Hi,

I was inspired today when I saw that t-shirts were $2.50 each at Michael's so I bought 4 (for me, DH, DS11, and DD8) for our upcoming trip. I planned on getting a design and transferring it onto each shirt.

Now I'm home and reality has set in...I have absolutely no idea how to do it! Luckily I remembered the Disboards and I am hoping for a bit of help!

First, I have no idea how to find a design! I saw the sticky with links to the photo pages of different designers. If I find a design that I like, is it ok to use it?

If so, how do I get the design into printable form?

Next step... Obviously I would use an iron on transfer, but since I don't have a color printer, do I bring the transfer paper to a place like Kinkos along with the design on a disc?

Sorry my questions are so basic but I didn't realize how much I didn't know!!!

Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the addiction.:rotfl: If you find a design that is posted in a link or photobucket I would say it's safe to assume you can use it because that is why the designs were originally posted here.

Save the largest size of the image to your computer. Then, buy some transfer paper and find a friend with a color printer. (Kinko's may or may not print them for you do to "copyright issues".) Follow the directions on the transfer paper exactly and have fun!

There are a few more details but there is a thread around here with lots of tips somewhere. I think it is called something like "20 steps to making a t-shirt". Maybe some nice person will come along and post a link for you, if not it should be on the first page or two of this board.

Hi & Welcome ,

You may want to check out this thread (link below) steps listed .

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1772213

If you have any ? just ask someone will help you, if you find a design you like just ask on that thread if they will personalize it for you ( read First post on the threads some designers are not personalizing but if you ask myself or someone will add a name for you )

(Just wanted to add the link I posted was the link Kari was talking about, she must of posted while I was looking, Great minds think alike)

You most likely will end up with more designs than you will have days for:) This is soooooo fun..I can't wait for the kids to see the shirts I made for our upcoming trip:) Good luck:)

Thanks for the help. I think I'll have time to work on this next week -- I'm excited about the possibilities!
