I know I live up NORTH, I know we always get COLD and lots of SNOW, but gosh this seems to be the coldest I can remember. Perhaps I am getting old, yes, for sure I am  I know we have had MUCH colder, but this seems to be hitting each and every darn bone, and it goes right through me.

Anyway this morning at 7am it was -15 and with the Wind factors, it was equal to -30 C. It has not warmed up at ALL. Right now it is -18 with about the same winds -30c. That is equal to about -22 F. The good news is it is supposed to break sometime tomorrow, enough to get us a dumping of snow ;), and come back towards the weekend. Repeat same scenario. We have only had one MAJOR storm this winter, so I know we have been lucky (knock on wood).

It is something to see here when the park rinks have NOT a kid in them, then you know there is a weather warning in effect, lol.

So, just that little vent. :)

Vent away!! I admire anyone who lives up north and endures that weather because I sure as heck couldn't do it. We lived in NC & in KY and I nearly FROZE in the winter. :rotfl2:

I hope you warm up soon!!:beach:

You have my sympathy...I'm in the mid Atlantic USA and I'm also freezing. Another reason to plan a WDW vacation!

I'll trade you some Sydney humidity for some snow;)

I have dreams about sitting at my window, sipping hot chocolate and watching the snow fall:cool1:
This year my christmas theme was "white christmas" which doesn't make much sense I guess in the middle of an aussie summer

Sending some hot weather your way:hug:

I'm cold here in the Mid-Atlantic. The older I get, the more I loathe the cold weather and the snow.

Every winter seems to get a little rougher. We can't move because of dh's job, but we dream of moving to FL. :lovestruc I know FL has cold snaps, but it isn't a whole season of cold and there isn't snow to shovel.

I am right there with ya!

I live in NC for a reason.....we have had FIVE snowstorms. That just ain't right! :)

I agree, this winter seems colder than others.

I would LOVE to move to Florida (well really Hawaii, but who can afford that ;) ) but my job is keeping us here.

Though i hate the snow and the cold, i will take it over the floods that parts of Australia are getting.

We still haven't had a big freeze in MN yet. We had a couple days where the windchills were -20 but not for days at a time. This week we are supposed to have highs in the single digits with -20--30 windchills-which is still "warm" for this time of year. Usually the 3rd week of Jan we have -20 air temps, etc.

I remember our first week living up here we went to an Independence Day clam bake on the beach.

In our parkas.

It hasn't been unusually cold here. We've had winters with 14 days straight where we dipped below zero. We've dipped into single digits perhaps a dozen nights so far this winter and there are a few more such nights coming up later in the week. It's just cold; no big whoop. It makes us appreciate the perfect summers we have up here, all the more.

I'll support you in your arctic misery..lol...we do not have it THAT bad, but basically, I have a 60 degree threshold, no matter what location I am in if it drops below that and no sun..:scared: Stay warm, hope the sun comes out for you, and vist the photography board,,,the awesome pictures on there distract me from the nasty crud outside my window. That being said, time to bundle up to head out and scrape off the van, there's a lovely layer of ice all over it and the snowplow knocked over our garbage can..happy happy joy joy. My bones are getting too old for this too.

Yep. This winter has been endless it's seems for us northerners. Endless cold and snow.

I'm in mn about a 100 miles south of golfgal.
And her forecast is right on.

I'm recovering from an auto rollover due to icy road conditions, and I'm really feeling housebound this winter.

Vent away my friend! I cannot stand the cold! I would never ever leave the house if I lived in Canada. NY is cold enough and imo too cold!

Yes, it has been very sad and usually at this time of the year we are dealing with bushfires.
We have friends that lost their home 2 years ago in bushfires and they are now facing floods in Victoria.

Hope all those in the snow get some warmer weather soon.

Brrrr! I grew up in Calgary and I went to the University of Calgary for my undergrad. I couldn't afford on-campus parking so I parked about a 20 minute walk away (where the parking was only $50 a year, as opposed to $300 a semester)... I remember having days where my eyelashes froze to my contact lenses during that walk, it was so cold. We're talking -35 BEFORE the windchill.

I moved to Seattle 4 years ago and now I can't handle the cold (or the hot, for that matter). Seattle normally only sees a range of temperatures between 40 degrees F in the winter and 65 degrees F in the summer. And I like it that way. :cool1:

Yikes-SCARY. I hope you are ok,

I don't usually feel like winter is "endless" until about the 3rd week of February, then I get the itch to golf and want the snow gone :lmao:.
