The Christmas tree exchange works really well. Over the years most of the glitches have been worked out. And it has gotten me thinking... (is gotten a word, and can I really think??)

I would like to do an umbrella/beach chair exchange for Hilton Head Island this summer (and summers to follow)

So I guess this is a test thread to see if enough people would be interested in doing it...

I am going to be purchasing a nice umbrella and chairs for our trip, and I just assume have other's take advantage of the money I am spending... lol And yes I realize the hazzards that could occur with an umbrella, but still thought this was an idea that could fly.....

Great idea! I did something similar at Vero last year and it worked out pretty well. We all kinda chipped in five or ten bucks each to the person who started the exchange and laid out the initial cash. People added items as the exchange continued like sand toys and noodles. Good Luck!!

I participated in the beach chair exchange at Vero a couple of summers past. It seemed to be a success. Just make sure that you OK everything with someone at the front desk/bellman stand. It is important to have their cooperation in stroing things between participating families.

I would love to participate! Here's hoping I can get the rest of my day by day ressie! So far, I have the last Sun in July! I am hopeful for Tues when I can con't my day by day ressie ( please keep your fingers crossed for me )! I am trying for a Sun thru Fri in a studio!

YEAH! I now have a Sun thru Wed stay! I just need 1 more night! I will call tomorrow for Thurs and I am all set! So, we will definetaly be there 7-29 to 8-2 ( hopefully 8-3)! We would love to participate!
