Here is the info I found from our local traffic radio site (http://www.wtopnews.com). This road work is being done south of Washington, DC on I-95 so anyone taking it to Orlando early this week could be affected if you're driving at night. Of course we're expecting perhaps 10+ inches of snow on Monday so if that happens this road work would probably be delayed.
WASHINGTON -- Leave extra time if you are traveling on Interstate-95 in Virginia this week.
A highway overpass is being demolished, which means the road will have to be closed at certain times. The work is being done in Stafford County on the old Route-627 bridge.
If the weather cooperates, V-DOT plans to shut the southbound lanes of I-95 Monday night, between Exit-140, Courthouse Road, and the exit for U.S.-17. All southbound traffic will have to use U.S.-1 for 10 miles.
The closure will begin at 10 p.m. Monday and continue until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Then on Tuesday night, the same stretch of I-95 will be shut on the northbound side. The closure will be in effect from 10 p.m. until 4:30 Wednesday morning.
V-DOT warns the delays could run from 45-to-90-minutes.
