I am completely confused how Disney prices the MYW package w/ free dining.

I reserved 3 rooms for 7 people for 7 nights at POP. I only ordered 1-day MYW base tickets so far (I am planning on changing that). I got my confirmation and was looking it over and I am completely confused. If they are charging rack rate, my total should be a lot higher for 3 rooms. They only charged me $2303 including $430 worth of tickets. That means that they charged me $89.20 per room including tax. That can't be right, can it? Are they charging per person or per room? Does anyone know?

The rate in value season is $79 plus tax. It looks like you were charged correctly.

But, I thought value season starts on 8/27 and we are going before that; on 8/20. I should be charged Regular season rates (not that I am complaining).

At the value resorts, Disney is offering Value Season rates for the entire duration of the promotion. Since your arrival date does fall in Regular Season, you reap the benefit of discounted room rates.

Correct....we too are staying at Pop August 17th and were charged the promotional value season rate during regular season!! Same for moderate resorts too. A good deal.

I wish I had realized that!! We are going to be in Orlando starting 8/24. But we have two different hotels booked (one because of a flight change and the other, the kids wanted to go there for a couple of days) in that time from 8/24-8/27. It probably would have saved us a ton of $ if we were able to book for the 3 additional nights, plus more free food...oh well...
I'm glad for others that booked earlier and got into the value season!

Thanks so much. I thought they were just doing rack rates. This is great; not only do we get free dining, we also get a room discount.

I might be able to do this whole trip for under $2000 for a family of 4.

Congrats!!

I believe the prices are by the room. The only time there is a surcharge is if there are more than 2 adults occupying the same room. Then at a value the surcharge is $10 per extra adult.

I had been wondering if the same thing. We arrive on 8/24 and I was wondering why my room was less. I wonder if this only happened on the second round of packages, when they extended the dates. A woman I work with switched from one of the all star standard room to Pop preferred and it was the same price. She showed me the confirmation and I was shocked. Our magic has begun!!!!

I believe that value season for 2007 has also moved to the beginning of Aug from the end in 2006. Obviously, Disney has not been getting the bookings at this time of year that they would like to have.
