my sons friend was going to come over and fix my computer. he works in a computer store, OK, so he comes over and sits here for over 2.5 hrs, gets his 75 bucks and my computer is worse. I had to restore the whole thing so I am back to starting all over. GD kid, I want my money back

So sorry to hear that he wasn't able to solve your problem for you. It can be truly frustrating. I am so thankful that my husband can repair our computer. Any idea what is wrong with it?

Gail, I am so sorry to hear your problems are not over with your computer. What a shame.

Maybe since it is your son's friend and you know him, you could ask him to come back and restore it for you. Afterall, you did pay him and he was the one who made it worse.

See, now I disagree with this. My DH spends all day at work fixing computers. That's his job. He gets paid.

But.....every night ....and most weekends....he's got someones computer here....OR he's at there house because they NEED him to fix their computer.

Example: DH just got home from a 1 wk business trip Friday pm - late. Sat am he drove over 2hrs to my dad's house, spent 6 hrs there, then drove 2 hrs home. He received NOTHING! Dad will slip him maybe $50 every 10th time or so. (DH fixes it....dad screws it up.)

My point: family & friends get VERY CHEAP labor compared to if they really had to pay someone.

Oh.....and there's another person now waiting for DH's computer repair skills.

He never gets a day off. Not to mention OUR expenses & phone bill. <sigh>

Sorry to hear yours is still acting up: our computer needs to wait its turn for service when it needs it. I know how frustrating it can be for things not to work.

SplshMtn99. I agree with you. I always pay when someone helps me. I just got upset that I paid to not get it fixed, I could of done that for free

Oh, I totally agree Gail. Don't get me wrong. DH does go back & fixes it again if he didn't get it right the first time.

Honestly, that's why he takes most machines home. He works on that each night. Sometimes he just can't make the machine do the problem or fix the problem in the 2 hrs that he's at someones house.

BTW.....what was the kid trying to fix?

SplshMtn99, My internet explorer would not stay it kept logging me off. Now it works after restoring the whole computer, it may be 3 yrs old but it is like brand new. I lost most of my thinks I saved on here but hell, it works now.
