I am confused...what exactly is free dining??

If you book a room you get the basic meal plan free for specific times in the Fall. Or a free upgraded from the basic plan to the deluxe plan? Is this offered to anyone? How do you find out about any offers?
Is it ever offered for October?

If my memory serves me, Free Dining was offered the last two years. The booking period for everyone started in April and ended in June. It was good for Late Aug through the end of Sept. It has not been offered for Oct. It is on the Disney Web site and a lot of buzz is made about it on the Dis, Mousesaves, a few other sites. The rack rate is paid for the room, then at least a one day ticket has to be bought to get Free Dining.

You would get the basic dining plan for free and just pay for the room/tickets, etc. or if you want deluxe dining, it would cost the price of regular dining.

Since 2005, Disney has been offereing Free Dining during the last part of August until the end of September, give or take a few days. It has already been offered to UK visitors for this September and to those of us who were there at WDW during Free Dining this past September for the dates of August 30 - September 27 2008. The free dining for this year should be announced during the first week of April. The first couple of days it will only be open to Disney Visa holders and then will open up to the general public. We aren't going back this year because the heat was so terrible and we thought we would have low crowds, and the crowds were not that low to us.
