I usually say lol to show I'm joking about something. Like, 'oh you're stupid lol', just so they know not to take me seriously! I use when I'm smiling and LOL!! when I actually laugh out loud but usually the laugh is not very loud.

I usually just use it as a filler, but I always make fun of my friend when he says, roflmao. I ask him if it hurts to roll on the floor while laughing your as$ off.

I just mostly use it to just make sure I dont sound too serious online. Just to lighten the mood. Its always portrayed online that your being serious unless you say somthing like "LOL" or "HAHA" or "HEHE" I gues ive just got used to writing it
