I got the following really, really weird rumor at Screamscape

http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_hollywood_studios.htm

(5/29/16) Screamscape sources tell us that the Hyperspace Mountain retheme of Space Mountain in Disneyland has become so popular that not only are they opening a version in Hong Kong, that WDI is working on a plan to install a similar temporary makeover to the Rock 'n Roller Coaster attraction in Orlando. Unfortunately, I've no idea of the timeline for when they might try to install this, but it looks like it is coming.

(6/16/16) A weird report was sent in to Screamscape a few days ago, detailing what happened at closing time at Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. According to the teller of the story, they were at the end of the line to get the last ride on the coaster for the night and as they approached the station a group of mechanics and someone more well dressed came out of the back and asked them if they would like to stay and give feedback on a new musical track they were working on for the coaster.
Everyone who wanted to hear the new track could board the next train, but if you wanted a normal Aerosmith track, you could wait for the next one. Of course almost everyone jumped at the chance to hear the new track. Now, I don’t know how true this is, but according to the story the train approached the launch point with audio that sounded like Goofy talking to Max talking about “getting to the show”. Following the plot of The Goofy Movie, the audio track sounded like music from the ‘Powerline’ rock star character. After the ride, thoughts and opinions were noted and everyone left.
Sounds kind of odd to me to be getting opinions about a soundtrack based on a 20+ year old movie that I don’t think was every very popular. Especially when the latest rumors say that RNRC is looking to be converted temporarily into Hyperspace Mountain (a Star Wars thematic overlay) instead. Anyone else know more about this Powerline concept test?

Screamscape is honestly one of the worst places to get rumors. They can even be worse than Jim hill in how they report every single little rumor they hear.

I can tell you a Rockin roller coaster retheme is likely but it won't be hyperspace mountain because the ride isn't a "mountain". I also can't see it being themed to a goofy movie because while I loved the movie it's not s too selling IP. Disney only likes to use big time IPs these days.

You say that, but then you'll post a rumor by them tomorrow. Like you did with Wdwnt, which you slagged off for supposedly stealing ideas from the Disboards.

I don't think I've ever posted a rumor from screamscape. Once in a while I'll post photo updates from their site but that's it. WDWNT doesn't steal ideas from the disboards they supposedly steal from WDWmagic. A lot of the stuff I post from wdwnt is photo updates as well since the rumors they report I have already reported from elsewhere.

I don't think it matters that it's not a "mountain", they wouldn't have to call it Hyperspace Mountain and likely wouldn't. The reason I don't believe this is because it wouldn't be in Star Wars land. But if it's a temporary thing I would be all for it.

The Goofy Movie idea would be so much fun but never going to happen. It's by far my favorite non DAS Disney movie, and top 10 overall. It would be a really fun ride with that sound track and the sillines of it would make the cheap cardboard adventure type ride seem more appropriate. The preshow could be really funny too.

neither make much sense.

there's already a space mountain so if they were going to make it star wars themed i doubt they'd called it hyperspace mountain.

and a goofy movie? really? thats irrelevant these days.

one of the only themes i could see easily going there would be the monster's inc door room roller coaster that there was so much talk of a number of years ago. replace the signs with doors and characters at them and play the storyline through the on board speakers and there you go.

personally i'd prefer it just stay how it is though.

You couldn't retheme RnRc into the door coaster. You would need to get completely new ride vehicles because a door standing up not a seating attraction. I think instead of redoing RnRc into the door coaster they would rather spend that money to build the door coaster as the original concept it was.

That sounds really cool, they could make the Monster's Inc section right behind Sunset Market. This way it connects with Toy Story Land and the rest of the park. Then people can finally walk in a more circler pattern.

I doubt they would do a stand up coaster. It sounds uncomfortable, what's next a bent over with your rump in the air coaster?

I'm sure Disney would develop a special ride vehicle for the coaster. The door coaster was supposed to go into sound stage 1 where the TSMM third track went.

Sorry rteez, I may have been a tad out of line. You have a right to your opinion. I just didn't agree with your negativity towards wdwnt and screamscape. They are really good sites, that have accurately predicted things in the past. They've been more on the ball then wdwmagic lately. It seems like wdwmagic just wants to talk about Disney Springs lately.

Actually posters on wdwmagic were the first to break the DCA ToT guardians change. Posters WDW1974 and Marni are two of the most accurate Disney sources out there.

Just putting this out there. If A Goofy Movie is so irrelevant, then why was Max meeting at HS recently? (I know he hasn't in the past few weeks, but he definitely was before that.)

My DH would be out of his mind excited if that was going to be the new theme! I would support it as well!

Max is out pretty frequently at DHS.

I agree about the forum, but what I was referring to was main page of the news section. Every other day it seems like they're talking about Disney Outlet Mall... whoops I mean Disney Springs.

Their main page doesn't deal with rumors really. So much has been happening at Disney springs and not much else where so that's what they have to talk about. A new store just opened yesterday in fact. Blaze pizza will be opening in about a week or so. It is what it is.

I used to love "The Goofy Movie" when I was a kid. It had a catchy tune by Tevin Campbell (eye to eye) and Lester's Possum Park, which is an homage to Country Bears.

Lester's is much more a shabbier version of Bears and doesn't look its had many refurbs.

Cedar Point has a stand up coaster, or used too. You "stand up" with a bicycle seat between your legs that's adjustable, if I remember correctly. It wasn't bad until you went into a loop and had the force push you down onto the seat, and as a guy I'll stop at saying it was a just a "tad" uncomfortable.

It would have to be a temporary overlay if its Star Wars. But Disney is so slow at making lands, rides and even parking garages that they could probably get two years with it.

Let's put ourselves in Disney's shoes. The Rock'n Rollercoaster is going to be due for re-theme soon. It's been the same for years, and Aerosmith is stale as a band. ...why would you choose an even more stale property like "The Goofy Movie" for theming? That just doesn't make any sense. Also, it takes a thrill ride aimed at teens and adults and orients it to kids; many of whom will be too small or scared to ride it.

GOTG makes much more sense here (not at ToT, or even EPCOT) right down to the music. I'm not making any predictions, just stating my opinion.

That actually makes perfect sense, they could make a whole Guardians section. I'd even people alright with Tower becoming a Guardians ride. All they'd have to do it is overlay these two rides, ditch the Beauty show and add a Guardians dance party.
