Nope, sure isn't! Apparently, this new Holly Hobbie is the original's granddaughter. She's a jazzed up, modernized version (still pretty wholesome and innocent though, thank God!). DD5 thinks she's cool. I'd much rather she play with the new incarnation of Holly Hobbie than any sort of belly-baring, makeup smeared Bratz stripper-in-training.
Well, I didn't have the sheets, you lucky girl, but I did have the bedspread. And the original style ragdoll. And maybe a metal lunchbox, but I could be wrong about that one.
Ooooh, Holly Hobbie!! I loved her- I had the sleeping bag, lunchbox, and doll. She was a rag doll with long braids, and she wore a long calico dress and apron with a sunbonnet. I used to think she looked a lot like Laura Ingalls- kind of an 1800's homesteader girl.
The new HH is more of a wholesome version of a Bratz/Barbie doll. I don't see any similarities besides the name.
My DD4 likes the new HH. I can guarantee though that she would not like the old HH. Too old fashioned for the kids these days. The DVD's are very appropriate and teach good values.
I miss the old one, too. I heard a commercial on TV one day and went running to the TV all like "hey, I had one of those!" and stopped short when I saw the new one. It made me sad.
