We got the DVC video in the mail and I got DW to watch it. I have been in favor of buying into the club since 1999 but she has been procrastinating.

Well after the video we talk and in her exact words "Jeremy it really is a good deal and it would allow us to go more often. So lets get rid of some of our Credit Card debt and then she if it is possible for us."

Here is what she will commit to: 200 points

That will give us a 1br at SSR for over a week in Dec when we always go. BUT WE dont usually go ever year so if we went every other year we would have around 400 every other. Is that right???

What do yall think about that?

Well, I think that's great!!

200 points is a nice total. And yes, you can bank them and have 400 points the next year. That would allow multiple trips, or a longer stay, or a larger accommodation if you need it for any reason.

We are looking to become SSR owners as well. We were just in WDW last week and love the Idea of DVC.

Also pretty much the same circumstance as you... want to pay a little bit more of our debt and then sign away on the dotted line!

We are looking at 150pts which will be more than enough during September/January/May trips.

Is Disney really hard to get financing through if you have a med/high debt to income ratio? or do they just ask for a bigger down payment (if so how much on the average?)
