I-65 vs. I-75

Driving from northern Indiana on April 2. Wondering if anyone has advice on whether to take I65 or I75. Most concerned about construction delays and spring break traffic.

Hey fellow Hoosier!

I always take 75 and AAA always recomends 75. I posted on another thread about some problems on 75. A bridge collapsed on the Kentucy/Tennessee border and reduced the highway to 2 lanes on one side. When I called AAA today, they still say I65 is out of the way in spite of the problem. Parts of 75 are ALWAYS under construction. I always go through Atlanta and use the HOV lane. It is WAY faster than going around!

As a former truck driver (DH is still one) I ran that route every week for over 10 yrs- we always ran 65 out of Indy to 24 to 75 to 475 in Atlanta - back to 75 and on down to Florida-- We used to turn it in around 18-18.5 hrs. Now in a car I would run 75 straight thru Atlanta--semis aren't allowed to unless we had a local delivery in town- straight thru duing rush hour is ALOT quicker, hope it helps!
