I am Can'twaittogo's DD. I am wondering what good rides are there for kids my age. I am so excited to go but I don't know what rides are good for me or to babyish. I love meeting charecters but have met Mickey 2 times already. Is Magic Kingdom to babyish for me? :confused3 I am so confused. What parks and rides are to babyish? :cheer2: pixiedust: :cool1:

the magic kingdom is not babyish. There are a lot of greast attractions that you will like. Try Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Philarmagic,Pirates Of the Caribbean, the Haunted mansion, Astro Orbiter. These are all great and there are many more to. I am 25 years old and I still go on all the kiddie rides too like small world and winnie the pooh. YOu just let your imagination run wild and have a great time.

At Epcot, Soarin, Test Track, and Mission Space are great.

At MGM, Rockin Roller Coaster, and tower of terror are must sees.

At Animal Kingdom try the safari, kali river rapids, and dinosaur.

These are just some of my favorites but there is a lot more to do as well.

Wow!! Thanks. We are going at Christmas and it will be fantastic. I have a friend and she has been to WDW. pixiedust: :cloud9: :grouphug: :cheer2:

Fodor's has a kids Disney World book that gives good explanations on the rides in all the parks. It's a good place to start to look at the rides and see what you might want to try out. You can check it out at the library.
I think you'll be surprised to find that most of the parks have rides for older kids rather than younger. MK does have certain sections for the wee ones..but they have plenty of rides for older kids too.
I agree with the OP I enjoy riding all the rides regardless of age (well except maybe the teacups :)

go visit this forum - more kids here...

I also don't think anything is too baby....I don't ride Dumbo - not because it is for babies - but because I hate heights.... ;)

that said some girls you age did NOT like the 'Honey I shrank the audience' at Epcot or ' Bugs world' at AK

you get spreaded at, crawled, and pretty bad smells.... you also feel like things are going up your legs....

do you see this

have a fun time with your friend...

You're never too old for anything at WDW. Magic Kingdom is awesome, and there are SOOO many more characters than Mickey. My DDalmost9 and I have fun getting autographs and pictures. We "hunt" for characters each time we go to the park. Check at the characters that we have found - http://photobucket.com/albums/e291/makasper/Character%20Pictures/

MK as Space Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn, as the "Thrilling rides", but there are the fun rides - Haunted Mansion, Pirates of Caribbean, and shows Philharmagic... and many many more - there are very few things we don't like (okay - there is the Stitch attraction). There is also the fireworks and parades....

EPCOT has Soarin and Test track as must does, other things are fun - Great fireworks

AK - Dinosaur, Primevil Whirl and the new Expedition Everest and some fun shows - fun parade

MGM - Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller coaster, as well as other fun things and attractions! Fantasmic show at night and a fun parade during the day.

Have fun.....

I'm a 27 year old guy and I'll go on just about everything. I agree with a lot of the other comments. Epcot has Soarin, Mission Space, TT, even turtle talk with crush is pretty fun to watch. MK has all three mountains (space, big thunder, and splash), and so many other great rides. MGM has TOT, RNR, Star Tours. And AK has Everest, Kilimanjoro Safari's, dinosaur, and kali rapids. So much to do. Just remember that you're in Disney and there are adults 8 times your age that ride all the so called "baby-stuff" and love it. Disney is a magical place and if you think of it in that way, the rides are meant for everyone.

Have fun on your trip!

It really depends on what kinds of rides you like. Also, if you go to have fun, it isn't going to matter what rides you go on. And if you go on a "kiddie" ride, who cares? If people judge you, it doesn't matter. They should be looking for their own fun and not worry about what is fun to you.
BTW, we are going to be in the World for Christmas, too. If you see a crazy family of 5, it just might be us! ;)

my dd at that age loved space mountain and towere of terror. rock and roll roller coaster. :thumbsup2

We are going for the first time at the end of this month. One of the things my daughters ages 13 and almost 10 did was to get the Birnbaums guide to Disney for kids. It was about $10 and gave them a good idea about the rides and shows and it helped them decide what they might like.

Just go to any of the parks you will find a lot of rides to go on.

Where do you get this book? I think it will be great for my DD8 & DS6 to help pass time on the drive down. They can read in the car! :) Not me I get sick!! :sad2:

I got ours at the local Waldenbooks in our mall. The kids thought it was great because it told about the rides and rated them, but it also posted if the ride was dark, fast, scary, etc.

Thanks for the book idea! I will pick one up before we go! You all always have the best ideas & info :thumbsup2 !

I think you are never to old for the magic of the magic kingdom! pixiedust: party: :goofy:

the great thing about Disney parks is that there is no "kids area" or "kids rides" as opposed to "adult rides"--its all fun! I love the Goofy's Barnstormer as much as I love any of the big "thrill rides". It's all about the story that the ride takes you through--the seat is just an exra benefit. It all depends on your attitude--so go act like a kid! :figment:

Go on everything! MK is really fun for all ages. My son and Nefew both 11 went on everything. Some things just to humor my 5 year old niece. The only time they really complained was when we made them take her on the teacups. Talk about long faces!

Have a great trip!!

Since you're 10, you are big enough for everything...even the roller coasters and really really exciting rides. At WDW it's not really about any rides being "babyish". Nothing is really "babyish"...not even Minnie's House (which 2 and 3 year olds really love). When you are 10 and go to Minnie's House, you will like it too...you just won't want to spend as much time there as littler kids.

You will find that things you like at Disney at age 10...you will like at Disney at age 13...and 16...and 21...35...46...50...58...65...72...81...and 97 too! You will just enjoy them with a different outlook as you grow up.

Since you are 10...have you ever been on any roller coasters before? If not, start out with Goofy's Barnstormer. If you like that, you're ready to try Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad next...and then Splash Mountain (not really a roller coaster, but this is the order of doing it IMHO), Space Mountain and Rock'n'Rollercoaster (that one is at MGM) in that order in my opinion! Those are all the rollercoasters...oops, I almost forgot...and finally Expedition Everest at AK too!
