I-95 Travel through Georgia

Heard on the radio that there will be lane closings on I-95 from Exit 101 (SC border basically) through exit Exit 87/6 going south. Our local radio stations aren't THAT good, but, something to be aware of.


All the online traffic reports show Green, but, you know how I-95 can be.

I did note the last time I went south, that the Darien/Brunswick area has finally finished.

Drivers headed southbound on Interstate 95, might want to allow for extra time.

Starting Monday, the left, southbound lane of I-95 from milemarker 101 to 86 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for construction. It will remain closed through Friday.

The DOT is warning motorists to use extreme caution and reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone.

In Georgia, dialing 511 on your cell will get you current info on traffic conditions -- you talk to a person, not just hear a recording.

There is also an iPhone app that covers Georgia road conditions; can't recall its name at the moment.
