I have a Nathan Swift hydration belt, see link below. It has just one small 8 oz bottle and a small pouch. However, if I'm going to start training for a half-marathon (and eventually a marathon), I'll need a better hydration system.

I am 5'2" and weigh 102, and have absolutely no waist at all to speak of. Has anyone had luck using a hydration belt that actually doesn't flop around? I am not really wanting to do a hand-held bottle or a camel backpack, so other than finding a hydration belt that fits me, or storing bottles along my route, I think I'm out of luck. Thanks ladies!!

You have an inch on me height wise but im a few lbs lighter and the regular 4 bottle fuelbelt is fine for me.

I'm 5"3" and 115 and I use the Nathan Speedbelt--2 bottle version. This gets me through most training and races. For my marathon training, which I did over summer, I ended up buying a Camelback Annadel (?)--40 oz. This worked well for long runs (15-20) when I really needed more than 20 oz of water.

I never could find a belt that fit me properly (i'm 5'3 115 with sort of an oddly shaped rib cage) so I use a handheld bottle. If I'm running longer than 10, I look for a place to refill.

I use an amphipod belt to carry my epi-pen and phone. They have "fluid modules" that can be purchased separately and added to your belt.

check out www.amphipod.com for more info. I have the Airflow microstretch belt. Last week during my mini, I had my epi-pen, phone, cash, ID, and a clif bar in it. It's super stretchy, and it does bounce a bit if I don't have things positioned correctly. but if I lay it out against me, it stays pretty well in place.

I am curvy, but I think it is more about being picky about the fit for your particular shape. I have been "accused" of having Princess and the Pea syndrome about fuel belts cause I don't want bounce.

That said, I combined 2 different brand products to get the just right, no bounce system for me to use for really long distance stuff.

I use the FuelBelt Distance Runner Waistpack and add on 2 Amphipod 8oz SnapFlasks. The pack gives me a great adjustable fit that does not bounce around and is comfy for the long haul. I am a run/walk girl who does a half in about 3 hours, so this is really important to me.

The pack is big enough that I could carry both my phone and camera at the Princess half along with my honey packets, room key and tissues. The bottles allowed me carry my preferred sports drink on the course.

See if any friends have fuel belts/packs they will let you borrow for short runs to test them out. Trust me - if it isn't going to work for you, you pretty much know it in a mile or so :sad2: That way you haven't spent money on something you hate.

Good Luck!

I have a double pouch belt from iFitness (think they'll be having a booth at the WineandDine Expo), and it's great: the pouches are neophene (spelling?) and fit any odd shape I put in there, and the belt is elastic. I wear just below the hips and it does not ride up.

I just bought a Susan B Komen Water bottle belt: the kind the holds the big bottle on a diagonal behind, and also has an Ipod holder & wallet. But the belt is not elasticized and at it's smallest still bigger than my waist.... and it rides up if I put it below my hips.
I'm going to take it to the tailor to see if they can replace much of the belt w/ Elastic belting (and how much they'll charge).

I don't think I'm a small person, but I guess I do have a small waist.

I use the Nathan speed 2. Get one that velcros shut rather than clips. That way you can adjust it to be as snug as you need. It does not bounce on me.
