For the first time in our school's history, the Nordonia Knights are in the state semi-finals. Friday night, they beat the Avon Lake Shoremen by a score of 58-32. And it wasn't that close. After three quarters of play, Nordonia was up 58-0. The Nordonia coach decided to put in the reserve players (aka freshmen) to play out the remaining quarter. I have got to give our coach a lot of credit for that. I suppose that he could have run the score up even more and perhaps even broken some Ohio high school football record, but he decided to let all the boys play and at the same time let the other team save face. No one thought that our team would get this far. Who knows. They could end up state champions.
