If I wanted to do this, DH is not interested, could I do this? Would you do this? Is there a dress code? can you pay OOP? How far in advance do you book? We are going in Sept.
any suggestions welcome.

Well, I haven't had the tea solo. Yet. I am going on a solo trip in December and I already have my ADR for Afternoon Tea. It is one of the meals I won't miss, even if I am solo. As far as a dress code, I have come straight from the parks, but I don't wear shorts or tanks, and I didn't feel out of place.

Have fun

I have done the tea 2 times solo. It is not part of the dining plan if that is what you mean by OOP. I have just gone straight from the parks to the GF for the tea and most people are wearing park clothes at the tea. Sometimes little girls are dressed in princess attire. I would book the tea now if you know you want to do it. The have a few different seating times that you can pick from. I'm doing the tea again on Sept 23.

I have never done it, but I would do the tea solo in a heartbeat.

I already have adr's for oct. (with family) and it is one of our non-park days so I plan to wear a skirt and t-shirt type outfit. Very "tea-like". ;)

I went solo a few years ago. It was wonderful. Only akward moment was with the hostess. Even though I had reservations she didn't quite seem to know what to do with a solo diner. My server on the other hand was great. I would have loved to have gone back this month, but this was a much shorter trip. I went in park clothes (a solid shirt and shorts)

Being that you are going in September, your booking window is already open, CALL NOW! The locals have caught on and the Red Hat Society is all over this one, especially on the weekends.

I have never done this solo, but it's really an awesome experience. I went thinking that I would feel completely out of place and make a fool of myself, but it was nothing short of a memorable event that I look forward to repeating on our next WDW vacation.

We saw ladies dressed formally, people dressed in casual clothes, and people dressed in park attire. Basically, being dressed will get you in the door. :teeth:

We have always paid OOP, in fact, they take cash, Disney Dollars, and credit/check cards. Have fun!

I know you said that your DH has no desire to go, but I really think that he is missing out. It's not the painful, awkward experience that I am sure that he is expecting. I am about the last person that you would look at and think that I would ever like to go to a tea, which is right in everyday life, but at WDW, I am ok with trying new things and this is one of those things that I found that I really did enjoy. I would never do this at home, the experience would just not be the same.

Happy Planning! Maggie

Your DH would probably really enjoy it - there were tons of couples and men there when we went. I would have no problem going alone.

I am not sure what you mean by OOP? They accept all major credit cards, room charge, cash, disney dollars... it is not on the dining plan.

Attire is come as you are for the most part. We were in nice shorts/tops and fit in nicely - there were people dressed up and people in park attire.
