Seriously though....check online for the model microwave you have and see about replacement parts. I know some glass inserts have the special little notches on the bottom so they have to be special ordered. If you find the replacement and order it you can show her you did that and then give her the flowers.
You are NOT a stupid hubby, you are a helpful, considerate one. Impress her by ordering the part online and telling her what happened...and then have a great evenng together...
Just as long as it's NOT my 50th anniversary Cinderella snowglobe!!
I can't imagine her getting mad at you just for being helpful. Accidents happen and it's not like you broke the microwave itself or even something that was meaningful. It's something that's easily replaced and certainly not worth fretting over
Find the 800 number for whatever company microwave it is. I had to do this a couple of years ago for my over the range microwave.
BTW... It was rather expensive. I want to say arounf $60.
We broke ours a few years ago and never were able to find a replacement! It was a fairly old microwave. We had to do without until a friend got a new microwave and gave us her old one, complete with "glass plate thingie"!!
Hope you have better luck finding a replacement!
I agree, she won't be mad. She'll be thrilled you were cleaning, especially inside the microwave!
It's late and you may have already taken care of it, but...I had to call Sears to order a replacement a few years ago. Look in your owners manual. It cost $45 .
Just put a paper plate in there and see if see notices it!!
I would try this site if you can't find it anywhere else, they seem to have alot of parts to order on line, hope it helps.
