I am seeing the Who, I have seen them before and they give a great show!

Of course, this time, John Entwhistle is absent :(

I love Pete Townshend, including his solo stuff. He is a great songwriter.

also...

Check your PBS listings: they will be putting on a Who concert on PBS at 11pm in the Philly area, set the VCR!

Hey GG! Are you going to see them in Camden? I heard oh the radio the other day that Robert Plant is going to be there with them. That struck me as odd. Is he touring with them? Do you know if he decided to tour with the band before or after Entwhistle's death?

Have a great time!!! :)

Yes I am - at the Tweeter Center.

Yes, Robert Plant will be with them, I THINK he's the opener, and yes it IS odd! I think this was planned before Entwhistle's death. But that's ok because I like Robert Plant too, I hope he does some Zeppelin stuff. :)

GG-

My boss and my co-worker just left to go see them tonight at the Tweeter Center in MA. (I feel a little left out, but that's another story). Have a great time!!!!

I have seen Robert Plant a couple of times live, and he is quite good.

I am VERY jealous.:( I remember when DH took me to see them. They put on a great show.

Have a wonderful time. :bounce:

Hey, I can remember going to their "Final Tour"- back in the early '80s in Philly. (I think it was at JFK) I guess it wasn't so final after all!

Yeah that was about 1981 or so, they actually had a top 40 pop hit with "Athena" LOL!

I saw them in 1989 at Veterans Stadium (JFK stadium had been torn down by then) on another "farewell" tour! :)

Well we got to concert, we had seats on the lawn, then an hour before the show, its started to POUR! We were soaked, and some people played and slid in a muddy spot on the lawn, til security put a stop to it. People said it was like Woodstock- LOL!

Fortuantely, the rain ended. Robert Plant did his set, he has a new album of remakes. To the crowd's delight, he did "Going to California"- a Zeppelin song. He did mostly his new solo stuff, though, it was ok.

Then the Who came on, and the really rocked! Their drummer is Ringo's son , Zack Starkey. The bassist that replaced John Entwhistle did very well. But Pete and Roger still are the main deal, and the put on a powerful show, with all the Who favorites. They did Pinball Wizard for the encore. Roger Daltrey looks GREAT, he doesnt age!! Before the show's start there was a video tribute to John Entwhistle, that was nice.

As a side note, I got home and watched through the night the news coverage of the miners' rescue. They mentioned on FOXnews, that the Pa Governor (or it may have been one of his people that were at the site) was supposed to be at the Who concert with his kids , but he had to be at the rescue site so he couldnt go!

FYI Robert Plant was scheduled to open some dates for the Who prior to the death of John Entwistle.

Thanks for the update, GG. Sounds like a good evening for you and Bob!!! Glad you had a good time. :sunny:
