If you have questions ask away. I saved navigators, debarkation breakfast dining times, laundry costs, and almost everything else!
I was going to post about the new ships, as they announced it on the ship, but I should have known the DISers would already know.

I am starting the dreaded rocking now that I am on dry land. I am not happy that I had to MAKE dinner, and now I have to clean it up too;) I have a sinking feeling there will not be a towel animal on my bed tonight, or chocolate either...

I'll definitely post a trip report, but I need to absorb the fact that I am home first...

Welcome back to land.

We will be leaving soon for our Eastern cruise.

Do you have the list of prices of Spa services? Someone in our group wanted me to try and find them.

Do you know which two days they have the Tea With Wendy?

Thanks for offering to answer questions.

I only went on a 3-night cruise and I had this problem from the time we got off for about 4 days. How long does this usually last and are there any remedies that speed up the process?

TIA!

You can take Bonine, but I usually just wait it out. It's a strange feeling, but not so bad that I can't function. My karate class may be a bit difficult with the rocking syndrome, but other than that, I'll deal with it.

I just pretend that I'm still on the ship. :lmao:

Sue - I am rocking too!!! I am sorry that I didn't make it to the meet up on the first day. I just went with the flow on the cruise and didn't stress if we missed anything.

Hi Sue,

I'm also sorry that I didn't get to the meet. There was only one person that I did get to meet and that was the other Debbie. She met my DH on the shuttle from Budget car rentals. I didn't even meet Vivian who was just down the hall from me. I just don't feel that a 7 day cruise is long enough!

We are also home and unfortunatly everything we left behind to do is still waiting for us. It also seems like I have to do a little retraining. I guess since we (meaning my DH) don't have to pick up, so that our Cabin Hostess doesn't think we (DH) are slobs, we now are leaving our underware on the floor in the bathroom.

My DH go sea sick, because he was too macho to take the Bonine before we got on the cruise. We ended up missing Formal Night but Ronald and Sonia made sure that I got my dinner. I told my DH, that I am always right and next time he better listen. It was the perfect time to tell him that because he was in no position to argue. :rotfl2:

Back to reality

We do have another cruise to look forward to on December 27, 2008. It's almost 2 years away, but it will take us that long to pay our cruise bar tab. :woohoo:

Debbie - I did think about you each time I passed by your stateroom and saw your little hearts on the door.

Hey Sue!

How's the rockin? I must be immune. After 14 days, the only thing that had me a little queezy was the van ride to the airport. No rocking here.

So . . . lets get going on that trip report!!! I can't wait to read your take on the same trip we shared.

And to the rest of you guys . . . . lets get those fingers moving on yours too!

Were the waters really rocky? We sail a week from today and I hope it isn't too bad. I get motion sickness too and I was hoping this time of year wouldn't be too bad.

DJ:

The Eastern is definitely more rocky than Western. It wasn't bad for me but some nights the cabin was creeking more than others. It was worse at night than during the day.

There were a few nights that water was sloshing out of the pools, and we had to close our bathroom doors because they kept banging:upsidedow . One night we had 20 ft seas. In a tiny boat it would have been quite frightening, but the ship is so big, so it wasn't too bad. Bring Bonine and you should be fine if the seas act up.

Sue:

We learned after the first night that you always close the bathroom doors before going to bed.

At night when I would hear the creeking, I would flip on the navigators channel and see what the seas were. There were quite a few nights of 13-20 foot seas. I never had a bad time walking down the halls though. I've been on prior cruises where you actually sway from one side of the hall to the other.

The seas on the Eastern won't keep me from cruising that itinerary again . . . I'm booked for 2/2/08 and its an Eastern. I really do prefer the western ports though.
