Club Villain: the experience!
Okay! Drinks, check. Food, check. Now onto the villain, the show and the experience.
Let me start by saying, the villains were on point. They were amazing. We had filled our table with food and drinks and were ready for the villains!
Before the show began, we were allowed to take photos in the villain’s areas and sit in their seats. I was able to get photos with the Evil Queen and the Queen of Heart’s areas (both were on our side of the room):
Evil Queen:
And the magic mirror (yes, the magic mirror face would appear but it didn’t during my photo :-():
And the Queen of Hearts:
We didn’t have time to get to the other side of the room for the remaining two areas before the show started.
To give you an idea of the timeline thus far: they had let us in at 7:30PM and the host started the show at 7:45PM. In 15 minutes we had done a lot! Grabbed samples of all the food, drinks, and taken the two throne photos - in retrospect I have no idea how we did everything! There were short lines for the throne photos (maybe 7-8 people). Many folks were still filtering in from outside and getting their food; I’d imagine the line would be bigger if there weren’t so many other things fighting for guest attention. The cast members were very expeditious in the throne photos and when we were taking the Queen of Hearts photos they were closing off the line stating the show was starting shortly and the villains needed their seats.
The entire night was speckled with shows. There would be musical number, then a break for the villain greets (the times given on our cards), character breaks and time for food, then another number. The hosts and villains would come from any of the four corners of the room, but usually from the stage corners.
The show started with the host (or maybe emcee, I’m referring to him as the host) making his grand entrance and introducing himself. Let me tell you that the host was the most talented person in the show. His acting was great, his voice was beautiful and kept its strength despite all the dancing he was doing. AND THE BACK OF HIS JACKET! A Dia De Los Muertos like skull that was absolutely beautiful. He was the real star of the show.

Next was Doctor Facilier. He came and went throughout the night. For being the Villain host, it felt a little weird that he was the villain we saw least. I feel like he should have been meeting too? Anyway, I love this face character. His costume makes him look so perfectly lanky and I love it! He came out with two ladies who accompanied him and the host through various dance numbers throughout the night.
His back: I spy hidden mickeys!
He and his ladies:
Since we were in a back corner, there was one point I turned around and he was just waltzing by, starting the next musical number. His hat makes him so tall it was a bit jarring! But in a fun way.
The hosts then introduced the villainous ladies of the evening. Because I was in the outer row of tables there are heads in all my photos, so I apologize in advance!
Maleficent was first; look at that scowl! Love it!
Next up was Cruella! I LOVE her backdrop on the video screen. The smoke even has black dots! The colors pop perfectly and it shows how much money Disney put into the technology in this room. Here is her enterance - this photo makes me giggle because she’s lookin’ like a walker..
She moved so fast it was tough to get a clear photo:
The Evil Queen!

And last, but not least, my favorite of the evening - The Queen of Hearts!
.
A quick disclaimer - the Queen of Hearts had her throne area right next to us so she became my favorite. I absolutely LOVE that she is a face character for this event. The Queen of Hearts is a naturally fabulous and expressive character - that giant head was such a disservice. When we were at the Sinister Soiree at
MNSSHP in 2014 she was not a face character and I really didn’t care for her. I would add a bonus photo of 2014 Queen of Hearts meeting but that disaster of an event didn’t bother to provide photopass. Thankfully Disney learned and provided it here! Instead I’ll include a 2014 MNSSHP photo (I was dressed as the Queen of Hearts and hubby as the Mad Hatter). We’re with another character that would be wonderful as a face character but isn’t.
It was now about 8:00PM and we had 20 minutes until our meeting with the Evil Queen and the Queen of Hearts. We spent this time taking the food photos and drinking a lot (okay, well I was drinking a lot. Remember, I was determined to get my moneys worth in alcohol alone!). At 8:20 we got in line to meet our first Villains. Really, there was no line. We just had to wait for the people currently meeting them to finish up.
First we went to the Queen of Hearts and what a great character. I’d been watching her from our table and was super glad to finally interact with her - she was a lot of fun.
Next was the Evil Queen - again no real wait. She was a great character but so soft spoken. I didn’t really get an evil vibe from her but her dialog was spot on. Plus, I’m really nitpicking here since everything was so great the entire night.
After we finished it was 8:23PM. I even checked the timestamps on my camera and the photopass pictures and we literally made it through both villains in 3 minutes. Neither my husband nor I are good at meeting characters. The conversation never flows well so it’s really our own fault and I have no complaints, just floored that it was only 3 minutes! Crazy!
So it’s now about 8:25 and our next meeting is at 9:25. I’m going to break here and continue in my next update.
