I got the following really, really weird rumor at Screamscape
http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_hollywood_studios.htm
(5/29/16) Screamscape sources tell us that the Hyperspace Mountain retheme of Space Mountain in Disneyland has become so popular that not only are they opening a version in Hong Kong, that WDI is working on a plan to install a similar temporary makeover to the Rock 'n Roller Coaster attraction in Orlando. Unfortunately, I've no idea of the timeline for when they might try to install this, but it looks like it is coming.
(6/16/16) A weird report was sent in to Screamscape a few days ago, detailing what happened at closing time at Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. According to the teller of the story, they were at the end of the line to get the last ride on the coaster for the night and as they approached the station a group of mechanics and someone more well dressed came out of the back and asked them if they would like to stay and give feedback on a new musical track they were working on for the coaster.
Everyone who wanted to hear the new track could board the next train, but if you wanted a normal Aerosmith track, you could wait for the next one. Of course almost everyone jumped at the chance to hear the new track. Now, I don’t know how true this is, but according to the story the train approached the launch point with audio that sounded like Goofy talking to Max talking about “getting to the show”. Following the plot of The Goofy Movie, the audio track sounded like music from the ‘Powerline’ rock star character. After the ride, thoughts and opinions were noted and everyone left.
Sounds kind of odd to me to be getting opinions about a soundtrack based on a 20+ year old movie that I don’t think was every very popular. Especially when the latest rumors say that RNRC is looking to be converted temporarily into Hyperspace Mountain (a Star Wars thematic overlay) instead. Anyone else know more about this Powerline concept test?
