I enrolled on a counselling diploma with ICI, an online college. I decided against that as it was a lot of money (£700) and the qualification was very similar to one I already have. No refunds! Well, half way. I didn’t realise! The customer service was awful too. I’m not looking for pity or understanding, it was a foolish mistake to make - just a warning to fellow DISers. The college is ICI (I reiterate)

If you paid with a credit card, consider registering a dispute with them.

Also, sometimes places that have a no-refund policy will actually refund you if you approach them the right way--and I don't know exactly what that right way would be for this, but that's a lot of money to not get back.
 
Ugh...that's a lot of money to lose. Is their refund policy posted? How is the class content provided...do you get all the materials at once or does it roll out over several weeks?

It was either pay all up front for a discount (which I did) or in weekly instalments. I (unwisely) opted to go for the full value. And they were right - buried away in the dark recesses of the user agreement was a non-refund policy. Which makes me all the more annoyed, with myself!
 

Since it's prepaid, are you going to just do the course and get the similar certification anyways? You can make a little fort with them :)

I still say it's worth trying to get a refund. I got a refund last year from something that said they had a no-refund policy. This is a lot of money to just leave.

I just got off the phone with them. They just pointed out the clause in the terms of agreement and yup, it's there. I was just lucky to get half off.

Well, something is better than nothing. I'm glad you got at least half back. And for sure you'll be more careful in the future--but that was an expensive lesson to learn.

Very. I'm cursing my own stupidity here. Of all the clauses to miss!
