OK I just had to brag a little. I said I was going to get back on WW last Wednesday and while I was trying to eat a little better I was not really counting points very well and I still had not gotten on that darn treadmill.

Well yesterday I managed to stay on points (even with a big mistake at lunch yesterday) AND more importantly I dusted off the treadmill and walked for 20 minutes!!!! This is the first time I have been on the treadmill since October 2001 when I found out I was expecting DS!!!! :) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: My back has been bothering me but I did not let myself use that as an excuse not to walk (although I did have to spend some time with the heating pad last night afterwards :( ). I had forgotten how much I had gotten to enjoy that time on the treadmill. Now that I have reminded myself hopefully I can get myself back on a regular walking program.

I weigh in tomorrow and while I am not expecting fantastic results I hope to have at least lost a pound or two.

Thanks for listening.... :)

Good for you, Becka!!! I've been struggling myself. I'm on WW, but not measuring or journaling, so shame on me.

But congrats to you!! :)

WTG Becka! Sounds like you've internalized some really good habits more than you may have realized. The more I'm on this living healthy road, the more I see it as anything else that is good for you. You need to practice, and the more you practice, the easier it is.

Good for you, Becka!!! I've been struggling myself. I'm on WW, but not measuring or journaling, so shame on me.
There is no shame in not keeping to your "plan". Health is something we are committed to, and sometimes we over do it. (I know! I threw my back out Monday being overzealous with my strength training. My body's way of saying SLOW DOWN!) I never look at mistakes or setbacks as being shameful. Usually, there is a reason for it, and I just keep going like I never missed a beat. (Music lessons! I guess they were good for something.:p ) I find if I dwell on mistakes, my emotional relationship to food has it's foot in the door again, and that is where the trouble starts. Shut the door behind you and keep going. You'll get there!

Keep the Faith!

I'm proud of you too, Becka!!!! :)

Good for you! Treadmills are great inventions!!! Take good care of that back though. I want you to look forward to exercising because it feels good.

It's these day by day accomplishments that really lift our spirits and make us realize WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!! Hope your weigh in goes well!!!

And CC, listen to Tracy! I just want to say ditto what she said!!!

Great job Becka. :D

Just becareful with your back, you don't want to cause permanent damage to your back. :(

Keep up the great job.

:D

I'm really proud of you, Becka. Good for you walking even though your back was bothering you. I hope the heating pad did the trick.

Way to go, taking control like that!

Way To GO BECKA!!!!!!!!! I am soooo proud of you!!! Keep up the great work and take care of that back!!!

I am hoping that the walking will help my back. I am sure all of this extra weight and my flabby muscles are not helping it. I do have to be careful because I can injure it quite easily and so I am not going to start back up with sit-ups, etc. or do anything more strenuous than walking for now.

I started having back problems a few weeks after I was in a car accident (some moron plowed into the back of my car when I was at a stop light  ) and I have had to be careful since then about how I pick it up. Unfortunately I now find myself having to lift 20+ squirmy pounds (DS ;) ) quite a few times everyday. I have DH help out when he can but there are lots of times when I have to be the one to lift him and carry him around so I just try to be as careful as I can. I was not too careful this weekend and I picked him up wrong when I was playing with him and now I am paying for it.

Becka, that is wonderful news. I know it is so hard to get started again and great for you for making the choice. Pixie dust and wishes that you have a great weigh-in.

Hi Becka, great job getting back on the treadmill (and the picture of your cutie pie is adorable!)!!

Just wanted to suggest yoga for your back-- after I had my DS, my back was shot! Yoga was the only thing that really helped. I went to a class, but I also have a yoga "back care" video that I got at Costco.

I have a treadmill too and I noticed that stretching before and after (not too hard) helps alot.:D
