Southern California I aparrently have no clue about L.A.

It's so weird, we've been to Anaheim so many times, but this July we are coming to LA for something other than Disneyland I have no clue where to stay. We are going to a wedding downtown & then have a few days to do other stuff. We are thinking possibly Universal, Hollywood, Knotts, and I wouldn't be too offended if we snuck a Disney day in

Any suggestions about where to stay?

LA a is very large. You really named to know where you are going and stay nearby. Don't judge by miles. It can take more time than you think to get around.

Figure out your budget and what things you'd like to see. Will you have a car? Parking can cost a lot depending on your location.

we stayed at knotts resort. it was a short drive south to Disney or north to universal.

if you rent a car I suggest you get a GPS or Tomtom to help with driving directions.
