... exceptionally excited!!!! :cheer2:

Haven't told Rosebug yet. Need to think of a good way to tell her!

Edited to ask some questions:

Shareholders - we still have the initial 80 and my card is valid until next year. Can I still use it even though we don't have the new cards/more shares?

Auberge - are there any updates since last August? New princesses? Menus? Extras?

Inventions character buffet - any changes?

Dreams - will this still be on in Feb?

DLH - any specific room type to request - are requests often granted here?

Any other changes/news that I have missed during my year long absence?!

Thanks guys!

How about a reveal on Christmas Day? We did that one year for ours.

Yes, they said cards will still be valid until they have expired. It's only once your card's expired that you'll need to buy another 20 if you want to continue your membership.

You could send an email (or phone) about a week before with any requests. DH did this a week before we went with a request for either connecting or adjoining rooms and mentioned that it was my 50th birthday and our wedding anniversary. We were given rooms with a lovely view of the top of the train station and BTM, whether this was coincidence or down to him mentioning it who knows but it's worth a shot. Next time we stay at DLH (oh yes, there WILL be a next time ;) ) I'd like a room on the ground floor as these have lovely little patios.

I've answered what I can. :goodvibes

Thanks guys!!!!

Elaine - I had thought about Christmas Day; we announced her birthday trip last year on her birthday - but the next few months are going to be hard on Rosebug while they get her medication right and having bloods every 2 weeks. We were thinking this may be a way to get her through all that - a friend has suggested I make an invite from Tinkerbell and ask the nurse or consultant to give her it before her next lot of bloods. But I am unsure incase this spoils the excitement by following it with a trauma (it is a real trauma for her!)

Sounds like you had a lovely room at the DLH Elaine - hopefully DH will send his magic email again; that seemed to work so well in August! LOL! All I would like is a room with a half decent view (ie: not a roof) and would love it if we could hear the park music!

Randomly - this morning an advert for DLP came on and she announced "Oh I would love to go back and stay in the pink hotel" :lovestruc:wizard:

Whatever the weather - it is going to be awesome!

Congratulations on your booking :goodvibes

Lucky you at the DLH :cool1::woohoo:

As for the reveal - would telling her soon and then getting a small thing every month or so from now until the holiday help? Like a book to take or new t-shirt etc - you could maybe co-incide this with her blood tests

I'm sure she'll be over the moon whenever you tell her :)

I feel very lucky - it has pushed our savings more than we would have liked but got the 2 nights free so it was as good a deal as we would ever get so thought sod it ... she deserves a treat (and after seeing how hyper this medication is making her - we do too! The doc said it would give her more energy - she had enough already!!!!)

Love the idea of a small something for the holiday each time her bloods come round. Will have a chat with hubby tonight. We may not tell her we are staying at the DLH until we arrive?!

Love that idea! Going to have to come up with something quick before hubby explodes and blurts it out to her!

He always told me I was just a snob for wanting to stay at the DLH - but since we booked he has sat babbling on about how he can't wait to stay there and how excited he is! ;)

Haha! Good job you don't live with us - I keep squealing "Disneyland Hotel!" to hubby! :rotfl: I feel so off kilter atm - all knotted up inside; the only thing keeping me from being a miserable grump is this trip!:goodvibes

Lol - thats the special secret trip buzz that has you bouncing around like Tigger drinking red bull. Love that feeling but I do tend to burst and tell them early. Im thinking of keeping the WDW trip in 2015 a secret but theres just too much planning I dont think I'd be able to hide it

We are going to tell her very soon; just to think of the perfect way to tell her (still pondering all the ideas) BUT we are not going to tell her that we are staying at the DLH so it is a surprise when we get there!

We are planning WDW in 2015 too - although this may have put it back to 2016!:rolleyes1 When are you planning going?

We are planning 6th Oct for two weeks at either PO or CSR. Just finished the unofficial guide! Bet on reading for at least a month. Whats your plans pet? Oooh little Rosebug will be on cloud nine when she gets to the DLH!x

Wish we could do Sept/Oct time - but unfortunately stuck with summer hols as we want to do 3 weeks. We are planning 3 weeks in a Disney villa with some family who live in the US sharing the costs of the villa. Looks like we would be flying from Dublin as it is so much cheaper than flying Newcastle and even Manchester/Glasgow! By planning it out ourselves we can do 3 weeks with swimming with dolphins; passes for pretty much everywhere etc. for the price of a basic package from Newcastle. We just need to save!
