Hydration Packs?

DH wants to bring his hydration pack/backpack with him on our October trip. I think these are allowed -- I didn't see anything against them in the park rules. Has anyone had any trouble with these from security?

We use hydration backpacks, but with the bladders removed for our park bags and haven't had issues. If I were to bring my bladder, I would probably bring it empty and then fill it after going through Security just to play it safe. If it is prefilled then they don't know what is in it and at the very least should be asking him a few additional questions about its contents and worst case they could ask him to empty it before going through the checkpoint (since I haven't taken a bladder into Disneyland specifically this is based off of my experiences other places).

Unless there is some kind of rule/concern if it were to puncture while on a ride or something, but is that really any different than the risks of bottled beverages?

I always bring my hydration backpack filled with ice and water from the hotel. They have never even asked what was in it. They look through all of the pockets and send me on my way.

Thanks, that's helpful! While we could get free ice water to fill it up in the parks, I think it'd be much easier to do it in the hotel room.

It is a pain in the butt to refill it in the parks. I hate asking for a million glasses of free ice water but with 2 adults and 4 kids we need them. I only bring mine when it's super hot and/or humid and we do take afternoon breaks so I can refill if needed. Usually, it's only my hubby who needs to refill his in the park because he drinks a ton of water. I've brought mine to both DL and WDW and it's never ever been an issue. :)

I found that there is a water spigot in the patio of Rancho de Zocalo that makes filling up water bottles much easier than the water fountains or inside at the soda fountains
