I am going out of my mind in this house

It is soooo cold in NY. I work from home, so the only thing I leave the house for lately is to drop the kids at school. I sometimes go out on Saturdays, but this past Sat I ended up sitting home. I missed the 75% off princess sweatshirts at the DS, the 75% clearance at Target (twice-holiday & toys), and being a shopaholic and generally thrifty person, this bugs me a lot. My shut-in state is due both to the cold and the fact that DD1 has been sick, then teething the past few weeks. I don't keep in contact with many friends, so they have mostly drifted away. My shower is now frozen, we are having small $ troubles, and aside from being a cop, DH is a volunteer fireman. He has truck cleaning duty this month, so has been out more than usual. Also, I have to watch DD1 while I work (accounting) most of the time, which is no easy feat. She has not been sleeping well with the teething either. My job has been very demanding lately, and I have had headaches every day for almost a week. My house looks like a bomb hit it since I haven't had much time to clean.
I want to move to FL, but that may never happen. I have gained weight since I haven't had time to work out.

He y Frann you just described me and my house, however, I have 5 kids who are all slobs and my youngest are 4yo twins!!

Cheer up your not alone. Its SOOOOO cold here too I hate it.

Do you work at home also? I have 3 slob children (all girls), and one DH (enough said). How do you find time to keep your house clean, and your 4 year olds busy while you work? Do you have time for friends? Please give me the secrets.....

My house is rarely clean, unless I do it when everyone is asleep and that is the best time to clean.

The best thing about twins is they play with each other. They are boy/girl and very rarely fight.

So they dont bother me to much when im Dissing or Ebaying!!!!

My other 3 kids are a bit older, 12, 15, 17. However do not assume they help out in any way shape or form, this includes DH who does ummm NOTHING!!!

are as much work as my full time job.
How do we do it?
I am thinking of signing up for therapy just to get out of the house.
My kids sometimes help a very small amount (feed cat, empty dishwasher) or they don't eat, use the phone, or watch tv.

Yes I do hate the winter, I just said to my friend the other day, I dont understand why, when I was old enough to make the decision to move or buy a home, that I didnt choose to move to warmer climate. Before the kids were to rooted. Now the older ones flip when we talk about moving to Florida, which is what I really want!

I've had it with the cold!!

I dont go out unless I have to.

My kids dont do much unless I tell them they have to. Heavan forbid you pick up anything on your own!!

Ok now, GET OUT OF THAT HOUSE!!!!! It will do a world of good. Is there any way you can hire a sitter. You need a mental health night. Get out of the house, do something that makes you feel good. For me, I like to go shopping, buy a magazine and eat a nice lunch. Does wonders for me. Other people like to get out and get active. I know my neighbor likes to go to the casino's (not my idea of fun, but hey).

I know that money is tight right after Christmas but sometimes you just NEED TO GET OUT!!!

If I lived closer to you, I'd come clean your house and watch your kids for a while so you could get out. The best I can do is think some your way and offer you a big DIS . Hope you are able to get out soon - I go through Target withdrawal if I don't go at least browse once a week. And I don't even have any kids yet.

I am very appreciative that I have all of you DIS'ers that not only share my obsession, but are also willing to listen to me whine!

So, I picked up my mood yesterday, and.....................

DH needed to take my car for the rest of thee work week so his can be fixed, and school was cancelled for DDs due to the snow and cold.

Is this a test? Did I pass? Am I now allowed to go to WDW for a sanity trip?
