"I bet they get Charmin" A May 2014 Girls Trip **04/03 THE END**

Day 3, Part 7: "I told you everyone knows this song!"

Having seen that we could really do The Great Movie Ride, we decided that we were just going to wait until we could get into the Fantasmic viewing area.

So we headed over to the Cantina Eddie's sitting area and decided just to chillax.

I took out the camera and also snapped some lovely pictures.

058a_zpsb810f89f.jpg

Here is Traci being unimpressed by my need to document.

058b_zps4810fb38.jpg

And still. But now Veronica and Marie are looking at her.

059a_zps80ab6022.jpg

Checking out the pin halls thus far.

During this time we also drank some water and some of us chatted with others. You can imagine who was chatty and who was not.

It did the trick though to make us feel like we were sort of doing something and it didn't take long until we were able to head in to get our seats for Fantasmic.

Our seats.

We-sie of Marie and I.

So during the pre-show they did the sing off like usual and our side got Don't Stop Believing. Here's the thing. I had just made Marie listen to the song a few days before we left because I told her that it was practically criminal that she'd never heard it and that everyone knows that song.

She thought I was exaggerating.

Let me tell you, once everyone was singing along to the song though, she quickly realized how right I was and I did give her a sort of 'I told you so' look that made her roll her eyes at me.

Sorry love, I don't exaggerate ;) Everyone knows Don't Stop Believing

And then we settled in to enjoy the show. It was nice to see it with people who hadn't seen it before just to hear their reactions.

I also snapped some pictures. Happy that the people in front of us were wearing Glow With the Show ears. (I also had mine on)

When we were exiting the show it started to rain a little bit and Eli was all for going back to the resort. Which, i was not all for as I'd already missed park time and leaving with a group of Fantasmic go-ers was not on the original plan.

Luckily, Merranda also wanted to go due to staying out the night before so she left with Eli.

That left Marie, Veronica, Traci and me to decide what to do. First we headed over to TSMM but the wait was still 50 minutes and while we originally got into the line, we quickly turned around and decided that we didn't want to do it.

Instead, we made our way over to Star Tours. Marie double checked that it would be okay with Veronica this time, who was for it. So we walked on and had the Wookies.

Afterward, we went to go sit over at the Backlot Express outdoor seating area and talked for a few minutes. Marie didn't want to stay later because it was kinda meh and she was tired. Veronica also was getting sort of tired, but Marie also didn't want to split up again.

Ultimately, I promised her that it'd be fine and she and Veronica left to head back to the resort.

This left just me and Traci and we had one goal in mind. We were going to ride RnRC again because we wanted to complete the deadpan challenge and because Traci wanted to get a shotglass there for her dad.

So, we decided that we'd do that and then leave, hopefully missing the bulk of the crowds and especially those high school students.

067_zpsbfeb959b.jpg

As you can see, it was pretty empty.

In fact, we managed to walk on.

Heck, we even managed to deadpan the ride. And then of course, the guy in front of us had to put his hands up. I hate it when people do that. Like, if you're in the back of a car, fine, but otherwise you're going to block other people. Be considerate.

068_zpsc53773ef.jpg

This was the result. Yep, it looks like his fingers our in our noses.

We got off, headed to the gift shop and when we exited the second showing of Fantasmic was just letting out. Crap, that was bad timing.

Plus, I'd wanted to buy a shirt. So, we booked it up toward the entrance, I stopped to buy my shirt and then we left.

We got into line and I noticed a lady in an ECV who had a leg brace trying to get into the regular section of the line after us. Trying to be helpful, I suggested that she use the handicapped entrance at the end so that she could be let on first. Well, she got a bit snappy with me, saying that she'd tried to do that earlier and the bus driver hadn't let her board that way and had made her go through the regular line.

I told her that it was very strange that it had happened and she should try to use it again and fight the driver if he said anything because she should be boarding that way.

I could tell that she was annoyed and possibly thought I was trying to get her into trouble but she did it anyway and just as I thought, the driver let her on with no problems.

In fact, when I got on and saw her she even ended up thanking me and apologizing for her snappiness. Which I didn't blame her for. I mean, honestly, I would have been annoyed too with that other driver.

Unfortunately, there was someone else on our bus. And by someone else, I mean that high school class again. Of course. Tried to miss them and ended up with them. Oh well, we were ahead of them again and got seats so I didn't really care too much except for the fact that they were being as loud as you'd imagine high schoolers surrounded by their friends to be.

We made our way back to the hotel, where Traci and I split up as she wanted to stop for some chocolate milk and I just wanted to get back to the room. I made it back a few minutes before she did, looked at the photopass pictures with Marie and then we all headed to sleep.

Sorry, Marie. She's right. EVERYONE knows that song!
Enjoying the TR, despite the drama. Ugh!!!

I just got so excited looking at your ticker! We are getting close!!!

Um... yes... EVERYONE knows Don't Stop Believing. They said so on Family Guy.

Ahhh Fantasmic. I love to see this show with an enthusiastic crowd. It makes such a difference.

Glad you stayed this time. That would have been so wrong if you were "forced" to leave.

OK first, AWESOME deadpan. And second, while I detest the arms up in front on ride photos so much now... OMG the fact that his fingers are up your noses almost makes it forgiveable. :rotfl2:

Seriously, what are the odds you would end up on the same bus as that group AGAIN?

Okay, so the guy with his hands up, I will admit I was slightly annoyed, only because we seriously managed the dead pan, and we managed it so well!! However, earlier in the trip I was a part of the group that had put my hands up and blocked out the faces of the group behind us. Which was unfortunate. And especially after this guy, I repented of my sins full heartedly.

Also the fantasmic show was amazing. I loved it. I didn't pay attention to the glow with the show ears, just because that show had my total interest. And yes everyone know Don't Stop Believin it was really fun to belt it out, much to Marie's dismay.

And lastly that group of highschool kids would have been fine. However, this one girl was trying to flirt with a guy, that was not interested in the least, and so she kept leaning over to touch him or be close to him as he kept moving away. Anyway this resulted with her hair in my face, a ton, and I being sassy would blow the hair out of my face and she would give a huffy sigh, but ultimately she would stop, for a moment, before going back to doing it again, and I would repeat the process.

Yeah - everyone knows Don't Stop Believing .... Plus Glee did it like 17 times

Glad you got to stay and got more park time and even a walk on to RNRC ... Bummer about breaking up the Deadpan pics, but in isolation that is a pretty funny ride photo.

Ugh , overtired, flirty high schoolers crowding the bus does not seem like fun

Actually shocked Marie has never heard Don't Stop Believin'. I sort of feel like I was born knowing all the words to that song.

That's awesome that people had Glow with the Show ears on in front of you!! I never get to see many and I think they're so cool. My CM friend got to see a special Fantasmic where EVERYBODY had them on (I think it was for advertising purposes) and I was so jealous.

NOOOO so lame that that guy had his hands up. You look hilariously deadpan though.

I could totally understand why there would be confusion with ToT! Back in the day, they used to do the commercial advertising it like you totally stand up. Completely misleading. :rotfl:

Sometimes it's good to take the "pretend nothing's wrong" approach for a while. I think it's better than risking flaring up the issue again.

OMG, that kids pizza takes up such a small portion of that tray. That's pretty funny.

Marie didn't know Don't Stop Believing until a few days before your trip! You are right, everyone knows that song. :rotfl2:

Nice deadpan faces! Even with the fingers up your nose. Hahaha.

♫ Don't stop, believing!!!!♪ Seriously, everyone knows that song, LOL!!! I love the deadpan faces, fingers up noses and all.

Okay, first of all, I'd like to say this: Sooooorry I grew up in French Canada, listening to French Canadian music because that's what my mom listened to, and The Beatles and SuperTramp because that's what my dad listened to. No 'Don't Stop Believing' in my house. No shame :rotfl:

Sorry, Marie. She's right. EVERYONE knows that song!
Enjoying the TR, despite the drama. Ugh!!!

I just got so excited looking at your ticker! We are getting close!!!

Yeah, the drama still ticks me off to think of sometimes, because without it it would have been a perfect trip. But oh well, what's past is past.

And I knooooow! 19 days to go!

Fantasmic gives me goosebumps every single time, especially the finale. Disney is so, so great at nighttime shows finales.

I didn't really like being separated from Amber because we'd never done anything Disney apart, but I was just too tired, and I didn't want her to have to leave if she didn't want to. Hopefully, it won't happen too often again though. Disney isn't the same without my wife

I was so incredibly amused when I saw that picture. Even now when Amber gets annoyed over his ruining their perfect deadpan face, it just cracks me up.

They had a case of bad luck. I saw it coming though - not necessarily the high schoolers, but I got back to the resort and thought, they are totally gonna get stuck with the crowds leaving the second Fantasmic showing.

I think you girls just don't appreciate fully the amazingness he brings to the picture. Deadpan is a challenge, but doable. Fingers up the nose though? What are the odds!

There was no dismay about Don't Stop Believing being belted out. I like the song. I just didn't know it.

Oh, high schoolers. They are such a kind of their own. Even when I was in high school those kind of kids were foreign to me.

Well, I don't watch Glee ;) I don't know, it's just not as widely spread around here I guess?

It is a hilarious ride photo. They just have to accept it :P

Probably better than tour groups, though!

We were at Disney when they premiered the ears for Wishes, but not Fantasmic. And seeing as they didn't just give a pair to everyone at MK like they did for Fantasmic, it didn't have quite the same effect. Still awesome though!

It's okay, because - spoiler alert - we managed it again later on. So now we have a good deadpan picture, and a hilarious one :P

That would have been terrifying. And painful. There would be so many people leaving DHS on stretchers, can you imagine?

I just didn't want the mood offset again. Usually I'm just pretty obnoxious about changing the subject, too, if the conflict is ongoing and I just want the conversation to stop because it doesn't appear that it will any time soon.

It is teeny tiny, and yet Amber's like, that's plenty enough. I guess we'll see if she's right when we go in a few weeks!

I maintain the fingers up the nose is the best part of that picture

♫ Don't stop, believing!!!!♪ Seriously, everyone knows that song, LOL!!! I love the deadpan faces, fingers up noses and all.

In the US they probably do :P And anyone who's watched Glee. I do not belong to either groups :P

That pic from rockin roller coaster is perfect! Seriously it's like it was planned. That's great you guys had like no wait, feel like that's a line that moves verrrry slowly

That pic from rockin roller coaster is perfect! Seriously it's like it was planned. That's great you guys had like no wait, feel like that's a line that moves verrrry slowly

It is, isn't it? I personally love it.

And we actually lucked out pretty well with that ride this trip. Granted, we never really got in line when it was a long wait, but still!

Day 4, Part 1: "The wheels on the bus go round and round"

We'd set the alarm that morning for 7:45, with the intention of being out of the room by 8:15. Clearly, that did not happen as Amber noted the TR journal with "I'm writing this at 8:23". Oops.

We still ended up making it out fairly quickly after that (I mean, you're talking about a group of six girls here - of course we're never gonna get out on time) and I headed over to the concierge desk, because I had to put up the credit limit for the charges to the room. Values only give you a credit of 500$ to start with, but seeing as we were paying all meals out of pocket, that obviously wasn't gonna roll. It thankfully didn't take too long, and we soon headed out to wait in line for the bus.

The bus driver was another pretty awesome one - he sang Happy Birthday to everyone who had birthday buttons (not one at time, obviously, but just a general birthday call) and then went on to sing The Wheels on the Bus. There was some facepalming, but we were mostly all glad to join in, because well... why not?

001S_zpse0861230.jpg

We soon made it to our park destination of the day - Epcot! Yep, the only park we hadn't been to yet.

002_zps11769189.jpg

Such a sight. We've missed you, Spaceship Earth!

We made our way through the bag checks pretty fast, and were inside the park only a few minutes after opening, so ultimately, our early morning call worked out pretty well!

004_zpsc6c0ae0c.jpg

At that point, we were in a rush, so Amber proceeded to take a blurry picture (as she does) of the topiaries in the front of the park - because the Flower and Garden festival was ongoing still!

This one's a little better

005_zpsc62c2627.jpg

She just does the 'snap a picture and walk' thing, but our camera doesn't handle that too well.

006_zps2960eb1d.jpg

So many pretty flowers! I am gonna miss the sight of them in September, but all in all, F&G will have been part of only a quarter of our Disney trips, and as it wasn't a part of the first one, it won't be too big a shock to miss out. Plus, we're gonna get to eat and drink around the world instead! I love nature, but Food & Wine trumps Flower & Garden any day.

007_zps4e6976be.jpg

At that point, we had a specific plan in mind. With the lovely tiering system Disney has thought necessary to implement at Epcot, with all five of the rides they have (okay, I'm exaggerating... but you get the point), we were only able to make a FastPass+ selection for one of the bigger rides we wanted to get on that day.

That meant we had to do a mad morning dash to the one ride we didn't have a FastPass for!

008_zps35a14e9c.jpg

Can you tell which one we left up to fate?

009_zpsb5d1eec6.jpg

Getting a little closer...

010_zps197bff70.jpg

And here we are!

012_zps956ea780.jpg

We were headed for Soarin'! Which, mad dash was slightly less dashy than anticipated, because unfortunately, poor Traci was having some issues with her feet early on in the trip. They were getting swollen to an uncomfortable degree, and it made walking painful for her, but she powered through (I tried to wait a bit for her, so I kinda walked in between the front group and her in the back as we headed over) and we made it in a good enough amount of time.

013_zps083fe36d.jpg

The Land! With your prettiness and your nice smells. How lovely you look on this sunshiny morning!

God I miss Disney

014_zpsd760ec0d.jpg

And here we come! It's time to take off, guys!

015_zps58ae5d29.jpg

Well, in about twenty minutes. Which, you know, isn't that bad a wait for Soarin'.

017_zpsc562d731.jpg

Fun fact - this was our very first time waiting in the standby line for this ride. Every other time we've gone on Soarin', we had a FastPass. We got to try out the little game they put up on the wall, which was a bit confusing at first, and we didn't do super well, but it did pass the time pretty well.

For the first time ever (also), we got sent over to Terminal 2! I know, super exciting right?

They brought us forward to load us into the first bay area, but they had miscounted - there were only a few spots open here and there, which totaled up to five people being able to join in, and I wasn't gonna have the group be split up. In the end, they brought us over to the second bay area, so we actually got to be in the front row, middle section - double yay!

Soarin' is my happy place. I feel so much happiness being on that ride, the smells, the wind, just the whole experience makes me happy. I don't know why, really, but it just does. Amber is scared of the ride, but she does it with me because I do Dinosaur with her. Compromise!

I can't really remember how the other girls enjoyed it. I don't think it was a favorite with anyone, but I also don't remember anyone being specifically against the idea of riding it again.

Once we were done with the ride, we had another first to get right on, though this one was planned.

020_zps444d3bd9.jpg

Sunshine Seasons! That's right, we'd never eaten there before. Amber isn't really a fan of any of the actual food options on the menu, and although I could probably find myself something, I just think there are much more interesting places to eat at around Epcot.

However, we have nothing against breakfast there!

Traci went ahead and got herself a cinnamon roll, which she was very pleased with from what I remember.

018_zps09873416.jpg

Merranda got herself the breakfast potatoes, which she also deemed to be a good choice.

019_zpsda0a94bb.jpg

And then Eli, Amber and I all went for the strawberry shortcake option! Eli got her own, and Amber and I split one. It was most definitely a delicious decision.

021_zps981feff7.jpg

With food out of the way, we got up to head on our way, and of course were stopped by shiny, glittering pins.

022_zpsaacc0b84.jpg

Well, most of us anyway.

023_zpsc4a1f370.jpg

With trading done with, we headed back out of the Land and onto our next ride destination - or so we thought (minor foreshadowing).

We came across Chip and Dale who were headed off on break to get an acorn smoothie along the way, and of course they were acting all adorable, so we took a picture.

024_zpsa33e5e88.jpg

Obligatory fountain picture!

026_zps6ac81fc2.jpg

There's a lot of those in Disney. I feel if we tallied up our fountain pictures with our character pictures, they'd be close.

Okay, maybe not. But still, there'd be a lot!

And now it's time for Test Track!

028_zpsc96608b9.jpg

Which, we did make it right about the time our FastPass opened up - but leaving from the Land, it wasn't actually our next FastPass. Knowing we'd try for the Soarin' dash, we'd set up a Living with the Land FP+ early on in the morning so that we'd get as many out of the way and then try to select a fourth one after our third one was used up. It didn't mess up that plan, since once your window is through it has the same effect for selecting a fourth one as if you'd actually used it, but still - all this careful planning, and we still managed to miss out on a FastPass.

Oh well, could've been worse!

029_zpsc1d72dec.jpg

Getting ready for some track testing!

Haha, I tend to do that a lot too... click and walk photos. Mostly as a guide for where I was when though since I never takes notes.

I'm the complete opposite. Epcot just looks so weird to me not in Flower and Garden season. Almost barren, lol.

I guess I feel a bit lucky in a way in that I really can take or leave Test Track which makes it much easier to decide on the Tier One FP.

Sunshine Seasons Strawberry Shortcake. Perfect.

How did I not even realize you hadn't been to Epcot yet?! I'm so observant aren't it? I LOVE Epcot <3 I think too many people underestimate it. Funny story, Dec 13 I got stuck on living with the land in the final tunnel, for about 45 minutes we kept hearing the same audio over. And over. And over. Finally we start moving (backwards, but we were moving) back into the greenhouse area, where we had to get off the boats and walk through the greenhouse through a back door, it was a cool behind the scenes experience!

Yeah for EPCOT! Tis my favorite park - but we wound up pushing it off oddly our most recent trip as well.

I too love Soarin' - though the film needs some updating - my daughter kept asking what different things were and about 1/2 the time my answer was "that is just a spot on the film - does look like a giant bug though"

"I love nature, but Food & Wine trumps Flower & Garden any day." ... could be my life motto :goodvibes

I'm guilty of the click and walk as well! Or just not taking enough pics. That too. :confused3

I'm going to try and spend more time in Epcot this next trip!

I would be upset with you too, then :P The worst part is that looking at the picture on the camera, it doesn't look blurry, and then you're like, ooh, nice picture! Then you get back, put it on your computer, and only then do you see it's all blurry and that's so frustrating.

I would probably feel that way too if we'd first gone to Disney during F&G, because it really is gorgeous, and I will miss the flowers on the water the most I think.

In hindsight, if Test Track was in any other park, we probably wouldn't like it as much. Epcot has a shortage of exciting rides though. It's much better in the dark!

It was so delicious. I'd been wanting to try it since our first trip, but we never stopped by. We may just have to make it a tradition now though! Breakfast at Sunshine Seasons :goodvibes

That's alright! And we do too, it's Amber's favorite park :) I think it's doesn't get as much love as MK because it just doesn't seem to have as much for kiddies, really. It is slightly more adult in terms of atmosphere, but I still think there's much more to do than people realize!

And that is cool behind the scene experience - though it probably would have been much cooler if it'd been 15 minutes after getting stuck rather than 45! I love Living With The Land, but not that much :P

Sometimes it just doesn't align. When we went in October, I feel like we didn't spend nearly as much time in Epcot as we could have. Then again, we did take a lot of breaks then.

It does. It's great to see all the cool scenery, but a new, non spotty movie would be awesome! I do believe I'd read somewhere they're working on it? Soarin' over the World rather than Soarin' over California?

I think it's a perfect way to view things :goodvibes

I'm guilty of the click and walk as well! Or just not taking enough pics. That too. :confused3

I'm going to try and spend more time in Epcot this next trip!

Noooo click and walk! Though, I can understand not enough pics. I feel like our next trip may not have as many, with it being our fourth time, having the Memory Maker and just being the two of us. Then again, I'm saying that, but Amber goes extremely camera happy when she wants!

You should, it's awesome!

Day 4, Part 2: "Okay, now we've got to book it."

We headed in and made our cars.

001_zpsef0c29d9.jpg

Veronica and Marie made this beauty.

002_zpsf599353a.jpg

Eli and I made this one.

003_zpscd7c8a4a.jpg

and Traci and Merranda made this one.

Being a group of six, we did get a car all to ourselves. Yay!

004_zpsa31c2814.jpg

Fun fact: Merranda dropped a pin just as the picture was going so she's looking down.

I don't know if you guys have ever used the picture areas at the end of Test Track? But we had too much fun with them.

They take three pictures and they're timed out.

005_zps59bec962.jpg

Notice Marie is absent because we were so bad at timing.

006_zps64f99364.jpg

Continuing to be bad at timing.

007_zps85e684ab.jpg

A little better.

Then we went on and moved to our next area where we did much better with our timing and pictures.

008_zpsd986860c.jpg

009_zpsf682cf87.jpg

010_zps191eedce.jpg

Such fab. Obviously.

Afterward each group did pictures with their car but those didn't turn out too well and we didn't get them sent to us except for Veronica and Marie's. Here's the highlight:

011_zpscdbdf535.jpg

The lighting needs work.

We spent a lot of time there, so when we got done it was almost time for our next FP+.

012_zps2fc83c80.jpg

Excellent placement of Buzz.

That's right, we decided that Mission Space was a good use of a FP.

Given that I always get motion sick in every day life, Marie and I decided that we'd go with the Green Side.

Our friends were more adventurous.

Being a group of two, Marie and I got pulled up a bit in the line which ended up working out perfectly.

The girls weren't that impressed with the Orange side even. We'd given them a bit of a warning from what we'd heard and they found it underwhelming.

Sorry.

After that we stopped at the FP+ kiosk next to Mouse Gears so Marie could make us FP+ for Test Track again later. Originally, the plan was to sit and wait on the benches for Marie to get done. Of course then everyone wanted to wander around in Mouse Gears instead and pin trade and shop and that would have been fine but we had a reservation that we'd need to get to and after the whole World of Disney disaster, I didn't want to let everyone wander around. So, I gathered them all up and made them sit outside.

I was resented. Especially when after a few minutes Marie still wasn't done waiting in line. Which, I have to admit, I was a little annoyed that people were annoyed with me and had wanted to wander around when we'd said that we had a reservation that we'd be cutting it close. Like, there was a reason for it. I wasn't trying to be mean.

Once the FP+ was made, we started on our way to our lunch destination and we were booking it.

I still snapped pictures though.

Marie complains about my click and walk, but it sometimes goes well.

It is so pretty here. I think I'll miss it in a few weeks.

Where are we going?

Gonna keep clicking and walking.

I did like this. It was really cool.

Continuing through Canada.

Winnie the Pooh!

At this point we're running a bit late. Will we make it to our dining reservation on time? And where are we going?

Hmmmm, of the 3 cars, I'd have to say your's and Eli's looks the most normal. :thumbsup2

I did not know about the picture area after TT. Interesting.

Wow, they found Orange underwhelming? Well I guess after the inital launch and the G forces maybe so.

I didn't know you could make an extra FP for a ride you already did that day. I just assumed it'd have to be something different. Good to know.

Ah look at you being the mom of the group. Nobody said being a mom was easy.
