Hydro flask Question

I was going to buy DH a hydro flask for our trip to WDW later this month but when I went to the store to pick one out yesterday I noticed the majority of them have such a small opening! I got to thinking how he could possibly get ice into it. But the wide mouth ones are nearly twice the price and just feel so bulky and heavy. He uses a Yeti daily but we need something that won’t spill in his bag on rides so it has to close all the way like a hyrdroflask. So my silly question is : do the ice cubes at the resorts and in the parks fit into small hydro flask openings? Thx. 😁

HI
I own several hydro flasks and taken them to the parks. The small mouth will fit ice cubes from the resorts. I would fill it to the brim with ice, then add water. Once the water was gone, I would get cups of water from the quick service restaurants to refill. My ice last most of the day if not all day.

If you get a wide mouth with the intent to use the straw lid, they leak if tipped over. The old version didn't leak. I could place carbonated beverages in the old model and still have the carbonation a day later. The old version has a rubberized mouth piece while the version is hard plastic.
