I barely needed gas all summer, and now that I do....

It's going to keep going up again!
I remember how hard it was last spring when gas hit $2.13. I drive 16 miles each way to work. The only other person who works at my school and lives in my town (in another district) is someone who stays late, so I can't car pool (for child care reasons--she has no children at home).
Well I've been off since June 6, and have only had to fill up every 10 days or so instead of every 4. Gas, while up from last year, has been a bargain compared to last spring.
So what happens now that school is starting and I have to go back to work! Gas shoots up again!!!!!
It's just not fair. I don't know what else I can cut out of the budget unless I drop cable and go back to (gasp) a phone modem!

Not being rude, but getting to work is a whole lot more important than the internet connection. Wok usually has benefits, right? I do know that the rising cost of gasoline has also made for more expensive groceries, as well as a lot of other consumables. I haven't put gas in my car in about 6 weeks, I don't even know what the current price is here.

I would be more worried about the upcoming increase in cost of Orange Juice with the damage in Florida.

Would a 25 cent a gallon reduction make you feel better? If so, you would be saving $5-$11 a month depending on your car.

16 miles x twice a day x 21 days a month = 672 miles
672 miles @ 30 MPG(economy car) x $0.25 savings = $5.60 savings per month
672 miles @ 15 MPG(SUV) x $0.25 savings = $11.20 savings per month
