minutes before we were getting in a hunnypot and I was riding with Marie again.

023_zpsf1a078ff.jpg

We followed the no dancing rule very seriously.

024_zpsae10bc2b.jpg

Oh Poohbear, you're so silly.

After an enjoyable ride, we decided that we'd go ahead and look at the damage that was the Anna and Elsa line.

I took the most blurry picture of it possible, but I'm still sharing it.

025_zps6d5baa12.jpg

Not that you can read what it says, but you can see that there are 3 digits and yes, it was up to 200 minutes right around 9 AM.

Geez. We actually cringed looking at it before we continued on.

Day 5, Part 2: "We're going to be late."

Now that the EMH were over, we quickly made our way over toward the two mountains.

025_zps6d5baa12.jpg

Crowd (or lack there of) picture.

027_zpsa534da3f.jpg

Following Tangled bathroom laws.

028_zps545cd7ec.jpg

It seemed like quite a few other people had the same idea as we did.

First, we opted for Splash Mountain.

029_zps014cfb65.jpg

It was probably a little less than 10 minutes by the time we got on the log.

030_zpsc895cc2c.jpg

031_zps6312f6a6.jpg

This time around we were both determined to make sure we got our ride picture and to make it interesting.

032_zpsaa9b64df.jpg

Hence: Search Mountain.

I was sort of blocking Veronica since I'm so much taller than her but we were all pretty happy with how it came out. Though the map did get torn up and soaked, so good thing we didn't need it.

Once we finished, we went over to Big Thunder Mountain.

033_zps93ef7510.jpg

Again, the wait time was probably close to accurate at 10 minutes.

033_zps93ef7510.jpg

035_zpsa8f3b06f.jpg

This time around I was going to ride with Veronica, so we took a we-sie since there are no pictures on BTM.

036_zpse881929b.jpg

037_zpsd352ad5b.jpg

I also snapped one of Marie and Merranda. I have another where they're turned to face me but Merranda is so unprepared that I thought it better to just share this one.

All three mountains conquered, we made a pit stop in Peco Bills to use the restrooms and sit down for a few minutes. Marie also texted Traci to make sure she and Eli were up and on the bus because we had a FP+ to make.

We found out that they were up but Eli was slowing Traci down in terms of getting out of the room. In fact, Traci was asking if she should just leave without Eli because otherwise we'd be late to the FP+. Marie had purposefully told Traci and Eli that it ended 30 minutes earlier than it did so that they'd get there sooner, but clearly it was not working out as planned.

Yet, we decided to head up toward Cinderella Castle to wait for them.

038_zps9375da97.jpg

039_zpsaef16c25.jpg

I was mildly annoyed at the fact that Eli was holding up the process of things, so I busied myself by taking pictures.

040_zpse6e2930e.jpg

041_zpsb7207b70.jpg

Here are the girls when Marie is on the phone with Traci who says they're finally getting on the bus and to go to the FP+ without them.

We did, knowing that we had the extra time, even though it'd be cutting it a bit close if they took too long to get back to us, so Marie fibbed a little and said she managed to move it back 30 extra minutes after first talking with Traci.

042_zps128b7820.jpg

Merranda's waiting face looks like mine, only I'm more annoyed.

043_zpsf6b4dc15.jpg

Another Castle picture.

Finally though, they arrived and luckily we didn't have far to go or we totally would have been late.

Where were we headed?

044_zps6b868a7a.jpg

Actually, no. Not yet. Though that wait time is still crazy.

Instead, we opted for the 'less popular' choice and ended up over here:
045_zpscf2f2b87.jpg

Rapunzel was Veronica's solo meet of the trip since we weren't sure we'd manage to get to Mulan.

046_zps40cdfecc.jpg

At first she wasn't so thrilled with the situation.

However, that quickly wore off and they took some adorable pictures together.

047_zpsa51e1b9c.jpg

Like this one!

048_zps1d188a3c.jpg

And then we all hopped in.

Rapunzel was probably one of the better characters at handling our large group. She did a bit better with just Veronica, but she was still awesome with all of us.

049_zps8173f226.jpg

Rapunzel wanted a group hug before we left, so we gladly obliged.

Next was Cinderella, and though she was nice, I can't tell you a single thing about the meet.

050_zpsa3fa3fd0.jpg

I think mostly it was brief and sweet where we got our picture and then moved on.

bummer for missing the welcome show - thought at least you got to see some of it.

Good job getting to all the mountains so early! That guy on your Space Mountain ride photo is great ... kinda reminds me of the look the "how you doin'?" guy on So You Think You Can Dance gives (ok, since like 1% of people probably get that reference ... here is a youtube link (skip to 0:40) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1hCXie14Dg)

Sorry that Eli and Traci were late but glad you made your FP+ time and that Punzie was good with your group!

Staying in bed??? I guess to each their own but BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Hehe, love the kid in your SM photo. :thumbsup2

Oh man that Anna/Elsa line. Crazy. While still long, I don't think I saw anything like that in September.

Ah yes AWESOME Splash photo. Love it!!! And the Mountain tri-fecta conquered. Well done!

Rapunzel group hug. That's so cute. I'll assume she's there somewhere. :goodvibes

Love the Anna bow :thumbsup2

HAHAHA that guy in your Space picture is fantastic.

Love the Splash picture!! We had the same issue, our map was destroyed when we did that picture, but there are tons everywhere so nbd.

Oh my gosh, I really thought you were going to see Anna and Elsa and I was like…HOW COULD THEY BE LATE FOR THAT?!

Aww such a cute group hug!

I feel one of the deciding factors for me sleeping in was that Eli had opted to stay behind, and I didn't want her to be on her own. Also, with some of the meds I take if I don't get enough sleep I start to feel really sick, but I honestly think I stayed for Eli. I don't regret that decision because it just felt like the right thing to do, but I do wish that I had attended those early hours. Especially with knowing they saw Alice and the White Rabbit, be still my beating heart, be still.

Looks like a fun morning overall! Sorry you had to wait so long for Eli; I know how frustrating moments like that can be.

I saw most of it, it's just everyone else that didn't ;)

Thank you for the link because I totally did not get the reference. But now that I do, I agree.

C'est la vie in a group. At the time it was really annoying though

I'm all for staying in bed at the right times, but definitely was not that way my first trip to Disney.

He was an A+ ride buddy :thumbsup2

I don't think I did either but I think that it probably helps that they're starting to lose a little bit of newness and having been in HS also probably helped too.

Thank you :goodvibes We were all quite proud. It was an awesome way to start the morning.

She was right in the middle on the other side.

Love the Anna bow :thumbsup2

Hayley is very talented with the bows.

We joke that it's really his picture and we're just in it.

Truth and it's worth it to ruin a map if you get the great picture ;)

Things would have gotten really real if they'd been late for an Anna and Elsa FP :rotfl:

You really didn't have to stay behind for Eli. Like, I think the most important lesson that this trip taught was don't feel obligated to do things for other people.

We did have a super fab time, so it is a bummer you weren't there.

Maybe next time you can see Alice with the White Rabbit ;)

Looks like a fun morning overall! Sorry you had to wait so long for Eli; I know how frustrating moments like that can be.

It was a fun morning overall. The four of us had a really great time and just like were going. Lots of laughing and lots of good moods to start things out.

However, I can't lie, the frustration and stress of someone being late did not help. Oh well

Your trip reports are awesome!! I have a friend reunion coming up in one week so this seems like good preparation (acknowledging that things can go wrong, we might get annoyed with each other, etc.) This report is really fueling my excitement! :earsboy:

Well first things first :welcome:!

And secondly, thank you! :)

I think that's key, to remember that things can (and likely) will go wrong at some point or another. I do hope that you have an awesome trip with your friends though and that there is far less drama in your trip than there was in ours. pixiedust:

Day 5, Part 3: "Now curtsey and tell me how handsome I am."

Once we'd finished with meeting the princesses, we headed toward our lunch destination. It was fairly early still but I like early lunches. It means I can skimp on the worst meal of the day, breakfast, and not be hungry for too long.

And where were we headed for lunch?

WpaPqXa.jpg

Be Our Guest!

We'd managed to set up FP+s for the meal, so we got to bypass that lovely line on the right. Sorry people.

btp6ix9.jpg

Looking at the clouds in this picture really helps set the mood.

ZtqcMGo.jpg

Once inside, we all split up to go to the ordering stations and get our food ordered. Of course Marie and I got sent to a machine where the people in front of us decided that they needed to take forever and a day. Isn't that always the case, though?

Originally, we'd tried to head to the West Wing, but as luck would have it, there were zero open tables and even less options for a group our size. Not wanting to sit in the Ballroom again, we instead headed over to the Rose Gallery.

wU1NZfw.jpg

We grabbed a circle table in the corner that could seat us all and waited for the food to arrive.

vVYYhV7.jpg

Merranda's food arrived first and she got the Tuna Niçoise Salad as well as the Lemon Meringue Cupcake.

7GSODKn.jpg

Veronica had the Quinoa Salad and the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake.

JWTGtWW.jpg

Marie and Traci both opted for the Carved Turkey Sandwich. Marie had a Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake with hers too.

vbforvs.jpg

Eli got the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich and a Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake.

Y7WwW2v.jpg

I had the Braised Pork again because I'm picky and it's delicious.

B6AYt4R.jpg

And Traci and I also split a Chocolate Cream Puff.

Overall, we all left extremely happy with our choices. I mean, extremely happy. Everyone ate pretty much all of their food and we were on a high.

Except when we went to walk out and discovered that it was down pouring. Somehow, we were really surprised by this development despite the clouds that looked so ominous before we entered.

So, we stood around for a few minutes with everyone else and then donned our ponchos to head off.

Originally, we were planning on heading off to meet Ariel, but checking the times guide, we saw that we were close to when Gaston was going to be coming out so we decided to go and get in line for that. Which turned out to be an excellent decision.

Not only did the rain pass quickly, it was barely misting by the time that we got over to Gaston's line, but he was hilarious.

A girl in front of us was engaged and he drew attention to it really quickly. He held up her hand and said. "Who do you belong to? This ring is a down payment!" We were all cracking up so hard by the time that we reached the front.

Everyone in the group got to pick someone as their solo meet for the trip and I picked Gaston because I knew that he'd be hilarious. So, I got a little bit of time alone with him and there may have been some swooning.

dKSUHPp.jpg

ewtEOgp.jpg

What can I say?

snRgtj7.jpg

Everyone else was cracking up watching us though. Except Marie, who was less than impressed by my interest, but c'est la vie.

Then the rest of the group joined us and it continued to be magical and hilarious.

Gaston told Traci to look into his eyes, but she looked at his chest and he goes, "Hey, my eyes are up here!"

cmO502D.jpg

So Traci tried to explain she was just short.

lkXBfY4.jpg

And had an amazing face in this picture. The girl steals pictures like no one's business.

79gQcKm.jpg

Gaston just kept talking and we were all giggling so hardcore.

LA12QYN.jpg

Except he made a comment that I don't remember and Merranda's face sums up her reaction.

When we went to leave he goes, "Now, curtsey and tell me how handsome I am. Then you can go."

So we did and set off in a fit of giggles so hardcore that you'd have thought we were a bunch of middle schoolers.

After that we went to use our FP+ to meet Ariel. See, when we'd made our FP+ selection originally Anna and Elsa weren't an option. So we made one for Rapunzel and one for Cinderella, but when the two became combined you got a 'super FP+' that was just good for a number of attractions at any time you wanted. So, we decided to use it to meet Ariel since there were girls who had wanted to meet her.

It was probably about 5 minutes until we were swimming to meet the mermaid.

QAhCEOP.jpg

Some of us were amused by her.

72AQYRQ.jpg

And then not so much.

gBIC8eZ.jpg

But oh look, amused again!

IhYLTR9.jpg

Overall she was a good meet. Obviously not as good as Gaston, but what can you do?

The skies had completed cleared up at that point and we walked over toward the Storybook Circus area, where we decided that we should do a classic with the girls.

EtQC097.jpg

Dumbo!

The wait said 5 minutes but it was totally a walk on.

cNH4ZVc.jpg

Look at the sun being so bright that Marie and I had to squint.

0hyt0Eu.jpg

Riding partners. I didn't notice that Eli hadn't fully turned around when I took the picture because of the sun. Also, I love that Veronica looks too cool for this experience.

HDCXusf.jpg

During the ride Marie and I took some we-sies together. Quite a few more and chatted just the two of us, which was nice.

Click for next post

Ugh. I do have a knack for getting behind the people who don't know what to order. It's a gift.

Haha, I assumed you were expecting rain.

Awww was Marie jealous?? I really enjoy watching Gaston. Just way too funny. It must be so much fun to be Gaston. He's the only one that could get away with that stuff.

Yeah, Ariel doesn't have quite the same material to work with, but I'd still personally meet her over Gaston, lol.

Hmmmm, I wish September's rain went away as quickly.

All the food looks awesome! I really have to try the Braised Pork, but I'm so attached to the Croque Monsieur. It looks amazing though so one day I will have it!

Excellent choice on Gaston as a solo meet!! He is seriously perfect.

Ariel is adorable, but I'm not sure anyone can top Gaston.

Great choice for lunch - love the pork and very glad everyone was happy with their choices and full

Great choice for your solo meet - Gaston has some great material and is a very fun meet.

Super nice that you got some time with Marie on Dumbo... I am sure she was glad to have that time to get Gaston off your mind ;) Also, very nice We-sie!

Well, you have just solidified my determination in getting a FP to eat at Be Our Guest for lunch! Everything looks wonderful! My dinner there was kind of meh, so I'm interested in trying out lunch!

Yay for Dumbo we-sies. :goodvibes
