Back in September, I posted about my nephew being in out and out of trouble. Well, it seems that his last stint in jail showed him that jail wasn't the place he wanted to be for the rest of his life. He has studied for his GED. He missed one portion of the test so he has to retake that portion on Tuesday. Today he was sworn into the United States Army. I told him that he is now a real G.I. Joe (his first name is Joe). He is staying with us until he leaves for boot camp. I am so proud of him. But, yet I am now worried to death at the same time. I have always been close to my nephew. I feel like my own son has enlisted in the Army. So, it looks like in May I will be taking a trip to Oklahoma.

I'm glad he seems to be turning his life around! Sometimes it just takes awhile for them to grow up a bit!!!

Sounds like he has really turned his life around. I'd be very proud of him too. I hope he stays safe as he serves in the Army.

Awww, it's so nice to read success stories like your nephews. You have every right to be proud and scared. I will say a prayer that he is safe until he is home with you once again. :)

That is wonderful, doxdogy. Always great to see people make progress in their lives. And what a great way he is going!!!!!! Another proud person here. :sunny:

Congratulations to your Nephew! And to you too.. I bet his success has something to do with the fact that he has an Aunt who loves him and is supportive!
