I am wondering about the hotel with the family suites

What are they called, i can't remember?
How much do they cost US?
What are the rooms like?
How long does it take to get to Magic Kingdom and the other parks?
We normally stay at the All Star Movies, but am wondering about having a suite so that when dd goes to bed we can still stay up and watch TV.
What about renting a house? Dh's parents are coming with us so we would need a 3 bedroom house. I am wondering about price and time it takes to get to parks. Anyone with any experience with these accomodations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think you are probably thinking of Holiday Inn Family Suites, also referred to on these boards as HIFS. If you do a search you will find tons of info. on them. We stayed there in early Dec., 2001. We were a family of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids). All of us loved it. I have not stayed at the Allstars, so I cannot compare. I can tell you that the suites at HIFS are much bigger than the rooms at the Allstars, and you also have the 3 separate sleeping areas and a kitchenette and living area. The prices vary according to when you go and what rate you can get. You can check the prices through Dreams Unlimited, right on this site. Alternately, here is a direct link to their website:

We are renting a 3 bedroom condo through closesttodisney.com for a price that was cheaper($69) then HIFS($102), at Windsor Palms. I did a search of Windsor Palms here on the boards and haven't heard a complaint yet.
